Germany: Nazi tank collector on trial for basement cache

Acting on a tip about stolen Nazi art, German investigators raided a home near the northern German city of Kiel in 2015. Instead, they discovered an underground garage containing a World War II-era Panther tank, a torpedo, mortars, anti-aircraft guns, more than 1,500 rounds of ammunition and other weapons.

I posted on this previously but have come across some interesting history about the tank’s origins. Seems it was one of several cobbled together by the British in German factories at wars end and transported to the UK for evaluation. See the video below. I follow historian Mark Felton on YouTube, he posts a lot of interesting stuff.

“Their Goal Is Really to Eradicate Christianity”: Persecution of Christians, June 2021

[N]early a million people have been displaced since 2017 and thousands slaughtered…. “They say their goal is to set up a caliphate similar to ISIS in Iraq and Syria…. They ask, ‘Are you a Christian? Or are you a Muslim?’ If you’re a Christian, you’re killed. If you’re a Muslim, then you get the opportunity to quote some Quranic verses. And if you can quote them sufficiently, you save your life. Otherwise, you also get killed [sometimes by crucifixion].” — Todd Nettleton, The Voice of the Martyrs USA, Mission Network News, June 28, 2021, Mozambique.

Wargaming in progress: The early panic by Team Biden about “the Kamala crisis” is … something

It didn’t take long for Kamala Harris to show America just how unprepared for her job she is and America is responding. It’s only been six months, though for most of us it feels much longer than that, and already the strategy sessions are beginning in hopes of saving Kamala. She’s supposed to succeed the Big Guy in 2024 and she’s off to a really bad start.

Ottawa idiot convert terrorist released from halfway house, starts new life

Drawing makes him look more intelligent.

Carlos Larmond, the Ottawa terror twin jailed in 2015 for trying to leave the country to fight for ISIS, has been released from a Calgary halfway house and is starting over as a newly-married man with his sights on entrepreneurship.

The former Vanier crack dealer’s rapid descent into radicalization was at the urging of his dominant twin brother. He was arrested while boarding a plane for Frankfurt with the hopes of making it to Syria to fight for ISIS. His brother started recruiting the would-be jihadi and others after his own plans to join ISIS were scuttled when his passport was revoked.

Fed’s proposed gun-control rules endanger public safety, group says

A prominent gun-control group is accusing the federal Liberals of endangering public safety by backpedalling on a pledge to ensure firearm buyers have a valid licence.

In a written submission to the government, PolySeSouvient says proposed regulations to flesh out federal legislation do not go far enough to keep guns out of the wrong hands.

The group, which pushes for more stringent firearm controls, includes students and graduates of Montreal’s Ecole polytechnique, where a gunman killed 14 women in 1989.

I’m sure Justin will make a boatload of new promises.

1,500 Rabbis Slam the ADL as Unable Even to Identify, Much Less Fight, Anti-Semitism

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has strayed a long distance from its stated mission “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” For years now, it has been essentially the Leftist Anti-Defamation League, espousing far-Left cause after far-Left cause, no matter how opposed these causes were to their supposed core mission of stopping anti-Semitism. Now the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), a coalition of over 1,500 Orthodox Jewish rabbis, is calling out the ADL for having lost “the moral clarity to properly identify antisemitism, let alone combat it.”

The ADL is an extremist propaganda outlet for the Democrats.

Afghanistan war: Taliban capture city of Kunduz

The Taliban have captured the key northern Afghan city of Kunduz, one of the country’s largest, after fierce fighting with government forces.

A local official told the BBC all but the city’s airport had fallen to the militants. The group’s flag was seen raised in the city centre.

Chaotic scenes have been reported with buildings and shops ablaze.

Four regional capitals have now fallen to the Taliban since Friday. Kunduz is their most important gain this year.

UK tells its nationals to leave Afghanistan immediately

The British government has told all UK nationals to leave Afghanistan immediately as fighting intensifies between Taliban militants and Afghan security forces.

The announcement came just hours after the Taliban ambushed and killed the director of Afghanistan’s government media center in Kabul on Friday.

Britain’s Foreign Office warned that “terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks” amid a drawdown of international troops stationed there.

Seems only a matter of time before the Taliban rules. So much for “Nation Building”.  Good luck to the Chinese and the Russians!

Meet Jagmeet Singh, A Rising Star In Canadian Politics

Jagmeet Singh is a Sikh Canadian politician who has been steadily gaining in popularity; he is also, alas, distinctly unsympathetic to Israel. A report on Singh, with his pro-Palestinian views, and his dislike of the Jewish state, is here: “Rising star or dark force? Jagmeet Singh plans to leave his mark on Canada-Israel relations,” by Ami Friedman, Israel Hayom, July 30, 2021…

It used to be that Canada’s mainstream political parties, at least at the top level, expressed support for Israel even if as among the NDP and LPC that support was only an inch deep and in no way representative of the views held by many of the rank and file.

Now “anti-zionist” gaslighting is mainstream and that Green Party kerfuffle a sign of things to come on larger political stages.
