National Guard struggles as troops leave at faster pace

WASHINGTON (AP) — Soldiers are leaving the Army National Guard at a faster rate than they are enlisting, fueling concerns that in the coming years units around the country may not meet military requirements for overseas and other deployments.

For individual states, which rely on their Guard members for a wide range of missions, it means some are falling short of their troop totals this year, while others may fare better. But the losses comes as many are facing an active hurricane season, fires in the West and continued demand for units overseas, including combat tours in Syria and training missions in Europe for nations worried about threats from Russia.

Tarasenko, a businessman, was romantically involved with Inna Yashchyshyn, 33, who reportedly posed as a fake heiress to the Rothschild fortune to infiltrate Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

Canada is in serious trouble. To arrive at that conclusion, all one need do is pay attention. In evident violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms embedded in the Constitution, essential to a functioning democracy, Canada was one of the few countries in the world determined to coerce vaccine mandates and impose possibly illegal travel apps and quarantine protocols. These measures have been paused, but the government obviously maintains the right to re-impose them at a moment’s notice. “The process and app remain in place.”

Undeterred in his march toward despotic rule, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is poised to introduce a digital currency, which will give the government financial control of banking and discretionary spending at the expense of private citizens and consumers.

‘Tragic’ decision by union sees institution accused of ‘racial segregation’ and sowing ‘interethnic suspicion and division’

A student union has been accused of “racial segregation” after banning white students from Black History Month events.

The University of Westminster’s student union has told students that some events will be “reserved for black students to encourage a safe space for discussions and honest conversations”. In an email to students it did not specify which events would be restricted in the programme of talks, film screenings and dance nights.

‘Malicious and targeted’ sabotage halts rail traffic in northern Germany

BERLIN (Reuters) -Cables vital for the rail network were intentionally cut in two places causing a near three-hour halt to all rail traffic in northern Germany on Saturday morning, in what authorities called an act of sabotage without identifying who might be responsible.

The federal police are investigating the incident, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said, adding the motive for it was unclear.

The disruption raised alarm bells after NATO and the European Union last month stressed the need to protect critical infrastructure after what they called acts of sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

Crimea bridge: Russia says three killed by explosion

A huge blast on Russia’s bridge to Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula it annexed in 2014, has killed three people, investigators say.

The victims were in a nearby car when a lorry blew up, the Russian investigators said, bringing down sections of the bridge’s roadway.

Russia says the railway part of the bridge – where oil tankers caught fire – will reopen on Saturday.

They also claim road traffic will begin on an undamaged lane this evening.

Self-driving vehicles will be a boon to terrorists.
