Nurse ‘attacked by Afghan migrant in crowbar rampage’ reveals she was ‘beaten nearly to death’

A nurse who claims she survived being attacked by a man armed with a crowbar in a hospital waiting room declared today: ‘I’m so, so, so lucky I’m still alive and I’m so lucky I ran when I did.’

Meg Lynch, 28, said she was ‘nearly beaten to death’ while stood getting a drink from a vending machine.

The district nurse, who suffered ‘a few blows to the head’ before running and hiding from her alleged attacker, told how she was left bloodied and bruised.

The Left’s Ugly Response to a Beautiful Woman’s Death

The left hijacks Brigitte Bardot’s funeral to settle political scores.

Funerals, like awards shows and sporting events, become excuses for the left to force their opinions on a captive audience.

This tasteless trend finds expression with the death of Brigitte Bardot, sex symbol extraordinaire, at 91.

Here’s a link to the Vogue Hit Piece – Brigitte Bardot, French Screen Legend and Style Icon, Dies at 91

WIECHNIK: Bio-Leninism and Canadian protest politics

With most Canadians enjoying the holiday season and the imminent year’s end representing a time for reflection, I happened to notice an all-too-familiar spectacle unfold this past Boxing Day.

Yet again, pro-Palestinian protesters caused a ruckus, marching through Toronto’s famous Eaton Centre, chanting slogans, leaving shoppers bemused (or just plain annoyed), and demanding action against Israel.

Colby Cosh: I survived a trip to the ER. Not everyone is so lucky

When something ridiculous or scandalous happens in Edmonton, where I live, I make a point of calling attention to it, perhaps out of a misguided sense of professional honour. The city has now come to nationwide and even international attention for a reason that hits particularly close. A few days before Christmas, a 44-year-old man in good general health, Prashant Sreekumar, turned up at the Grey Nuns hospital with terrible chest pains that had begun at work.

Today In Trump Did Me Wrong But I Have No Proof

‘It’s not a coincidence’: journalists of color on being laid off amid Trump’s anti-DEI push

Trey Sherman was traveling to work on the New York subway when he received an email from David Reiter, a CBS News executive, about an imminent meeting on 29 October. Sherman, an associate producer of CBS Evening News Plus at the time, suspected that he would be laid off. CBS News’s parent company, Paramount, had closed a merger with the Hollywood studio Skydance in August, and planned to slash more than 2,000 jobs as part of corporate restructuring.

Sherman, who is Black, and Reiter, who is white, had an amicable conversation, according to Sherman. Reiter told Sherman that he was being laid off because his show was being eliminated, Sherman said, and that Reiter was unable to assign the team to other positions. Sherman accepted the news and the two men wished each other good luck.

John Ivison: Mark Carney’s conceivable tragic fall will come from hubris

It has been curious to watch Prime Minister Mark Carney’s parade of year-end interviews while reading Paul Litt’s excellent 2011 biography of former prime minister John Turner: Elusive Destiny.

Many of Turner’s qualities, as noted by journalist Ron Graham in a Saturday Night magazine profile ahead of the 1984 Liberal leadership election, could equally be said of Carney.

Jewish leaders urge Carney to fill antisemitism envoy role, saying Bondi Beach shootings a ‘wake-up call’

Jewish community leaders and a former Liberal justice minister are calling on Prime Minister Mark Carney to appoint a new antisemitism envoy and provide extra funding for community safety amid rising anxiety after the Bondi Beach Hanukkah shootings.

They say filling the vacant envoy post is a matter of urgency after a spike in antisemitic incidents, including multiple thefts of mezuzahs from the doorways of Toronto Jewish homes this month. A mezuzah contains a parchment inscribed with scripture.

Deborah Lyons resigned in July as Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism, telling the Canadian Jewish News she was exhausted after spending nearly two years “waking up every day to a fight.”

I have long wondered what exactly Deb was fighting.

It was absurd that she demanded we protect Jews from the Muslims her employer imported and coddled.

Barb was so tone deaf she called us out for not rallying to her battle cry.

Apparently she missed how for the past decade her employer viciously slandered dissenters as Islamophobes and racists for warning of Islam’s threat to Canada

A threat aided and abetted by the very best our political class, media and universities had to offer.

Deb failed to see Antisemitism is an elite value not a Canadian value.

Maybe Barb will find time in retirement to watch CBC for some needed indoctrination.

France is becoming used to gratuitous violence

France seems to be witnessing more gratuitous attacks and stabbings. On Boxing Day afternoon, in the middle of central Paris, a man went on a knife rampage through the metro. He struck out at random, stabbing women on station platforms at République, Arts et Métiers and Opéra. There was screaming. There was blood. One of the victims was pregnant. There was no argument, no robbery, and no apparent motive. The attacks were entirely indiscriminate.

After each assault, the attacker didn’t run, he boarded the next train. Passengers recoiled. Doors closed. The train moved on. Station by station, through some of the busiest metro stations in the city, he continued.

Minn. Somali-run day care bizarrely reports all their important documents about child care were stolen in mysterious break-in

Stupid white liberal woman in public declaration of stupidity

A Somali-run day care in Minneapolis is claiming somebody broke in and stole “important documents” as the national spotlight shines on the unfolding multibillion-dollar fraud scandal involving Minnesota human services.

Nasrulah Mohamed, manager of Nakomis Day Care Center, told reporters that a suspect entered through the kitchen at the rear of the facility, damaging a wall and breaking into the building’s office, sometime on Tuesday.

He said the alleged prowler stole “important documentation” including children’s enrollment information, employee documentation and checkbooks.

Why Israel and Trump Should Be Cautious About Pakistani Troops in Gaza

Israeli officials report that three countries have agreed to Washington’s request to participate in a postwar Gaza “International Stabilization Force” (ISF). The identities of all three have not been disclosed, though Indonesia may be one of them. Earlier reports also identified Pakistan as a possible contributor to the ISF.

In addition, Pakistan does not officially recognize Israel, and has never designated Hamas as a terrorist organization. It may well have an interest in making sure that Hamas can continue its “resistance” — meaning terrorism.

Where have the TTC’s riders gone?

Transit ridership never recovered from the pandemic. We asked why — and what could bring them back

Toronto in February 2020 hustled and bustled in blissful ignorance.

The roads were clogged with cars, and the trains were full of people. The TTC logged 10 million weekly trips, a healthy bump from the year prior.

Then, in the span of two weeks, that motion shuddered to a halt.

In the five years since the COVID-19 pandemic stalled Toronto, much has recovered. Car congestion, to drivers’ chagrin, is back.

The TTC is an open sewer.

Screw-Ups, Shutdowns, and Soros: Here’s Our Ten Most-Read Stories of 2025

2025 marked a year of arguably unparalleled success for the NewsBusters team seeing as how, along with chronicling the best and worst in daily and long-term liberal media bias, we helped see to a successful conclusion a decades-long fight to defund National Public Radio (NPR) and PBS.

In addition to President Trump’s successful media lawsuits and changes inside CBS News, the NewsBusters team was proud to take credit for the suspension of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel plus the May 2026 cancellation of CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
