Days after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reaffirmed the Biden administration’s commitment to the “two-state solution,” the Palestinians responded by repeating their rejection of the idea and their support for more terrorism against Israel.

The Palestinian response came through a public opinion poll published on December 13 by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research and statements by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas that controls the Gaza Strip.

The poll found that 69% of Palestinians believe that the “two-state solution” is no longer practical or feasible. Another 72% believe that the chances for the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel in the next five years are slim or nonexistent.

Canada will attempt to confiscate assets from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich

OTTAWA – The federal government says it plans to target a Russian oligarch using a law to confiscate and divert assets held by people who have been sanctioned.

Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly says Canada will try to seize and forfeit US$26 million, or about C$36 million, from a firm owned by Roman Abramovich.

Abramovich is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the former owner of Chelsea Football Club in England.

When the shock wears off, and after one notes that the study it’s based on has yet to undergo peer-review, the bottom line is pretty simple: Don’t handle corpses, it might be bad for you, in case you didn’t know that already. And then there’s yet another big Mandavilli math error in the direction of alarmism.

Jan. 6 panel recommends 4 criminal charges for Trump over Capitol riot

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump should face criminal charges for his actions in connection with last year’s Capitol riot, according to the House select committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, 2021.

The bipartisan panel recommended the Justice Department charge the 76-year-old Trump with insurrection, obstruction of an official proceeding, making false statements to investigators, and conspiracy to defraud the US government, after discovering the former president pushed claims he knew were false about the 2020 presidential election.

Ex-girlfriend of FTX founder ‘has a choice to make’ as she reportedly cooperates with officials

The girlfriend of disgraced FTX founder Samuel Bankman-Fried reportedly cooperated with federal officials, it was revealed, shortly after he was arrested in the Bahamas in connection with the collapse of his crypto empire.

Former U.S. attorney Marc Litt, who was involved in prosecuting Bernie Madoff, joined “Fox & Friends Weekend” Sunday to discuss the report alleging Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison worked with officials in relation to the charges.

“It wouldn’t surprise me at all,” Litt told Will Cain regarding the report. “She was the CEO of a company that seems to be intimately involved in the alleged fraud, and she’s… in the cross-hairs of the government… and she’s got a choice to make.”

The congressional inquiry into last year’s Capitol riot will reportedly recommend three criminal charges against former President Donald Trump.

The House of Representatives panel will seek an unprecedented charge of insurrection against a former US president, according to US media.

The criminal referrals to the justice department will be disclosed on Monday, along with most of the final report.

The department is already investigating Mr Trump’s role in the unrest.

Germany’s armed forces, the Bundeswehr, has been experiencing serious technical problems with its Puma infantry fighting vehicles, according to a report in Der Spiegel magazine on Saturday.

After a training exercise involving 18 state-of-the-art Puma infantry fighting vehicles, not a single one was left operational, the report said.

The situation has caused a stir in the Defense Ministry because the vehicles are supposed to participate in NATO’s spearhead Very High Readiness Joint Task Force next year.

The German military faced yet another PR disaster on Monday morning after reports emerged over the weekend that a training exercise involving one of its key weapons, the Puma tank, left not a single one operational.

Brazil, speaking for developing countries during the week, said in a statement that a new funding mechanism dedicated to biodiversity should be established and that developed countries provide $100 billion annually in financial grants to emerging economies until 2030.
