Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried arrested in The Bahamas after apparent charges filed in US

Disgraced crypto king Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested by authorities in the Bahamas Monday night after criminal charges were filed in the US.

The 30-year-old was taken into custody after the Bahamian government received formal notification from the US of the charges against him, the Office of Attorney General in the Bahamas said.

Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed Bankman-Fried’s arrest, but would not elaborate on what the charges were.

These allegations are part of an ongoing massive campaign of incitement waged by the Palestinians and anti-Semites around the world to invalidate the State of Israel and vilify Jews.

Majidreza Rahnavard: Iran carries out second execution over protests

Iran says it has publicly hanged a 23-year-old in what is the second execution linked to the recent anti-government protests.

Majidreza Rahnavard, 23, was hanged early on Monday in the city of Mashhad, the judiciary said.

A court convicted him of “enmity against God” after finding he had stabbed to death two members of the paramilitary Basij Resistance Force.

Caroline Ellison hires lawyer as US reportedly weighs fraud case against Sam Bankman-Fried

US prosecutors are reportedly assembling a potential fraud indictment against disgraced crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried — and speculation is growing that his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison could become a stool pigeon in the case.

Justice Department officials in the Southern District of New York are reportedly scrutinizing the alleged transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars from the US to the Bahamas right around the time that his FTX cryptocurrency exchange filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to Bloomberg News.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan also are probing whether Bankman-Fried manipulated crypto markets by orchestrating trades that led to the collapse of the TerraUSD cryptocurrency earlier this year, according to previous reports.

Possibly the largest single group of migrants illegally crossed into the U.S. Sunday night as Border Patrol braces for increased activity along the border with just nine days left until Title 42 ends.

A group of 1,000 migrants, mostly from Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico into El Paso, Texas over the weekend.

At least hundreds of the illegal border hoppers were released onto the streets of U.S. cities.

Son of Barry and Honey Sherman adds $25M to reward to help solve parents’ homicides

This week marks five years since Toronto billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman were killed in their home, and their son — Jonathon Sherman — has announced he’s adding $25 million to the reward set up to help solve the case.

The Shermans were found slain in their North York mansion on Dec. 15, 2017. Autopsy reports showed the couple died by strangulation, and police have said there were no signs of forced entry to their home.

“Closure will not be possible until those responsible for this evil act are brought to justice,” Jonathon Sherman said in a statement shared exclusively with CBC Toronto.

This is the “Son” a sibling has accused of being complicit in the murders.
