3 Arkansas officers suspended after video of violent arrest emerges
Three cops in Arkansas were suspended after a video emerged that showed them brutally beating a detainee.
In the TikTok video posted on Twitter, one officer holds the man down to the ground as another repeatedly and relentlessly punches the man’s head and a third forcibly nails him with his knee multiple times in a row.
At one point, the officer punching the man in the head lifts the man’s head up from the ground and slams it back down into the cement sidewalk as the man tries to protect his head with his hands, the video shows.

56% of Canadians say they can’t keep pace with high cost of living, according to survey
Over half of Canadians say they can’t keep pace with the current cost of living, according to a survey released Monday by the Angus Reid Institute.
The polling firm surveyed 2,279 Canadian adults who are members of the Angus Reid Forum from Aug. 8-10 and found that 56 per cent of them are struggling to keep up as high inflation and interest rates force them to tighten their belts.
Four in five respondents, or 80 per cent, said they have reduced some kind of spending in the last few months, with 57 per cent reporting they have trimmed discretionary expenses.

Behind the apparently-toothless target is a series of funding commitments: $631 million for carbon sequestration on properties including farmland, $98 million for an agricultural “climate solution” fund and $167 million for efficient technology research and subsidies. In 2022, another $550 million was added to the various initiatives.

Atlanta man arrested after allegedly spray-painting swastikas on rainbow crosswalk, SWAT standoff
A man accused of vandalizing the rainbow crosswalks in Atlanta with swastikas was arrested following a standoff with police this week.
The suspect is believed to have spray-painted a swastika onto the rainbow crosswalk at 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue on two separate occasions, according to Atlanta police.
Investigators went to the suspect’s apartment at around noon on Friday. A SWAT Team was called in after the man would not respond to officers.
