A suspect has been killed after separate shootings in Mississauga and Milton left a total of two people dead and three injured on Monday.
Two separate shootings were reported in Peel and Halton regions, before a multi-jurisdiction police operation resulted in the death of the suspect in Hamilton.
The first incident was reported in Mississauga, where police said one person was killed and another taken to a local trauma centre. Multiple sources told Global News the victim of the fatal shooting in Mississauga was a Toronto police officer.

In a tweet, Peel Regional Police said they responded to an incident in the Argentia Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard area at around 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

A New York judge has been accused of making vile homophobic and racist remarks in her courthouse.
Judge Harriet Thompson allegedly said in the Brooklyn Surrogate Court that homosexuality is an ‘abomination’ and assumed people with a Spanish-sounding name were ‘liars’.
The judge is accused of making the remarks before she was removed from the bench in December last year but they have only just been made public, as she continues her fight to get back her job claiming she is the victim of a ‘political hit’.
