China is Trying to Break up the Five Eyes Intelligence Network

China is making a deliberate attempt to create divisions within the elite “Five Eyes” intelligence-sharing alliance by forging closer relations with the left-wing government of New Zealand premier Jacinda Ardern.

The Five Eyes alliance, comprising the US, Canada, Britain, Australia and New Zealand, dates back to the Second World War, when a number of key allies decided to share intelligence in their bid to defeat Nazi Germany and Japan.

Today, maintaining intelligence-sharing cooperation between the five Anglophone nations is deemed essential to combating the threat posed by autocratic states, such as Russia and Communist China.

‘I’m an intersectional cisgender Millennial woman of color’: CIA goes full woke in widely mocked promo video

A recruitment ad for the Central Intelligence Agency featuring a smorgasbord of woke buzzwords has been ruthlessly mocked on social media, with many accusing the spy agency of using ‘diversity’ to airbrush its shady dealings.

The CIA apparently wants Americans to know that despite its history of toppling democratically elected governments and operating torture ‘black sites’, it is still very much an equal opportunity employer.

Conservatives call on Trudeau to fire top adviser over military sexual misconduct scandal

Full of shit.

The federal Conservatives laid down a political marker today by calling on the prime minister to fire his top adviser over how his government handled the sexual misconduct crisis in the military.

Opposition leader Erin O’Toole said today his party has put a motion before the House of Commons — to be debated tomorrow — that calls for the dismissal of Katie Telford, the prime minister’s chief of staff.

It’s the latest twist in a crisis that erupted three months ago, when allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving the country’s former top military commander — now-retired general Jonathan Vance — were published in the media.

Opponents of ‘critical race theory’ win Texas school board election

Opponents of ‘critical race theory’ win Texas school board election

A Texas school board has scored an overwhelming election victory to stop “critical race theory” and a new “cultural competence action plan” from being forced into classes.

The elections in Southlake on Saturday were so divisive that backers of the new anti-racism measures called on the Department of Justice to intervene — and even pop star Demi Lovato ripped opponents of the plan.

Biden DOJ Nominee Conceals Ties To Anti-Semitic Professor Who Blamed Jews For 911

Archived copies of a scholarly journal show Justice Department nominee Kristen Clarke listed on the masthead alongside an anti-Semitic writer with whom she claimed under oath she has never collaborated.

The revelation could prompt charges that she gave inaccurate answers to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Clarke told lawmakers that she has never worked with Amiri Baraka, the Marxist and anti-Semitic black nationalist who accused Israel of having advanced knowledge of 9/11 in a 2002 poem. Both Clarke and Baraka are listed as editors of the journal Souls at least eight times over two years.

‘Too slow, too late’: Ford gov. received months of warnings about long-term care before second wave

When Dr. Kate Greenaway entered Tendercare nursing home amid a COVID-19 outbreak in December she was stunned.

“We’ve been in a pandemic for quite a number of months, at that point, it was pretty shocking to me that it was possible to seem so unprepared for an outbreak,” she said.

A family physician, she had answered an urgent call on social media that the home was in dire need of help. When she arrived at the home she raced from one resident to the next in a desperate attempt to provide assistance.

Looming showdown as Michigan governor orders Line 5 pipeline to Ontario shut down

TORONTO – For Michigan’s governor, the 645-mile pipeline jeopardizes the Great Lakes. For Canada’s natural resources minister, its continued operation is “nonnegotiable.”

The clash over Calgary-based Enbridge’s Line 5, which carries up to 540,000 barrels of crude oil and natural gas liquids across Michigan and under the Great Lakes each day, is placing stress on U.S.-Canada ties – and raising questions about how the close allies, which have expressed a desire to work together to fight climate change, can balance energy security with the transition to a clean-energy economy.

Canada is holding back its 1-shot J&J COVID-19 vaccine. Here’s what you need to know

On Friday, Health Canada announced it is holding back the J&J vaccine, a one-shot dose that experts and health officials touted as crucial in stemming the spread of the virus amid a devastating third wave of the pandemic, after it was revealed that parts of the batch were made in the same Baltimore plant where millions of other doses meant for the U.S. market had spoiled.

It’s a mad world when two questionable athletes are the ones making sense

In the 1970s, O.J. Simpson and Bruce Jenner were at the pinnacle of American sports. Simpson was an extraordinary running back and Jenner was the Olympic decathlon winner. Since then, O.J. Simpson probably murdered Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, while Bruce Jenner turned out to believe he’s a woman named Caitlyn. Neither of them is a person to whom one should look for rational thinking. Nevertheless, 2021 is such an utterly insane year, completely eclipsing the insanity of 2020, that both men have come out with common-sense statements in the past two weeks.

Don’t place science on a pedestal

It is a human activity that is subject to human frailties

When I read Tom Chivers’ post about Young Earth creationism I groaned inwardly. Not because I objected to what he’d written — it’s very good — but because it contained the news that the likely next leader of the DUP is a creationist.

Great, I thought, that’s all we need. If this man is elected then the self-appointed science vigilantes are going to go ape.
