A former BBC journalist who was sacked earlier this year after historic anti-Semitic content was found in her Twitter feed, has been condemned on social media for blaming the “pro-Israel mob” for her firing.

On Wednesday, Tala Halawa, a Palestinian journalist who was unceremoniously let go from the BBC in June, blasted the British broadcaster for her sacking and accused it of giving into the “pro-Israel mob.”

In less than two months we will honor the 20-year anniversary of the September 11 attacks on our country. Twenty years since terrorists killed roughly 3,000 Americans and injured another 6,000. Twenty years since the FBI was too busy to look into information about a handful of Muslims who wanted to learn how to fly planes but not land them. If only Mohamed Atta had been caught with a plane made of Legos.

Church Burnings Could Be Deemed Acts of Terrorism, Says Former CSIS Specialist

A former security intelligence specialist says the recent spate of fires that demolished or partially damaged churches across the country are likely deliberate, which could constitute acts of terrorism under Canadian criminal law.

“As somebody who worked in counterterrorism in Canada for the better part of 15 years—I’ve written six books on the topic—a very strong case could be made that these are actually acts of terrorism,” Phil Gurski, president of Borealis Threat and Risk Consulting, told The Epoch Times.

Black Lives Matter faced fierce criticism late Wednesday after posting a statement that blasted the U.S. and praised Cuba’s government while the island was destabilized by historic protests and violent crackdowns.

The statement – originally posted on Instagram and later tweeted and retweeted – blamed the U.S. embargo for the country’s instability and credited the Cuban government for historically granting “Black revolutionaries” asylum.

The gap between the Biden administration and the Trudeau government this week on Cuba was wider than the straits that separate Havana from Key West.

U.S. President Joe Biden said the United States “stands firmly with the people of Cuba as they assert their universal rights. And we call on the government of Cuba to refrain from violence in their attempt to silence the voices of the people of Cuba.”

The protests — which saw thousands of Cubans march through cities across the island — are a “clarion call for freedom,” said Biden.

Why Cops Are Quitting

Police officers no longer feel that they have the public’s support.

In the past year, city police departments across the country have reported a dramatic drop in manpower, as cops retire, resign, or leave for the suburbs. The NYPD’s headcount fell to its lowest level in ten years. In Chicago, police retirements rose 15 percent. The San Francisco Police Department is short 400 officers; over 115 officers, including an entire unit dedicated to crowd control, have left the Portland PD; and nearly 200 have left the Minneapolis PD or are on leave, rendering the department unable to engage in proactive policing. A recent survey of police departments found that hiring fell an average of 5 percent in 2020, while resignations rose 18 percent and retirements a whopping 45 percent.
