Four pupils have been suspended from a West Yorkshire secondary school after a copy of the Quran was damaged by students.

Wednesday’s incident at Wakefield’s Kettlethorpe High School happened when a copy of the Islamic text was brought in by a Year 10 pupil.

Head teacher Tudor Griffiths said the book remained intact and there was “no malicious intent” from those involved.

He held a meeting with concerned community leaders on Friday.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau government equals more staff, less service

Canadians are paying more and getting less from the Trudeau government, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.

In a series of recent reports, testimony before parliamentary committees and media interviews, Yves Giroux — an independent, non-partisan financial watchdog of government spending — paints a grim picture of increasing expenditures borne by taxpayers and deteriorating public services.

The civil service is core to the UNIPARTY’s hold on power along with the media and corporate class.

Mother who locked herself and her ten-year-old son in their house for three years to escape Covid is finally removed by police

Covid Hermit Rubbish

A mother was so terrified of catching Covid that she locked herself and her son in their two-bed flat for three years.

Munmun Majhi, 33, and her son, aged 10, were rescued by police on Wednesday February 22 after they spent three years locked inside their home in the city of Gurugram, in Haryana State, India.

The 33-year-old mother was so petrified that they would contract the virus if they stepped outside, that she did not let her husband, Sujan Majhi, enter his own home just one day after the first lockdown.

Roxham: The little country road that became a big political headache for the Trudeau government

A small road straddling the Canada-U.S. border has become a political hot potato again in recent weeks as politicians call on Ottawa to close it to migrants claiming asylum.

Quebec Premier François Legault recently wrote a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asking him to close Roxham Road to asylum-seekers. Thousands of them have crossed into Canada from the United States at Roxham in recent years.

Legault claimed that the influx of people waiting to have their claims heard has put heavy pressure on the province’s public services. In a similar letter published Tuesday in the Globe and Mail, Legault asked other provinces to help.

How the WEF Spends Millions of Canadian Taxpayers’ Money

Through documents tabled in the House of Commons on Jan. 30, federal departments revealed how the World Economic Forum spends the over $17.4 million in Canadian taxpayer money it has received in recent years.

The Canadian investments in World Economic Forum (WEF) projects were in the fields of facilitating global trade, reducing plastic waste, producing a report on the environment, and supporting research on water ecosystems.

Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Environment and Climate Change Canada, and the Departments of Fisheries and Oceans responded to questions posed by Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis in an order paper filed last December.

Farewell to arms: Britain’s depleted military

A year ago on Friday, President Vladimir Putin unleashed blitzkrieg on Ukraine. It was an unprovoked assault that has so far led to more than 200,000 people being killed or wounded, but has failed in its intention of establishing Russian hegemony over its democratic neighbour. The West and much of the rest of the civilised world were shocked by the invasion, as well as being horrified and disgusted by the brutality of the Russian armed forces.

Yes, Shamima Begum was only 15. So what?

Contrary to the bleatings of deluded Left-wingers, her age is no excuse

Of all the excuses that hand-wringing progressives have made on behalf of Shamima Begum, there can be no doubt which is the most feeble. It’s the argument that she was “only 15”.

Well, I was 15 once, too. And, like everyone else at that age, I did and said many foolish things. There was one mistake, however, that I successfully managed to avoid making.

At no point did I flee the country to join the world’s most notorious terrorist group.

El Salvador’s government has moved thousands of suspected gang members to a newly opened “megaprison”, the latest step in a controversial crackdown on crime that has caused the Central American nation’s prison population to soar.

Have sanctions really hurt Russia?

If anything, Europe has come off worse from the decision

Last week the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) released a weekly snapshot of Russian fossil fuel exports. Since the price cap on Russian oil was announced in December 2022 and the snapshot provides data up until February 2023, it allows us to assess how effective sanctions against Russian crude oil have been.

Behind the Agenda to Rid Canada’s Military Chaplaincy of Traditional Faith Groups

Canada’s armed forces are ready for emergency pronoun deployment under battlefield conditions.

… In terms of Christianity, recommendation 6.1 of the government’s “Re-Defining Chaplaincy” document is a direct attack on conservative Lutherans, historic Roman Catholics, and other Biblically-based and conservative denominations, who they no longer wish to employ. The claim is that traditional church bodies that, say, do not ordain women or accept the homosexual lifestyle are sexist and homophobic is unsubstantiated, ignorant, and absurd.

Systemic Racism in East Palestine

White privilege means poisoned water and air.

Two years ago, Transportation Secretary Buttigieg announced that he was making the fight against “systemic racism” into the core of his job. The failed South Bend mayor came out of the gate claiming that highways were racist. Last year, he went to Birmingham to announce the launch of a $1 billion plan to tear down racist highways and implement transportation equity.

In Canada, MAID has become a matter of ideology

Now that the federal government has introduced a bill to delay implementing psychiatric MAID – assisted dying for people whose sole underlying condition is a mental illness – this is a good time to step back and reflect on how Canada got here. Last week’s release of a joint parliamentary committee’s report on MAID only adds to the need for such reflection.

BC Teacher Fired After Comment on Residential School Deaths

A B.C. high school teacher was escorted out of his classroom by two staff members after telling students the majority of residential school deaths were caused by illness.

“I was walked out like a criminal. They can’t walk a teacher out of school unless the teacher is a direct harm and immediate harm to children,” Jim McMurtry of Abbotsford, B.C., told The Epoch Times. “I wasn’t a harm to children because I made one comment that was historically true.”
