Radical San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin came out Monday against Mayor London Breed’s new policy to expand police funding and declare a “state of emergency” in the crime- and drug-ravaged Tenderloin district downtown.
Boudin, the son of a convicted Weather Underground militant, was elected in 2019 on a promise to pursue criminal justice reform, like his predecessor, George Gascón, the George Soros-backed prosecutor who is now D.A. in Los Angeles County.
If you want one exemplar of the moral and intellectual chaos that characterizes the age in which we live, there are a number of candidates:
“Having fewer police leads to a decrease in violent crime” is one.
“Men give birth” is another.
Democrats claim that democracy is under attack in America and Democrats must act decisively to protect it. They’ve been trying to end the filibuster, nationalize voting, and pack the Supreme Court. The most ominous “fix,” which hinges on the myth of a “January 6 Insurrection,” sees retired generals argue that the military must purge the ranks of Trump supporters and prepare for a military coup to block a future contested election. This is unconstitutional, illegal, and spells the end of American democracy.
The freest nation on earth is now on the verge of creating a position not to protect human rights, but to protect a faith ideology.
Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s “Combating International Islamophobia Act,” a first of its kind, recently passed the House of Representatives (219-212) in a strict party line vote.Established as a hysterical response to Republican Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert’s no doubt rude and ill-advised “Jihad squad” remark, the bill dangerously calls for the establishment of, wait for it, an “Office to Monitor and Combat Islamophobia” in the Department of State. Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker has now introduced the companion bill in the Senate.
While some critics believe this legislation is pure theatrics and won’t even be brought up for a vote, others surmise that senators will make changes before sending it back to the House, making it very possible that anti-blasphemy will now be codified into American law. This is not hyperbole.
No, climate change is not a ‘women’s issue’
There seems to be a belief circulating in environmentalist circles that women make the best leaders on climate change. Apparently, we’re just better suited to it. we’re more empathetic, more concerned about sustainability and we even emit less greenhouse gas.

As Walter Russell Mead wrote in the Wall Street Journal “The intellectual and political disarray on display in Glasgow was terrifying” as leaders committed their countries to “carefully crafted, unenforceable pledges.” Proof yet again that global gatherings of “preaching to the choir” climate activists are not the place for balanced discussion or practical solutions.

Ontario may soon have to “put some limitations” on PCR testing in order to ensure there are sufficient resources on hand to respond to outbreaks and protect long-term care facilities, the province’s top public health official says.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore made the comment during a briefing on Tuesday afternoon, as Ontarians continued to report days-long waits to access a PCR test.
… Ontario’s positivity rate has risen from approximately three per cent at the beginning of the month to a recent high of 9.9 per cent over the last 24 hours, something that Moore said is a “clear signal” that we are “under testing” and that COVID-19 is spreading more widely in the community than we might realized.
But it is unlikely that Ontario will be able to significantly increase its testing capacity, given staffing constraints in its labs.
Otherwise they were quite happy with the ChiCom slave state…

The National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association have reached an agreement to not send its players to participate in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in February, according to reports from The Toronto Star’s Chris Johnston and Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.

Canada will miss COVID-19 cases as testing systems become overwhelmed: experts
Daniel Bear would like to get a COVID-19 test. “I know I have COVID,” the father from Toronto told Global News on Tuesday.
He’s taken five rapid tests since his nose started running nearly a week ago. At first, they were negative, he said. But on Sunday when his symptoms got worse, he took another, and it was positive. He’s had two more positive tests since.

In March 2020, a profile of the typical Covid victim emerged from Italy. The average decedent was eighty years old, with approximately three comorbidities such as heart disease, obesity or diabetes. The young had little to worry about; the survival rate for the vast majority of the population was well over 99 percent.
That portrait never significantly changed. The early assessments of Covid out of Italy have remained valid through today. And so it will prove with the Omicron variant.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jurors weighing the case of the suburban Minneapolis police officer who shot and killed Black motorist Daunte Wright asked the judge after a full day of deliberations Tuesday what they should do if they can’t reach a verdict.
Judge Regina Chu told them to continue working, as was explained in the initial instructions she gave them. The jury also deliberated for about five hours on Monday.
Former Brooklyn Center officer Kim Potter, who is white, is charged with first- and second-degree manslaughter. If convicted of the most serious charge, Potter, 49, would face a sentence of about seven years under state guidelines, though prosecutors have said they will seek more.
