German authorities have arrested a man alleged to have passed intelligence information to Russia, German prosecutors said on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as Arthur E. in line with Germany’s privacy laws, was arrested on Sunday in Munich airport, as he arrived from the US.
German authorities were aided in their efforts by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
“Arthur E. took the information to Russia and handed it over to the intelligence service there,” said a statement from prosecutors.
Ottawa doesn’t need to brace this weekend for a replay of the convoy protest, says the new police chief, because “lots has changed since last year.”
For one thing, the chief has changed. OTTAWA — Conservative MPs will no longer be able to charge taxpayers for their home internet, according to the party’s whip.
The National Post reported earlier this week that 57 MPs claimed their home internet costs as part of their constituency office expenses. That included 28 Conservative MPs, the most of any party.

Liberal activists envision some far-reaching policy or regulation — such as the elimination of internal combustion engines or a ban on new gas stove installations — but they do so incrementally.
Oh dear. It seems that the world’s wokest newspaper is in a bit of a mess of its own making. Stung by criticism of its historic slave trade links and support for the Confederacy in 2020, the Guardian resolved to create an editorial project on its past. This included an upcoming podcast about the connections between its founder, John Edward Taylor, and transatlantic slavery. But in an unfortunate twist, three producers who were working on the series have accused the holier-than-thou media outlet of ‘institutional racism.’
The move can help Denmark meet its requirements under its NATO membership but it would also be “beneficial” for the military if it had more women employed, Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, the country’s defense minister and deputy prime minister, said in an interview with broadcaster TV2.
Currently, women can join on a voluntary basis while men generally are required to serve if they are called on under a lottery system, for a duration of four months for most. Kudos to Tucker Carlson for using the opening segment of his show last night, the highest-rated cable news program, to go over the insulting propositions that federal officials, notably including former AG William Barr, have tried to get the public to accept. Tucker dryly noted that Barr did not accept an invitation to appear on the show to respond.
