‘The message seems to be a woman who reports rape is a contemptible white feminist’: Outrage at Oxfam staff training document blaming ‘privileged white women’ over root causes of sexual violence

‘The message seems to be a woman who reports rape is a contemptible white feminist’: Outrage at Oxfam staff training document blaming ‘privileged white women’ over root causes of sexual violence

A lawyer today accused Oxfam of suggesting reporting rape is ‘contemptible’ after a training document said ‘privileged white women’ were supporting the ‘root causes of sexual violence’ for wanting offenders jailed because it disproportionately affects minorities.

The charity, which has been hit by a slew of sex scandals including claims that employees used teenage prostitutes in Haiti, compiled the PowerPoint presentation through its LGBT network after the group complained to bosses that the debate about women’s rights was part of a ‘patriarchal and white supremacist narrative’.

Accompanied by a cartoon of a crying white woman, the PowerPoint claims that mainstream feminism supports ‘the root causes of sexual violence’ by painting white women as ‘victims’ and that this in turn justifies excessive punishment for ‘black and other marginalised people’.

Islamophobic Italian police hunt Pakistani family who ‘strangled 18-year-old girl to death for refusing forced marriage to her cousin’

Police in Italy are hunting the relatives of a Pakistani girl who they think was strangled to death and buried in a shallow grave in a so-called honour killing.

Saman Abbas, 18, has been missing since May 1 when she was last seen on CCTV at a farm near the city of Reggio Emilia, central Italy, where father Shabbar, 46, worked.

Police says Shabbar conspired with Saman’s mother Nazia Shaheen, 47, uncle Hasnain Danish, 33, and cousins Nomanulhaq Nomanulahq and Ijaz Ikram, 33 and 28, to kill her and bury her body behind the farm before fleeing the country.

The Effect of Communist China on America’s Clean Energy Plan

The Effect of Communist China on America’s Clean Energy Plan

“The Middle East has oil, China has rare earths”, Deng Xiaoping said in 1992. Nearly three decades later, the world is almost completely dependent on China for rare earth materials. They constitute key elements in large swaths of modern technology from consumer electronics to military equipment and green technology: Mobile phones, computers, fighter jets, guided missiles, solar panels, wind turbines and electric vehicles, among others. While demand is soaring, China is virtually their worldwide exclusive producer. “To extend Mr Deng’s comparison, it is as if the Middle East not only sat on most of the world’s oil but also, almost exclusively, refined it and then made products out of it,” wrote The Economist in 2019.

U.S. lawmakers planning economic battle with China have some questions — about Canada

U.S. lawmakers planning economic battle with China have some questions — about Canada

…. The bigger story of the bill is an economic one: That the era of free markets is falling out of fashion, replaced by government-mandated industrial policy.

The trend appears bipartisan.

The shift in attitude began under Donald Trump, whose trade representative, Robert Lighthizer, wrote in an essay that ideal trade policy had to be about more than cheap goods and should prioritize domestic manufacturing and working-class jobs.

A new strategy paper released this week by the White House underscores the extent to which the Biden administration shares this view.

The China class will ensure it’s all bullshit.

Supreme Court lifts sealing orders on Barry and Honey Sherman estate files in unanimous decision, paves way for access

The Supreme Court on Friday lifted sealing orders on the estate files of slain billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman in a unanimous decision, paving the way for the Toronto Star to access the files and capping off a three-year legal battle.

The couple was found killed in their Toronto home in 2017 — a high-profile case in which police have never named suspects or publicly revealed a possible motive.

The court files involve the last will and testament of Barry Sherman, the billionaire founder of generic drug giant Apotex, and the estate of his wife, Honey. (It is not known if she had a will.)

The lone full-time detective on the case told a Toronto courtroom in May that police have been pursuing a single “theory of the case” since four months after the murders.

Winnipeg-to-Wuhan Mystery Deepens

Dr. Xiangguo Qiu, the former program director at Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) who transferred deadly pathogens to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), and her husband, Keding Cheng, are missing from Winnipeg and may no longer even be in Canada, according to John Woods of the Canadian Press.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) “wouldn’t say if they  know where the pair is,” and the case remains shrouded in secrecy. On the other hand, some fascinating facts have already emerged.

“There are no words adequate to properly express my deep sorrow for the victims of this senseless act.”

Ontario reports 574 new Covid cases … and really it’s still lockdown

Most of Ontario enters first stage of reopening, loosening COVID-19 restrictions

Outdoor dining and shopping at non-essential retail stores can resume in most of Ontario today as the province enters the first stage of its economic reopening plan.

New COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations have dropped in recent weeks, allowing the province to loosen some pandemic restrictions.

Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people and patio dining of up to four people per table are among the activities now permitted.

The real targets of lefty street thugs like BLM and Antifa

There are a lot of seeming contradictions in the street violence widely employed by the left. Rioters destroy their own neighborhoods. Look at Detroit, where the riots that started in 1967 have now devastated what was once one of the richest cities in the United States. Rioters in Portland attack the federal courthouse, the bailiwick of the Department of Justice, which has become a virtual tool of the left — keeping dozens of January 6 demonstrators in solitary confinements as hordes of left-wing rioters are not prosecuted or even cut free after being arrested.

This raises the question: why are they turning against their own?

Raise a glass to Maya Forstater – She fought for all of our rights – and she won.

Maya Forstater has won. An appeal court judge has today ruled that the tax consultant at a global think-tank, sacked for expressing the view that males and females are biologically distinct and have different life experiences, was wrongfully dismissed. Judge Choudhury said that Forstater’s ‘gender-critical beliefs’ ‘were widely shared’ and ‘did not seek to destroy the rights of trans persons’. The judgement notes, ‘It is clear from Convention case law that… a person is free in a democratic society to hold any belief they wish, subject only to “some modest, objective minimum requirements”’.

Greta Thunberg doesn’t like you

Greta Thunberg Climate Hysteria Puppet

Dorian Lynskey recently wrote a piece celebrating Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday entitled ‘Bob Dylan doesn’t like you‘. The article highlighted the disdain Dylan has for fans, critics, journalists, and even the Nobel Prize Committee. Feted as the voice of a generation, and often acting like it, he still has nothing but scorn for those who acclaim him as such.

Another ‘voice of a generation’, some three generations removed, Greta Thunberg has been acclaimed by many politicians for her climate activism. But there is little sign that Thunberg has anything but scorn for them in return. It would be fair to say to most world leaders: ‘Greta Thunberg doesn’t like you’.

Canada to Fight ‘Far-Right’ Groups After ‘Terrorist Attack’ That Killed Four Muslims

Politicizing a tragedy.

… What is troubling about the reaction to this case is the speedy politicization of it, revealing just how low politicians are willing to stoop to exploit a profound tragedy for their own agendas. Indeed, Prime Minster Justin Trudeau quickly vowed to hunt down what he deemed to be “far right” groups — a “project” that he started a long time ago. What is highly disturbing is that Trudeau has absolutely zero evidence regarding the political leanings of 20-year-old Nathaniel Veltman — who has been charged with four counts of murder and one of attempted murder.

We don’t need Ilhan Omar to ‘clarify’ her typically antisemitic, anti-American comments

House Democrats have asked Rep. Ilhan Omar to “clarify” her recent comments comparing Israel and the United States to Hamas and the Taliban. What a laugh — they must have missed the last few years of Omar’s antics, through which she has made her views abundantly clear.

Omar started this debacle by saying that “we must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”
