On Tuesday, despite months of intimidation from far-left LGBTQ activists, the Emmys gave Dave Chappelle’s The Closer not one but two nominations in the categories of outstanding pre-recorded variety special and direction of a variety special.
Canadian food suppliers are once again issuing notices to grocery retailers informing them of upcoming price hikes.
The letters signal more price increases will hit grocery stores this fall in a year that has already seen nearly double digit increases in food costs.

President Joe Biden has been lying about his knowledge and likely his involvement in his son’s business dealings since at least 2018.
That is the inescapable conclusion to draw from a short voicemail recording discovered on the laptop computer that belonged to his son, Hunter and reported by The Daily Mail and The New York Post recently.
It begins innocently enough. “Hey pal, it’s Dad,” Joe Biden begins. “It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance, just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you.”
There has been much public evidence that the Biden administration has pressured large social media and tech companies to censor political opponents under the guise of designating such speech “disinformation” or “misinformation.”

Conservative Party of Canada MP and leadership candidate Dr. Leslyn Lewis blasted the current cancel-culture crusade against red meat through pushing bugs as a source of food.
“Mega corporations shouldn’t be buying up all our farmland. Governments shouldn’t be interfering in how we farm. Bugs are not beef. Let’s stand up for farmers and protect our food security,” Lewis tweeted Saturday in reference to a report about a government-subsidized cricket farm being opened in Canada.
IGNORED in the media feeding frenzy over Johnson’s resignation were no fewer than 30,000 Dutch farmers who last week rose up in protest against new nitrogen emission limits set by their government and who are fast bringing their country to a halt. You would think it would be a lead new story, but no.
Only yesterday did any British mainstream newspaper pay attention to this huge story. The Independent took time out to tell its readers that ‘Anger simmers for Dutch farmers who oppose pollution cuts’.
That is not how social and alternative news media outlets have been reporting this drama.
OTTAWA – Federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault’s promise to travel by train across Canada to talk to people about emissions was derailed by the lack of rail routes available to cross the country.
In November, Guilbeault announced in Glasgow during the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference — commonly known as COP26 — that he would be hopping on Via Rail trains in the upcoming months to tour the country and discuss climate change.
The disparity in experiences shared showcased how polarizing the protests have become. To supporters, the protesters were “the most peaceful Canadian citizens ever to gather downtown.” Meanwhile, residents haunted by the sound of horns or the smell of diesel in their neighbourhoods described them as “white nationalists” and said they felt terrorized.

The federal Liberal government relented to pressure from the German government to send a turbine, which had been undergoing maintenance in Montreal, back to Russia where it can be installed into Russia’s Nord Stream pipeline, which carries natural gas to Europe.
Took my cat to the vet yesterday.
He got 3 year shots for Feline HIV and Rabies.
He was OK during his examination but did put up a bit of a fight when we tried to put him back in the carrier for the trip home.
He has always been stressed by car rides. But it’s been a year since his last vet visit.
He ate a bit when we got home and seemed Ok if a little less active than is usual.
This morning when I got up and made coffee I found him sleeping on the bed in the spare room.
Normally he is in the Kitchen as I wake waiting to be fed.
I gave him a pet as I suspected he was a bit upset from the trip and the shots.
He then hid under the bed. He came out when I called but seemed fearful and when I picked him up he started to growl and hiss but did not lash out in bites or scratching.
I set him down by his food dish but he would not eat.
He seems traumatized, one minute rubbing up against my leg and the next back to a fearful state.
His carrier was still on the floor. It seemed to make him anxious so I have hidden it away.
Now he’s hiding under the bed again.
I sprayed a bit of Feliway cat pheromones there hoping to calm him down.
He has been a problem cat, scratching furniture and biting “for fun.”
He is in need of constant attention.
I scruff him and give him time outs and have used a spray bottle on him when he gets out of hand.
I have never considered him a “mean” cat, poorly socialized perhaps and maybe a little more feral than I thought when I got him at 8 weeks.
He just seems to lack a filter.
Anybody have any suggestions?
The Bank of Canada has increased its benchmark interest rate by a full percentage point, taking a larger than expected hike to tame decades-high levels of inflation.

Maher al-Agal, a leader of the so-called Islamic State (IS) group in Syria, has been killed in a US drone strike, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.
Al-Agal is one of the top five leaders of the militant group. Sources say he was responsible for developing IS networks outside Syria and Iraq.
Sources said al-Agal was killed while riding a motorcycle near Jindayris in Syria, and one of his top aides was seriously injured.
