‘Tears of Thousands of Canadians on My Shoulder’: Tamara Lich Gives Emotional Testimony at Emergencies Act Inquiry

Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich, a mother and grandmother from Medicine Hat, explained why she got involved in the protest movement during her Nov. 3 testimony at the public inquiry into the use of the Emergencies Act to end convoy protests earlier this year.

“I was growing increasingly alarmed with the mandates and the harm that I was seeing the mandates inflict,” said Lich, who got emotional several times during her testimony. “I heard from families that were living in their vehicles because they’d lost their jobs. I heard from people that had lost their jobs and lost everything. I have the tears of thousands of Canadians on my shoulder, who everyday told me that we were bringing them hope.”

TORONTO — Ontario education workers hit the picket lines Friday morning in the first day of an illegal strike as the education minister takes them to the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Education workers represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees’ were picketing at politicians’ offices, including hundreds outside the education minister’s constituency office in Vaughan, Ont., along with a large protest planned for the legislature, where hundreds of people were already gathered on the lawn.

Former Mountie tasked with protecting Trudeau may have leaked PM’s schedule: police report

A former member of Justin Trudeau’s security team may have leaked the prime minister’s schedule, according to an intelligence document tabled before the inquiry investigating the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act last winter.

An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) “person of interest” profile citing the RCMP says a former RCMP officer is “believed to have leaked the prime minister’s schedule a few months ago.” The document is dated January 30, 2022.

The document said the individual — whose name is redacted — resigned from the RCMP in 2021 in response to the federal government’s vaccine mandate for Mounties. The mandate went into effect on October 6, 2021.

What schedule? Junior barely “works.”

Petro-Canada issues huge EV charging fee increase across the country, one week after acknowledging how unreliable their network is

Plugging in and charging on Petro-Canada’s Electric Highway just got a lot more expensive for EV owners. Instead of billing owners at differing rates in each province, the oil giant has now instituted a flat rate across the country.

According to the Petro-Canada website, the standard EV charging fee for all of Canada is now $0.50 per minute.

What makes this price increase even more difficult to understand is that just last week Petro-Canada published an open letter acknowledging how unreliable their EV charging network is.

Benjamin Dichter, one of the Freedom Convoy’s main organizers, took the stand on Nov. 3 at the Public Order Emergency Commission, testifying that he distrusted most of the media covering the demonstrations because the outlets focused on controversial figures and misrepresented protesters.

Dichter said that the “legacy media” and resulting concerns over public perception prompted the convoy to put out public statements distancing the protest from any possible or potential future violence.

Families bereaved by the Manchester Arena bombing have blasted the emergency services for failing their loved ones after a damning report published today found that two of those who died in the terror attack could have survived with better treatment.

The family of John Atkinson, said he was left dying on the floor ‘without his dignity’ and was ‘failed at every stage’ after an inquiry found the injuries he suffered were ‘survivable’ but ‘inadequacies in the emergency response’ were likely to have resulted in his death.

The parents of Saffie-Rose Roussos, eight, the youngest victim of the attack, said they believed in their hearts their little girl ‘would have survived had she been given correct medical attention that she needed’.

The bureau seeks to delay the release of information from the laptop of murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich for 66 years.

United States District Judge Amos Mazzant on September 29 issued a 53-page ruling ordering the Federal Bureau of Investigation to hand over information from the laptop computer of Seth Rich to a Texas man who had filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Mazzant, an Obama appointee, gave the FBI 14 days to hand over the information, but the bureau failed to comply. As the Epoch Times reported last week, the FBI wants the court to reverse the order. If the court declines, the FBI wants 66 years to produce the data, which the bureau previously denied it possessed.

Seth Rich was a digital campaigner with the Democratic National Committee. On July 10, 2016, the 27-year-old DNC staffer was gunned down in Washington, D.C. Police called it a street robbery gone wrong, but the shooters did not take Rich’s wallet, watch, or phone. Weeks after the murder, as the BBC reported, “Wikileaks published 20,000 emails obtained from Democratic National Committee computers via an anonymous source.”

Iranian security forces have opened fire on crowds near Tehran marking the 40th day of mourning for a woman shot dead while protesting, witnesses say.

Videos showed thousands walking along roads to reach the grave in Karaj of Hadis Najafi, who has become a symbol of the anti-government unrest in Iran.

State-run media say “rioters” killed a militiaman and injured 10 police.

But witnesses told the BBC that security forces attacked protesters with shotguns, tear gas and machetes.
