“Traitor” is too strong a word to describe Gu but I understand why some of her critics have reached for it to capture the depth of the betrayal of which she’s guilty.

Gu is the breakout star of the Olympics, having won two golds and a silver in skiing. She’s also a talented pianist, scored 1580 on her SATs, got into Stanford, and is so gorgeous that she models professionally. She’s a California girl, born in San Francisco to a Chinese-American mother. She should be the pride of the U.S.

She’s a national disgrace. She chose to compete for a genocidal regime, China, at the Genocide Games rather than for her home country.

Near the U.S. border in Surrey, B.C., a cameraman’s equipment is shoved off his shoulder and two men spit on him. A demonstrator follows another journalist closely, yelling that he is a “disgusting, filthy human being,” while police escort the reporter through a jeering crowd.

Experts and advocates say the treatment of journalists, captured in many cases on video, during recent protests against public health measures should be a wake-up call.

MPs to vote tonight on Liberals’ decision to invoke Emergencies Act for blockades

Designating no go zones within Canada’s capital, ensuring tow trucks were available to remove vehicles from city streets and stopping the flow of money and goods keeping anti-government demonstrators fed and fuelled are all clear ways the Emergencies Act helped end the Ottawa blockades, Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said on Sunday ahead of a House of Commons vote on the controversial measure.

Conservatives, however, are highly critical of the government move and some are pushing the Liberals to revoke the act now that blockades that effectively shut the city down for more than three weeks appear to be over.

“… Another local business that is open in downtown Ottawa is Iconic Cafè on Slater Street. While the owner declined an interview request because of how busy it was on Saturday afternoon, Nic Langman, an Orillia resident who has attended the protest for two of the three weekends, says the cafè has been more than accommodating to protesters.

On Saturday, the business well exceeded the six-person capacity limit posted outside its entrance. Customers could also be seen inside not following the mask mandate.

“The owner and his staff have been wonderful,” Langman said. “They are saying if someone needs to use a bathroom, they are more than welcome to come here.”

Dr. Robin MacGregor Murray, professor of psychiatric research at King’s College London, is sitting in his living room in Wimbledon, London. Up­stairs, his wife and colleague, Dr. Marta Di Forti, is talking with a patient over Zoom. The husband-and-wife team are two of the world’s leading researchers on cannabis and psychosis.

In 2004, the pair launched the Genetics and Psychotic Disorder study, examining the genetic and environmental causes of psychosis. Since 2019, Di Forti has been running the National Health Service’s first clinic for cannabis-induced psychosis. The initial pilot scheme had 20 patients. Demand for the service is only growing, with 30 or more patients participating by Zoom each week. Di Forti told the London Times that she gets “emails from parents and young people across the country asking to come to the clinic,” but they do not yet have the capacity. At present the staff are mostly operating virtually, on account of the pandemic, but they also admit roughly 200 patients to the hospital per year with florid cannabis-induced psychosis. In England, cannabis-related hospitalizations are on the rise, with a 57 percent in­crease between 2013 and 2018, from 19,765 to 31,130 patients.

Recently, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau essentially called Melissa Lantsman, a conservative member of the Canadian Parliament, a swastika-waving Nazi.  This wasn’t just the usual disgusting and preposterously hysterical hyperbole employed by leftists.  This was particularly egregious, as Lantsman is a descendant of Holocaust survivors.  But in what passes for the mind of the prime minister, she had to be savaged because she dared to defend the truckers who are protesting his draconian mandates and increasingly brutal police-state actions.

How leftist educators and the media are scaring – and scarring – our children.

I was afraid of witches as a child. Indeed, I was convinced that there was an old crone hanging out in my bedroom closet just waiting to pounce. Not sure where or how it began, but it ended when I decided to take every bit of clothing and assorted junk out of my closet to convince myself that there was no witch stirring her cauldron there. Tragically, kids today have so much more than one imaginary hag scaring the living daylights out of them. In fact, there are enough witches these days to make a sizable coven.

On February 24, 2020, a former judge of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Deepak Gupta, delivered a lecture to the Bar arguing that “the right to dissent is the most important right granted by the Constitution.”

Gupta took the ancient idea of challenging authority and gave it dignity: “To question, to challenge, to verify, to ask for accountability from the government is the right of every citizen under the constitution,” he said. “These rights should never be taken away otherwise we will become an unquestioning moribund society, which will not be able to develop any further.”
