Soaring international energy prices have brought power blackouts to Europe as Kosovo said it could no longer afford to import electricity, adding to fears that tensions with Russia will plunge the continent into crisis this winter.

Consumers in the Balkan state have been told they will be allowed six hours of power at a time, punctuated by two-hour breaks, according to a spokesperson for its energy distribution company, KEDS.

Video shows Russian soldiers firing on Canadian volunteer fighters in Ukraine

In the scrubby bush of a southern Ukraine battlefield, the enemy is hard to see but clearly a looming threat.

Four soldiers fire repeated rounds through a curtain of flimsy trees as their unit beats a halting escape from the Russian troops.

“Move, move, move,” someone urges, his command rising above the clutter of English and Ukrainian voices.

Is the Transgender Cult in Trouble Now?

The transgender cult has been targeting our children for some time now, and as long as this has been going on, many of us have been wondering why more people in the gay community weren’t speaking out about these dangerous grooming practices. Drag queen readings, transgender closets in schools, graphic sex ed, gender transitions for little children… you don’t have to be heterosexual to see these are dangerous.

The Atlantic Compares Catholic Rosary to Assault Weapon

ROME — The Atlantic has likened the rosary to an AR-15 assault weapon in an incendiary attack Sunday on conservative Catholics.

“Just as the AR-15 rifle has become a sacred object for Christian nationalists in general, the rosary has acquired a militaristic meaning for radical-traditional (or ‘rad trad’) Catholics,” writes Toronto-based Daniel Panneton in an Atlantic article released the day before the Catholic feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (August 15).

“’I feel sorry for Mr Rushdie,” Fardos said.

Chris Sankey: Why, as an Indigenous-Canadian, I will be voting Conservative in the next election

Over the last seven years, I have had to take a long look in the mirror. As an Indigenous person, I ask myself, “What do I aspire to be? What do I want for my family? What do I want for my children and my grandchildren?” The troubling policies brought forth by Canada’s Liberal government have infuriated me. I am now genuinely worried for my children’s future.

I dunno, that guy with the pronouns in his Twitter bio has pretty much soured me on voting CPC – ever again.

‘Privileged‘ White Working Class Boys to Fall Further Behind In Education

The post-lockdown British education system will likely see white working-class boys falling even further behind compared to children from other backgrounds, one expert has said.

In the wake of two years of on-and-off Wuhan virus lockdowns, white working-class boys are likely to be the biggest losers when it comes to education, with one expert predicting that this year’s state exam results will show the demographic falling even further behind when it comes to university admissions.

Iran’s Proxy War Against Israel Caused by Biden’s Weakness

The recent war between Israel and the Iranian-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) organization in the Gaza Strip should be seen, according to several Arab political analysts and authors, in the context of Tehran’s mullahs’ attempts to force the Biden administration to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. By unleashing Islamic Jihad against Israel, the mullahs are apparently trying to tell the Biden Administration, “You see what we are capable of doing? We have a number of militias and armed groups that could attack Israel and Arab countries. Hurry up and give us (Iran) everything we want before it is too late. Remove the Revolutionary Guard from the list of foreign terrorists. Give us billions of dollars or else we will continue to attack America’s Arab and Israeli friends. Hurry up and sign a new nuclear deal with us or else we will be angry at the US and we will continue to attack Israel and kill Jews.”

Americans wise up to Green-Scam

AP-NORC poll: Many in US doubt their own impact on climate

WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans are less concerned now about how climate change might impact them personally — and about how their personal choices affect the climate — than they were three years ago, a new poll shows, even as a wide majority still believe climate change is happening.

The June Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, which was conducted before Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act on Friday, shows majorities of U.S. adults think the government and corporations have a significant responsibility to address climate change. The new law will invest nearly $375 billion in climate strategies over the next decade.

Afghanistan and the Collapse of Normals’ Faith in the System

I don’t want to hear any more about how there is a two-track justice system in America, or about how the media consists of lying regime toe-suckers, or about how our institutions are garbage entities run by garbage people producing garbage results. I know all that, and so do you. We’re based, conservative woke, and we know what time it is. It’s Backlash O’clock and it is time to party.

So it’s actually getting to be a cliché to point out the utter incompetence, corruption, and unsupported self-regard of our would-be betters.

Iran says Salman Rushdie and supporters to blame for his attack

Salman Rushdie, who was stabbed repeatedly at a public appearance in New York state, and his supporters are to blame for the attack, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson has said.

Freedom of speech did not justify Rushdie’s insults upon religion in his writing, Nasser Kanaani said in a press briefing on Monday.

Iran has no other information about Rushdie’s alleged assailant except what has appeared in media, he added.

A year after the fall of Kabul, Canadian veterans urge Ottawa not to abandon Afghans trying to flee

It’s been one year since Kabul fell to the Taliban after American and allied troops — including Canadians — left the country.

Video footage showed Afghans streaming onto the tarmac at the Kabul airport, desperate to escape, as a U.S. air force plane took off. Some fell to their death trying to hold on.

“We watched that terrible situation unfold … we saw that tremendous catastrophe that happened in Kabul,” said Brian Macdonald.

While Canada certainly shoulders some of the blame for the Afghan debacle the deal was only to assist those who helped our efforts directly i.e. Interpreters and not massive numbers of refugees ill-suited to our culture.
