First migrant bus from Texas arrives in DC, drops them blocks from Capitol

The first bus filled with dozens of illegal immigrants from Texas arrived in Washington, DC, Wednesday, one week after Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to transport migrants in the US illegally to the nation’s capital as the immigration crisis along the southern border grows.

The bus arrived in Washington around 8 a.m., parking blocks away from the US Capitol in front of the building that houses Fox News, NBC News and C-SPAN.

TikTok suspends Welsh farmer for ‘bullying & harassing’ vegans after he posted video of him with a Turnip & explained vegetables are fertilised with manure

A celebrity farmer was kicked off TikTok for making light-hearted videos about vegans after he brandished a turnip while telling them there is no such thing as cruelty free food.

Gareth Wyn Jones’, 55, most recent clip aimed at veganism highlighted the fact that lots of vegetables, including the turnip he held in his hand, use cow manure as fertiliser.

Less than a day after posting this educational video, the Conwy producer discovered he had been banned from the platform, for ‘harassment and bullying’.

Charest reveals himself to be a Laurentian elitist

Seems as if it was just a month ago that federal Conservative leadership contender Jean Charest was telling Conservative MPs at an Ottawa gathering that he was not a red Tory. True blue.

Charest also pledged not to “run against so-cons” – the party supporters, mostly religious, who are generally opposed to abortion, same-sex marriage and transgender rights.

It seems like only a month ago, because it was only a month ago.

Warner Bros Kowtows To Communist China And Removes Gay Dialogue From Fantastic Beasts Film

References to a gay relationship in the new Fantastic Beasts movie were removed by Warner Bros for Chinese audiences.

Six seconds of the third instalment, The Secrets of Dumbledore, which alluded to the romantic past between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, were cut.

Harry Potter author JK Rowling said Dumbledore was gay in 2007, but the movies had never explicitly referenced his sexuality until now.

The producers, Warner Bros, said the “spirit of the film remains”.

Hollywood used to entertain now it only disgusts.

Ukraine War: The Moral Corruption of Germany’s Political Elite

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is forcing a long-overdue reevaluation of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s legacy of appeasing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Questions are being belatedly asked — and grudgingly answered — about many aspects of Merkel’s failed Russia policy, including her decisions to block Ukraine’s prospective membership of NATO, gut the German military, undermine the transatlantic alliance, and institutionalize Germany’s overdependence on Russian energy supplies.

A growing number of commentators in Germany and elsewhere are saying that Merkel’s years-long deference to Putin made his invasion of Ukraine possible, and some are even accusing Germany of being complicit in the war.

I am getting a bit tired of the Ukraine – Russia conflict. What sort of war has half of Europe still sucking on Russia’s tit for gas?

Trudeau and Freedolph appear solely interested in using the conflict as a front for pushing their ludicrous green agenda.

How swearing became a weapon of resistance for Ukrainians

“Russian Warship – Fuck Off”

Aman, cigarette jammed into his mouth, carries a land mine off a road. A woman teases a tank driver with threats of witchcraft. A coastguard responds to the threat of bombardment with the now infamous line “Russian warship, fuck off”. The people in these viral videos, as in many others that have emerged from Ukraine’s resistance to Russia’s barbaric invasion, are doing the same three things: they are showing incredible courage in defending their homeland, they are speaking Russian, and they are swearing.

Liberals are infecting our military and police forces with wokeism. We will all pay the price

Years ago, American political philosopher Harvey Mansfield made a troubling observation that I cited in these pages five years ago. In case you’ve forgotten, events conspire to remind you that, and I quote a paraphrase not the original, “it may be possible to impose perfect justice, but … people may not be in a mood to live together when you are finished.” For instance, in the Canadian military.

If you were a young straight male would you bank on a future in the armed forces? I don’t believe going woke is going to fix their recruitment shortfall. Why would anyone sign on to an organization opposed to their personal values and that holds their very existence in contempt as the root cause of whatever mental illness its woke members care to declare.

National Muslim charity launching legal challenge of CRA audit, calling it Islamophobic

A national charity that describes itself as Canada’s largest grassroots Muslim organization is launching a Charter of Rights challenge against the Canada Revenue Agency, claiming that a years-long audit of the charity has been tainted by bias and Islamophobia.

The Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) plans to serve the government with its formal legal challenge today.

MAC said the audit, which began in 2015, poses an “existential threat” to the organization because it threatens to revoke its charitable status and raises the possibility of damaging sanctions.

“An unfair decision by the CRA will affect the lives of thousands of Canadians overnight,” MAC chairperson Nabil Sultan told CBC News.

MAC is the Muslim Brotherhood.

More than 1,000 Ukraine marines have surrendered in Mariupol, says Russia

More than 1,000 Ukrainian marines defending the besieged port city of Mariupol have surrendered, Moscow has said, as the presidents of four countries bordering Russia head to Kyiv in a show of support for Ukraine.

In one of the most critical battles of the war, Russia’s defence ministry said on Wednesday 1,026 soldiers from Ukraine’s 36th Marine Brigade, including 162 officers, had “voluntarily laid down their arms” near the city’s Ilyich iron and steelworks.

There was no independent confirmation of the claim.

Analysis: Looming battle in Donbas to shape course of Russia’s war in Ukraine

LONDON, April 13 (Reuters) – Russia is beefing up its forces for a new assault on Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region, setting the stage for a protracted battle that is certain to inflict heavy losses on both sides as the Russians try to encircle Ukraine’s fighters, analysts said.

Military analysts are wary of predicting who will win the battle for Ukraine’s industrial heartland of Donbas, a crucial conflict that will likely be brutal and ultimately define the course of the war.

Data backs up younger voters’ excitement over Pierre Poilievre

Pierre Poilievre is upending every conventional assumption about Canadian politics.

There is growing evidence that the Carleton MP has successfully tapped into the anger and frustration of younger suburban voters who believe they have been denied the right to home ownership and job security by “gatekeepers,” as Mr. Poilievre calls them, who have been acting in their own, selfish, interests.

We have been seeing it in the packed rooms where hundreds, even thousands, have gathered to hear and be photographed with the Conservative leadership candidate. And now we have data to back it up.

I still won’t back him if he remains committed to mass immigration – a policy that even the LPC now admits has helped “create” the housing shortage.

Bank of Canada hikes benchmark interest rate to 1%

The Bank of Canada hiked its benchmark interest rate by half a percentage point to one per cent on Wednesday in its latest move to rein in high inflation.

The bank’s rate impacts Canadian businesses and consumers by influencing the rates they pay and receive on things like mortgages, GICs and savings accounts.

The bank slashed its rate to barely above zero in March of 2020 when the pandemic began.

While the move helped the economy to weather the unprecedented uncertainty of COVID-19, in recent months, inflation has come roaring back to its highest level in decades, prompting the central bank to start unwinding all that cheap credit.

NYPD person of interest Frank R. James’ YouTube tirades about race, guns and Eric Adams exposed

A troubled man who railed against Mayor Eric Adams and made bizarre, threatening rants on YouTube has been identified as a person of interest in the savage Brooklyn subway attack that injured at least 23 people Tuesday morning, officials said.

Frank James — who warned last month that he was “entering the danger zone” — rented a U-Haul van tied to the N train attack in Sunset Park and is being sought for questioning, police said at an evening briefing.

How Iran Built Hezbollah Into a Top Cyber Power

Since the Stuxnet attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Tehran has focused on expanding its cyber operations and digital surveillance capabilities. Iran sees its ally, Hezbollah, as a key part of its enhanced cyber program. The Iranian government has provided cyber training and technology to Hezbollah operatives and recently helped the Lebanese-based Shia terrorist group build its own counterintelligence cyber unit. This is a new development: in 2018, a Carnegie Endowment for Peace report noted how “there has been little prior evidence of direct sharing of [cyber] tools” between Iran and Hezbollah. After the collapse of the Islamic State caliphate, Hezbollah has taken on the mantle of being the most sophisticated and influential Middle Eastern terrorist organization in cyberspace.

China’s Lessons From Russia’s War in Ukraine

SAN FRANCISCO — China is learning from Russia’s troubled war in Ukraine to improve its battle strategies and prepare for economic sanctions if Beijing ever attacks self-ruled Taiwan, experts believe.

The country may also be looking harder at peaceful solutions for Taiwan, they say.

Russia is facing stronger-than-expected military resistance in Ukraine since its invasion on February 24, especially in the streets, along with stiff Western-led economic sanctions and stepped-up military aid from abroad.
