A Recipe for More Tragedy – The media’s rush to judgment on the Adam Toledo shooting will come with a high cost.

Last night, as I scrolled through my newsfeed on Facebook, I saw multiple posts referring to the shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo by Chicago police officer Eric Stillman, video (warning: graphic) of which had just been released by the city’s Civilian Office of Police Accountability.

All the posts linked to news stories with headlines emphasizing one detail: at the moment Toledo was struck by the officer’s gunfire, his hands were raised and appeared to be empty.

Friday’s Washington Post splashed a big headline on the front of the Style section with a picture of number-one Fox News host Tucker Carlson and the words “The bully pundit: Fox News host Tucker Carlson often launches attacks on journalists. And once he’s off the air, the zealots who follow him start lobbing hate tweets and death threats.”

A parent’s letter explains why he pulled his child from school in light of the damaging imposition of Critical Race Theory

A parent’s letter explains why he pulled his child from school in light of the damaging imposition of Critical Race Theory

Dear Fellow Brearley Parents,

Our family recently made the decision not to reenroll our daughter at Brearley for the 2021-22 school year. She has been at Brearley for seven years, beginning in kindergarten. In short, we no longer believe that Brearley’s administration and Board of Trustees have any of our children’s best interests at heart. Moreover, we no longer have confidence that our daughter will receive the quality of education necessary to further her development into a critically thinking, responsible, enlightened, and civic minded adult. I write to you, as a fellow parent, to share our reasons for leaving the Brearley community but also to urge you to act before the damage to the school, to its community, and to your own child’s education is irreparable.

The Apogee of Social Media

The Apogee of Social Media

When a business turns on roughly half of its customers, treats them like criminal suspects or seeks to deprive them of their services, can they prosper? The answer is “No.”

Social media is dying, they just don’t know it yet. All the so-called “giants” of Silicon Valley: Twitter, Facebook, and their ilk cannot continue successfully “as is.” In the lead-up to the 2020 election, and certainly in the aftermath of the January 6th Capitol riot, persons and organizations not subscribing to the new orthodox socialist ideology of the American Left have found themselves “de-platformed,” suspended, erased, minimized and banned.

CNN Ratings Down 54 PERCENT Since Inauguration Day

CNN has been hemorrhaging viewers since President Biden took office, with ratings down more than 50 percent in multiple categories since Inauguration Day.

The liberal network spent years attacking former President Donald Trump and the network thrived during his final days in office amid a brief post-election spike. CNN averaged 2.2 million viewers during the first three weeks of 2021, but it has averaged just one million viewers since Biden took office, a staggering decline of 54 percent.

Iran Identifies Suspect Behind Blast at Natanz Nuclear Site

Iran on Saturday named a man it wants arrested in connection with a recent explosion and power outage at its main Natanz nuclear plant, as talks got underway in Vienna on Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

“Reza Karimi, the perpetrator of this sabotage… has been identified” by Iran’s intelligence ministry, state TV said. It said the suspect had fled Iran before last Sunday’s blast that the Islamic Republic has blamed on arch-foe Israel.

$17-million class-action lawsuit filed against Calgary restaurant over COVID-19 outbreak

Joey Eau Claire staff didn’t follow proper Alberta Health Services protocols leading to a COVID-19 outbreak at the restaurant, a $17-million class-action lawsuit claims.

The court action, filed by Calgary firm Guardian Law Group against Joey Tomato’s (Canada) Inc., alleges patrons became sick because employees failed to adequately ensure safety steps were followed to protect customers.

I expect we’ll see more of this.

Pakistan’s Imran Khan equates insulting cult idol Muhammad with Holocaust denial

Western governments should penalize Holocaust denial and insulting the Prophet Muhammad in the same manner, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said Saturday.

Denying the Holocaust is an illegal offense in several European countries — including Germany and France — and offenders can be sent to prison.

Khan wants to see governments take an equally harsh position on those who blaspheme against the Prophet Muhammad.

“I … call on Western governments who have outlawed any negative comment on the holocaust to use the same standards to penalise those deliberately spreading their message of hate against Muslims by abusing our Prophet,” Khan tweeted.

‘I’m Kind Of Disgusted’: Victor Davis Hanson Rips U.S. Ambassador To UN For Lauding Al Sharpton

Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson called out America’s new ambassador to the United Nations for criticizing the U.S. and lauding activist Rev. Al Sharpton before the UN Human Rights Council.

“I’m kind of disgusted: Al Sharpton is on record as an anti-Semite, anti-white, anti-Mormon anti almost any particular group except his own,” Hanson told Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” “She should know that.”

American Fascism

The national lynch mob has claimed another victim. Kim Potter a 26-year veteran of the Brooklyn Center police force with a stellar record of protecting the city’s residents has been arrested, assigned a $100,000 bail bond and charged with second-degree manslaughter. All in the absence of an investigation of the facts—in other words, without a scintilla of due process. But that is the essence of a lynching. First the verdict, then the trial. Or else. No justice, no peace.

NYC EMS union chief says crews are under attack by anarchist thugs

FDNY EMTs and paramedics are under attack and in dire need of first aid, but no one is hearing their call, their union boss said.

Willy Waggin MP Wags Finger!

MP William Amos speaks out: Leaked naked photo sends message ‘anything goes’ in politics

A Liberal MP who inadvertently flashed his parliamentary colleagues says the fact that a screenshot of him in the nude was leaked to the media sends a troubling message about the corrosive state of politics in Canada.

“It sends a terrible signal,” William Amos said in an interview.

“It says if there’s partisan gain to be achieved, then anything goes and that’s not acceptable,” he said, adding that it also sends a terrible message to young people.

“What does that tell our children and what does it tell society about the nature of proper behaviour in a digital society?”

I think it tells us don’t be an idiot and walk around naked in Zoom meetings Mr. Willy.

20 years in Afghanistan: Was it worth it?

After 20 years in the country, US and British forces are leaving Afghanistan. This month President Biden announced that the remaining 2,500-3,500 US servicemen and women would be gone by September 11th. The UK is doing the same, withdrawing its remaining 750 troops.

The date is significant. It is exactly 20 years since Al-Qaida’s 9/11 attacks on America, planned and directed from Afghanistan, that brought in the US-led Coalition that removed the Taliban from power and temporarily drove out Al-Qaeda.

The cost of this 20-year military and security engagement has been astronomically high – in lives, in livelihoods and in money. Over 2,300 US servicemen and women have been killed and more than 20,000 injured, along with more than 450 Britons and hundreds more from other nationalities.
