Our Latest “Karen”

Reeling from the pandemic and a horrifying crime surge, the city shouldn’t waste another minute on trifling incidents.

The day after Christmas, in the lobby of a tony lower Manhattan hotel, a 22-year-old woman misplaced her cell phone. Somewhat intemperately, she accused a 14-year-old boy standing nearby of having stolen it. The boy’s father, noted jazz musician Keyon Harrold, filmed Miya Ponsetto as she had a meltdown—she screamed and yelled and chased his son, tackling him to the ground.

Breaching the Capitol: The Surprise That Was No Surprise

Today marked a change for our nation.

Atoxic brew bubbled in 2020. It burst January 6, 2021. Mark this day. Like 9/11, there will be a before and after quality to what comes now. 9/11 was a generation ago. Breaching the Capitol in Washington, D.C. will be this generation-defining moment for the United States of America. Like in the aftermath of 9/11, many stupid policy decisions will be made. Liberty will be lost.

Teachers who tailor lessons so as not to offend Muslim children are becoming a problem

Teachers who tailor lessons so as not to offend Muslim children are becoming a problem
A new survey in France has found many teachers are self-censoring lessons for fear of upsetting Muslim students. This defeatist attitude represents a refusal to uphold cultural values – and it’s happening in Britain, too.

Unfortunately, the killing of school teacher Samuel Paty in an Islamist attack last year has led many French teachers to avoid discussing issues that might offend their Muslim pupils.

survey on this subject conducted last month makes for chilling reading. It shows that nearly half of French secondary school teachers avoid or downplay topics such as sexuality, the Holocaust and evolution in order to avoid provoking the anger and hostility of their Muslim students.

“This Is Not Who We Are…”

On Wednesday I joined Tucker Carlson to discuss the so-called storming of the Capitol.

There has been much talk these last two months about the disconnect between Fox and its audience over the events of November 3rd, but they are as nothing to the disconnect between Fox and its audience over the events of January 6th. The media may be sentimental about the Capitol, but in my unscientific survey of my North Country neighbors the people aren’t. Congress has an approval rating that falls somewhere between Isis and child pornographers. Pundits and politicians can wax mawkish about “the people’s house” but you’d be hard-pressed to find one in a thousand citizens who’s ever used those words in a non-contemptuous sense – and most of the other 999 would assume that the phrase referred to some long-term care facility Andrew Cuomo moves the old folks into for his Covid express checkout.

Chinese doctor calls the nation’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine ‘the most unsafe in the world with SEVENTY-THREE side effects’

A Chinese doctor has caused controversy after calling the country’s COVID-19 vaccine ‘the most unsafe in the world’.

Dr Tao Lina, a vaccine expert from Shanghai, pointed out to his 4.8million social media followers on Tuesday that the jab developed by Beijing’s state-run drugmaker Sinopharm had 73 side effects.

After his remarks were widely reported outside mainland China, the medical worker today denied having criticised the vaccine and denounced foreign media outlets for ‘twisting’ and ‘exploiting’ his words.

What we saw and heard on the ground during Capitol siege

Washington Examiner reporters and staff were inside and outside the Capitol building on Wednesday when a protest against the congressional acceptance of Electoral College votes making Joe Biden the president-elect rather than President Trump turned into a mob that breached the building and forced lawmakers and staff on Capitol Hill into lockdown for hours.

Here is a portion of what they saw and heard.

Senior bureaucrat overseeing border and travel health accepted Air Canada junket to Jamaica

A senior public servant at the Public Health Agency of Canada accepted an all-expenses-paid holiday to Jamaica courtesy of Air Canada Vacations in November, even as her agency has been advising Canadians since March to avoid non-essential travel to combat the spread of COVID-19.

“Influencer”

Dominique Baker, the acting manager at the agency’s Office of Border and Travel Health, flew with a friend to the upscale, all-inclusive Royalton Blue Waters resort in Montego Bay in mid-November.

Ms. Baker, who bills herself as a social, fashion and travel influencer on her off-work hours, posted a video a few hours after she arrived in Jamaica, calling the hotel suite with its own infinity pool “mind-blowing – whoa.”

No one in government gets fired.

New videos capture fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt during Capitol siege

New videos capture fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt during Capitol siege

These disturbing videos capture the moment US Air Force veteran and President Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot during Wednesday’s riot inside the US Capitol building.

Babbitt, 35, was among several supporters of the president who overpowered police and breached the US Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election in favor of Joe Biden.

Ya think? Capitol Police officer who shot, killed woman during protest placed on administrative leave

The U.S. Capitol Police officer who fired the fatal bullet that killed Ashli Babbit during Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol Building was placed on administrative leave, the department said Thursday.

The officer, who has not been identified, will have their police powers suspended while awaiting the outcome of a joint investigation between the Capitol Police and Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department.

At least the media finally came around to the idea that riots are scary

CNN’s Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, and others were aghast Wednesday as the nation watched thousands of President Trump’s supporters storm the Capitol, breaching the premises, and rioting within the building. Aside from all the violence, though, they were otherwise peaceful!

Finally, the media understand how dangerous mobs can be. Good timing.

To be sure, Wednesday’s events were grotesque. This is how liberals are expected to behave — such as when all of Washington, D.C., was boarded up in anticipation of how the locals would react if Trump won reelection. Republican-leaning precincts didn’t have to do any boarding up because that’s not expected of them.
