Indigenous group calls for apology, Hyatt hotel in Vancouver says staffer followed protocol

The B.C. Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres has called for a public apology after an employee at a Vancouver hotel denied an Indigenous man access to a washroom, which they say resulted him losing control of his bladder in front of onlookers.

The general manager of the Hyatt Regency Hotel says it conducted an internal investigation after the association reported an incident last month.

20 seconds? Canada where the shakedowns never stop! Why didn’t he pee on his unceded indigenous land in the parking lot?

A black director of a “woke” California college’s Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education claims she was fired for questioning the institution’s anti-racism “orthodoxy” and what the term “anti-racism” even means.

Dr. Tabia Lee said De Anza College, a community college in Cupertino, retaliated after she objected to several campus policies aimed at inclusion.

NDP Gotta NDP…

Antisemitism charges upend Ontario byelection race in NDP stronghold

HAMILTON — It was expected to be a smooth cruise to victory in a riding staunchly New Democrat for almost two decades under former party leader Andrea Horwath, who quit last year to become mayor of Steeltown.

But accusations of antisemitism against NDP candidate Sarah Jama — which she denies — are buffeting the campaign in Thursday’s Hamilton Centre byelection, putting the disability activist and the party’s newly minted leader Marit Stiles on the defensive.

‘Hollywood is laughing at them!’ Meghan Markle ridiculed in hilarious SNL joke

Meghan Markle has once again been mocked by a top US comedy show as Saturday Night Live has become the latest to take a swipe at the Duchess of Sussex. Comedian Michael Che joked that Meghan was being offered “$19 an hour” to attend the Coronation as a graphic of the Duchess dressed as a maid appeared behind him. The segment has so far been lapped up by viewers.

I know, it’s hard to believe SNL could be funny.

Outcry over China’s interference should spur electoral reform

… The root of the problem is that Canadian political parties have a rather loose definition of what constitutes a party member. Most parties allow people as young as 14 to vote in nomination and leadership contests. Neither do you need to be a full-fledged citizen — permanent residency will suffice. Candidates can go to immigrant communities to recruit new members who may not speak English or understand party policies or even agree with the party’s positions on issues. The candidates can then have donors pay for these memberships in cash.

Why should a Chinese international student who is under 18 or a non-citizen permanent resident get to help decide who will represent a Canadian political party in that riding? Raising party voting ages to at least 18 might help, as would new rules lengthening the amount of time someone must be a paid-up party member in order to cast a vote in a leadership or nomination race.

Who thought this set up was a good idea? Oh yea it was the the same evil bastards that brought us “diversity and multiculturalism.”

Mohammedan group says it killed more than 35 ‘Christians’ in Congo

Muslims slaughtered 35 Christians in the Congo for fun.

DAKAR, Senegal (AP) — The Islamic State group has issued a statement claiming responsibility for killing more than 35 people and wounding dozens in eastern Congo.

In the statement, posted Friday by Aamaq, the militants’ news agency, it said it killed “Christians” with guns and knives and destroyed their property in Mukondi village in North Kivu province. It also published a photo of the houses on fire.

The announcement comes after local authorities confirmed that at least 45 people were killed last week in several attacks on different villages by rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces, a militia with links to IS.

Unclaimed beaten boy the latest victim of a heartless city

Who is this youth, lying unconscious in a bed at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, with life-threatening injuries?
Don’t know.

Why has no one come forward to put a name to the boy?

Don’t know.

How can it be that nobody is missing him?

Don’t know.

It is a shame but I will not share blame or guilt any longer for the bad policy decisions made by people who hate me.

Why illegal alien benefit shoppers are using unofficial U.S. border crossings to sneak into Canada

CHAMPLAIN, New York and WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) – Bookseller Zulema Diaz fled her native Peru after being kidnapped, beaten and robbed, hoping to find safety in the United States. Instead, she said she experienced homelessness and sexual harassment as she worked off-the-books on a hospital cleaning crew.

So when Diaz, 46, heard New York City was distributing free bus tickets, she said she hopped on a bus for Plattsburgh, a town close to the Canadian border, then took a taxi to the irregular crossing at Roxham Road to enter Canada and file an asylum claim.

Rex Murphy: PM in a tailspin, feigned outrage over questions and a pompous-sounding new bureaucrat

The prime minister provided an index of that anxiety. His performance, either in the House or outside, was far more sad than effective. Stonewall mode is not his best look, and blatantly ignoring reporters’ questions, as he did in a scrum on Wednesday, comes off — as it is — as rude and condescending.

The extremely annoying habit he has of rattling off whatever string of words he has stored up for when he’s questioned — regardless of the actual question asked — was on full and embarrassing display. This habit is even more annoying when he indulges in multiple repeats of the same string of words. As he did so often this week, when Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre — as trenchant a presence in question period as we have seen in a while — put him under the laser beam.

Texas trooper issues stark travel warning to Americans after three women vanished crossing the border – as it’s revealed more than 550 U.S. citizens are now missing in Mexico

A Texas trooper is warning Americans to rethink traveling to Mexico after three women vanished when crossing the border to sell clothes at a flea market – joining the more than 500 US citizens currently missing in the country.

Lieutenant Chris Olivarez, of the Texas Department of Public Safety, told travelers gearing up for Spring Break to be careful when planning vacations to the popular travel destination.

‘Our department is urging anyone traveling to Mexico, especially spring breakers, to avoid those areas, because right now it is too dangerous with the increase in violence and kidnappings in Mexico,’ Lieutenant Olivarez told Fox News. ‘I can’t express enough to those thinking about traveling to Mexico, especially to spring breakers…to avoid those areas as much as possible.’

King receives new horse from Canada’s Mounties in step with Royal tradition

King advised not to rename horse “Blackie Trudeau”

It is a relationship that dates back to 1904 when King Edward VII bestowed a royal title on Canada’s North West Mounted Police, the predecessors of today’s famous Mounties.

Now that long relationship has found its latest incarnation in the shape of Noble, a seven-year-old, 16.2-hands high black mare.

She has just been gifted to King Charles and is settling into her new home at the Royal Mews in Windsor where His Majesty met her for the first time last week.

The suspect, Levi Axtell, 27, was taken into custody and arraigned Friday on a second-degree murder charge in the death of 77-year-old Lawrence V. Scully, who was convicted of molesting a 6-year-old girl in 1979.
