Muslim voters and the statement of the bleedin’ obvious

Muslim voters and the statement of the bleedin’ obvious

THE Henry Jackson Society is one of today’s more worthy British institutions, defending as it does liberal democracy and what it terms ‘real’ human rights – presumably as opposed to a 6ft 3in bearded confused-dot-com’s imagined right to hike up his skirt in a ladies’ loo. It’s no surprise then that one of HSJ’s latest studies focuses on ‘Forecasting the Muslim Sectarian Wave’. It’s particularly topical as the nation heads to the polling booths today. Or not, in too many cases.

This is a very interesting piece and I recommend you pry yourself away from today’s UFO disclosure to read it.

Pierre Poilievre says he’s still the right leader to take on Mark Carney

Pierre Poilievre says he’s still the right leader to take on Mark Carney

OTTAWA — Portraying himself as the “fighter” the country needs, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre made the case Thursday that he is still the right person to take on Prime Minister Mark Carney and bring his party back to power — and that he doesn’t need to change to get it done.

Addressing a packed room of ideological faithful at the annual Canada Strong and Free Network conference, Poilievre portrayed Carney as the “illusion” of a moderate politician, and claimed the Liberal government is really part of a self-interested “club” of special interests that is failing to improve the lives of regular Canadians.

The old message remains potent. Be patient, even the MSM can’t hide forever that the LPC is the same old clowns at the same old circus.

Carney’s pseudo-patriotism can’t outlast reality.

May Day Madness with the Chicago Teachers Union

May Day Madness with the Chicago Teachers Union

In American civics classes, children once learned the timeless principles of the Founding and the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Starting in the 1960s, schools shifted away from civics and history, with troubling consequences: today, only 36 percent of Americans can pass the citizenship test required of immigrants.

There’s no such thing as a good teacher’s union is there.

Keir Starmer under pressure to agree exit plan after election mauling

Keir Starmer under pressure to agree exit plan after election mauling

Keir Starmer is under pressure to set out a timeline for his departure after a crushing defeat in elections across Britain prompted senior Labour MPs to call for him to step down within a year.

In a disastrous set of results, Labour had lost control of more than 25 councils and almost 1,000 council seats in England by Friday evening, many to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, which made large gains across the Midlands and the north as well as taking seats from the Tories in the south.

After more than a century of domination, Labour has faced near-wipeout in Wales, where the party’s first minister, Eluned Morgan, lost her seat. Labour could slump to third place in Scotland behind the SNP and Reform. In London, a Green surge meant Labour lost control of councils it had dominated, including Hackney and Waltham Forest.

Labour loses Wales for the first time ever as mutinous MPs blame Starmer for once-in-a-generation elections disaster – with Greens racking up seats and Reform rampant

Sentence hiked for man who cut off woman’s finger and forced her to eat it

Sentence hiked for man who cut off woman’s finger and forced her to eat it

An appeal court in Alberta has nearly doubled the sentence for a man who cut off a woman’s finger and then forced her to eat her own severed digit, saying in a ruling that the original judge downplayed the victim’s suffering and terror.

Stephen Ralph Potts was convicted of aggravated assault after inviting an Indigenous woman to his home in the northern community of Chateh and attacking her in April 2024.

Court heard during trial that Potts, who is also Indigenous, punched the woman repeatedly in the face without warning or provocation, breaking bones. He then ordered her to splay out her fingers, saying he was going to cut off her finger.

Still seems light to me.

3 Muslim “Australian” women returning from Syria are arrested on suspicion of slavery and terrorism offenses

3 Muslim “Australian” women returning from Syria are arrested on suspicion of slavery and terrorism offenses

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Three women who were among 13 Australians returning home from Syria were arrested at airports on Thursday on allegations of slavery and terrorism inside the Islamic State group’s former so-called caliphate, police said.

The four women and nine children, who have spent years in Roj Camp in the Syrian desert, landed on two Qatar Airways flights from Doha Thursday, a day after the Australian government announced their intention to return.

Stephen Nutt, the Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner for Counter Terrorism, said a 53-year-old woman who arrived at Melbourne Airport would be charged by Friday with four crimes against humanity including possessing a slave and engaging in slave trading.

Today’s Deep Question: Which Iran Keeps Shooting At Us?

Today’s Deep Question: Which Iran Keeps Shooting At Us?

And here’s the answer: Does it matter?

As of this morning, the White House continues to insist that the ceasefire with Iran remains in place and that negotiations will continue. At the same time, missile launches and drone attacks keep coming from Iran, including the skirmish yesterday in which the US Navy struck ports in the Strait of Hormuz and sank several fast-attack boats harassing shipping.

Disney Lectured America About Morality While CSAM Suspects Worked on Its Ships

Disney Lectured America About Morality While CSAM Suspects Worked on Its Ships

I’ll disclose my bias straight off: I believe there’s a special place in Hell below even Dante’s imagination for adults who exploit children. Civilized societies should show absolutely zero tolerance for crimes involving child sexual abuse material or the destruction of childhood innocence.

One of my older sisters once told me that “hate” is a strong word; only say it when it’s necessary. Unfortunately, similar to words like “awesome,” “literally,” and “Nazi,” they’ve been overused to the point where those words lose their strength. Because of what she told me, I’ve refrained from saying “hate” until the situation demands it.

Amid official silence, social media shows chiefs at World Series

Social media posts appear to show Toronto’s police and fire chiefs arm in arm in a private box before Game 1 of the 2025 World Series – despite the fact their representatives have yet to confirm which recent high-profile dates the men worked at the Rogers Centre.

Funny but I never saw the Chief working paid duty at a construction site.

Can you be just a little bit corrupt?

US officials gravely concerned cartels will take fight at border to the skies

US officials gravely concerned cartels will take fight at border to the skies

PHOENIX — Officials at the Departments of Homeland Security and War are gravely concerned about the security of the nation’s skies along the land border and have admitted that the airspace is incredibly easy to penetrate from Canada and Mexico.

Recent and continuing major improvements in infrastructure at the U.S.-Mexico border have already begun to push terrorist organizations and cartels into the air to get around ground infrastructure, such as walls, river barriers, and sensors, as they smuggle money and guns into Mexico and drugs into the United States, according to government officials leading efforts to counter unfriendly drones.
