A statue of Baphomet – a pagan idol used in popular culture as a representation of the devil, with the head, horns and feet of a goat, the torso of a man and the wings of an angel – is the centrepiece of the Satanic Temple’s headquarters in Salem, Massachusetts.

More than 8ft (2.4 metres) tall, jet black and altogether unnerving, Baphomet serves as a reminder of what brought the Satanic Temple to fame. In 2013, the group, which is acknowledged as a religion by the US government, responded to the installation of a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the Oklahoma state capitol building – seemingly a flagrant abuse of the US constitution’s separation of church and state – by demanding that its own Baphomet statue also be positioned in the grounds. According to the first amendment, which protects freedom of religion, public spaces should be open to all religions or none, it argued.

One of the bigger mysteries to show up during the holiday season was the series of attacks on electrical substations in Washington state on Christmas day. Thousands of people were left without power just as their festivities were beginning, and the cost of repairs to the facilities is estimated to be in excess of three million dollars. We immediately began speculating on the motive for such attacks. Was this a group of domestic terrorists? Were anarchists trying to shut down society during a holiday period? Might foreign adversaries be involved?

Poll: Less Than Half of Germans Believe They Are “Completely” or “Very” Free

A new opinion survey, conducted at a time when the ruling left-liberal traffic coalition continues to pursue policies with very little, if any, regard at all for German interests, has revealed that less than half of Germans feel that their life is not “completely” or “very” free.

The ‘Freedom Index Germany 2022’ survey, carried out by Allensbach Institute for Public Opinion (IfD) and the Media Tenor research institute—and published by RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND) affiliated outlets—revealed that just 45% of the country’s population feel their life is “completely” or “very” free, up from a mere 36% at the end of 2021 amid draconian COVID-19 lockdowns.

Turkey’s ‘Crimes against Humanity’ and Illegal Occupation of Cyprus

On August 15, 1974, Pavlos Solomi, 42, and his son, Solomis Pavlou Solomi, 17, were arrested by Turks at their home in the Cypriot village of Komi Kepir during the second phase of Turkey’s military invasion of Cyprus.

Panagiota Pavlou Solomi spent the remainder of her life trying to find her missing husband and son. Finally, 43 years after their abduction, in 2017, their remains were found in Galatia Lake by the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP), which exhumed what was left of them. A funeral was held for the murdered father and son in March 2018, but not in their beloved village of Komi Kepir. That village is still illegally occupied by Turkey. The family buried the corpses in the free region of the Republic of Cyprus, where they currently reside.

Micro-rental in China where you can ‘sit on the toilet and cook’ sparks outrage

A studio for rent in China has gone viral after photographs advertising the six-square-metre property showed a man cooking while sitting on a toilet.

The listing, shared by property agents on Douyin, China’s TikTok shows off the micro-rental which is located under stairs and is being listed for 380 yuan (£45) per month.

The post put a renewed focus on the living standards of migrant and low-paid workers.

As we reported in this space in September, Canada’s reputation as an international woke embarrassment was buttressed by the enormous fake bust of an allegedly “transgender” shop teacher at a high school in Ontario’s Halton School District this fall. Photos went viral of a blond bewigged man strolling about with enormous Z-size prosthetic breasts strapped to his chest, replete with large protruding nipples. The school board announced that it would be standing behind the teacher (presumably this is the only safe place to stand around him), and the disbelief of pundits and the barely concealed incredulity of newscasters worldwide was chalked up to transphobia.

Harry and Meghan are profiting from Nelson Mandela, granddaughter claims

A granddaughter of Nelson Mandela has accused the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of using his legacy to promote their newest Netflix series, describing it as “deeply upsetting and tedious”.

Ndileka Mandela said she admired Meghan and Prince Harry for leaving their royal duties but criticised their involvement in Live to Lead, a documentary series profiling public figures. The Mandelas have made no money from it, she told The Australian.

EDMONTON—When Ron Zazulak joined the RCMP, it was seen as the “big leagues” of policing, he says.

He doesn’t think that’s the case anymore. And there are indications he’s not alone in his opinion.

Zazulak spent a career with the Mounties after joining the force in the 1960s. When he retired in 2000, he bought a farm with his wife and spent years living in rural Alberta near St. Lina, where they bordered three different RCMP detachment areas — the closest one being in St. Paul, 40 minutes away.

Just over half of Canadians want Liberals to ditch Trudeau as leader before next election

More than half of Canadians think the Liberals should ditch Justin Trudeau as leader before the next federal election, while 45 per cent think the Conservatives should find an alternative to their new leader, Pierre Poilievre, a Nanos poll for The Globe and Mail shows.

The Canada-wide survey of 1,021 people found that 51 per cent of people want the federal Liberals to replace Mr. Trudeau, while a quarter want him to stay on.

Canadians are right to worry about immigration levels

… Immigrants not only add to the demand for housing, they also increase congestion for a wide range of public services: doctors, hospitals, schools, universities, parks, retirement homes, and roads and bridges, as well as the utilities that supply water, electricity and sewers. In theory, the supply of all these things could be expanded reasonably rapidly. In practice, expansion is slow. But the main reasons for that are, not a shortage of labour, but inadequate planning, insufficient financial resources and, as a result, construction that lags demand.

The case for keeping annual immigration at traditional or even somewhat lower levels rests on more than the effect on house prices and public services, however. Immigration also depresses the wages of low-income workers, which results in greater income-equalizing transfers and the higher taxes required to pay for them. It also reduces employers’ incentives to adopt labour-saving technology, an important source of growth in labour productivity and wages, and it allows employers to avoid the cost of operating apprenticeship programs to train skilled workers.

Why isn’t Poilievre speaking out about the immigration scam? Why not Jagmeet, he of the working people’s party?

Because they seek to please their corporate masters as Justin does. They don’t give a damn about you or your children. They don’t give a damn where the bodies come from or the damage they inflict on Canada. They just want a place at the public trough and providing wage slaves ensures the corporate class will back them.

Canada’s immigration policy is Corporate welfare no ifs ands or buts.
