The antisemitism that drives identity politics

For many in the West, Jew-hatred is invisible and grossly misunderstood.

A furor over a British Labour Party politician tells us a great deal about the tsunami of Jew-hatred rolling across Britain, America and the West.

Diane Abbott, who in 1987 became Britain’s first black female member of parliament, caused widespread outrage last weekend when she wrote in TheObserver that Jews, Irish people and travelers don’t face racism but merely suffer the same level of prejudice as people with red hair. The only possible victims of racial prejudice, she suggested, are black people.

UK: Diane Abbot Labour Whip Suspended For Declaring Jews Only Suffered Prejudice On Par With Red Haired People

Diane Abbott has Labour whip suspended over Jewish racism claims

Diane Abbott has had the Labour whip suspended for writing to a newspaper to claim that Jewish people could not suffer from racism.

The former shadow home secretary has been forced to issue an apology and acknowledge that Jews have experienced the “monstrous” effects of racism after claiming that they had only experienced prejudice similar to discrimination against people with red hair.

The mainstreaming of American antisemitism

Not all hatreds are equal Bigotry in the US is steadily declining against most minorities but drastically increasing against Jews.

… Words deemed triggering to persons or groups designated as victims are routinely cancelled by the progressive establishment, but antisemitic stereotypes are tolerated, expected, and even encouraged. Antisemitism is acceptable on the political left, right, and all points in between and has been mainstreamed in academia, the media, and common culture. Despite herculean efforts by liberal Jewish leaders to blame today’s surging antisemitism on white supremacists, however, there is evidence to suggest it is increasing far more rapidly among progressives and the identity communities they champion.

Moreover, white supremacists are not responsible for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (“BDS”) Movement, Israel Apartheid Week, street violence against the Orthodox in New York City, or the targeting of Jews on campus. Progressives are.

Munich says Roger Waters concert cannot be halted

Several of Roger Waters’ scheduled tour dates in Germany in May have been called into question in recent weeks, but Munich authorities said on Wednesday that they could not find cause to halt his planned May 21 concert at the city’s Olympic Hall.

This decision contrasts with the city of Frankfurt’s ongoing efforts to cancel a May 28 event, which Waters says he is resisting legally. Poland also canceled shows by the former Pink Floyd member, who left the band in the 1980s, late last year.

Mark Levin: ‘Why are Democrats tolerating Farrakhan’s antisemitism?’

Fox News host Mark Levin accused Democrats of “tolerating” anti-Semitism, criticizing Democratic leaders for remaining silent over Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan’s recent Saviours’ Day event late last month.

From February 24th through the 26th, the Nation of Islam held its annual conference in Chicago, the first large-scale gathering the group has held since the COVID pandemic.

During the conference, Farrakhan repeatedly castigated Jews, condemning “Jewish power” and attacking the “synagogue of Satan.”

Farrakhan is tolerated because he’s Obama Adjacent and some disapora Jews like to fantasize about the imaginary special bond forged in the civil rights era.

Antisemitism charges upend Ontario byelection race in NDP stronghold

HAMILTON — It was expected to be a smooth cruise to victory in a riding staunchly New Democrat for almost two decades under former party leader Andrea Horwath, who quit last year to become mayor of Steeltown.

But accusations of antisemitism against NDP candidate Sarah Jama — which she denies — are buffeting the campaign in Thursday’s Hamilton Centre byelection, putting the disability activist and the party’s newly minted leader Marit Stiles on the defensive.

Nazis to the left of me; Muslims to the right of me: here I am, stuck in the middle, again

During Roman times Jews made up 10% of the population of the Roman Empire. Today, there should be 200 million Jews. There are only 15 million in a world of 8 billion: There are 2 billion Muslims, 2 billion Christians and Catholics.

Why is that?

Could it be innate, systemic endemic Jew hatred?

Look around- Nazis to the left of me; Muslims to the right of me: here I am, the Jew, stuck in the middle, again.

What we saw happen in Nazi Germany is happening in America. The Vanishing Jew. Not that America hasn’t been down that road, before. Instead of calling for the erasure of Jews because of “race,” it is now about diversity. Does it matter what the reason? The end result is the same

NDP candidate’s anti-Israel activism raises concerns in Hamilton Centre

Is it anti-Semitic to call the existence of Israel into question or to attend rallies with chants like “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free?”

Members of the Jewish community would say yes, Ontario’s NDP is saying no and defending their candidate in Hamilton Centre.

She’s a differently abled Israel hater!

Barbara Kay has a column in the Post detailing a sea change in Jewish attitudes toward self defense in the light of rising antisemitism. In Canada most of the antisemitism is from the left and their Islamist allies. It’s great that “Liberal” Jews are arming themselves, well in the US. In Canada maybe it’s time for the Jewish community to read the riot act to the Kumbaya Kool-Aid Bernies.

With rising antisemitism even liberal Jews are arming themselves

Antisemitism in the United States is on the rise. When neo-Nazis designated Feb. 25 as a “Day of Hate” targeting Jewish institutions, Jews were warned to be vigilant. The Anti-Defamation League responded by calling on Jews and their allies to “join together by creating a Shabbat of Peace.” Forgive my cynical eye-rolling at this virtuous but futile reflex. When sewer rats clamber boldly upwards into the streets, it’s time to look beyond pious platitudes.

Roger Waters: Anti-Israel but pro-Russia

After years of trying to sell his Antisemitism and anti-Israel hate, Roger Waters has turned his attention to convincing the world of his feelings about the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Russia good, Ukraine bad).

Roger Waters, the man who broke up the band Pink Floyd, sang the above song on “Dark Side of the Moon,” one of the greatest albums ever. Note for some of you, who are in their 30s or younger when Dark Side came out, an album was a collection of audio recordings issued on a vinyl disc. packaged in a cardboard sleeve. “Dark Side of the Moon” holds the record for being on the Billboard top album/tape list longer than any other album in Billboard history, 969 weeks (18.5 years).

How Britain has failed to prevent Islamist extremism and to protect Jews

While events in Israel continue to attract disproportionate and distorted global attention, Islamic extremism remains a threat inside Western society. It’s accompanied by the parallel failure of the West even to face up honestly to the true nature of this problem, let alone deal with it adequately.

This week, a review was published in Britain of the government’s anti-extremism program, Prevent. This was set up in the wake of the 2007 Islamist terrorist atrocity in London, when more than 50 people were murdered and hundreds more injured in a series of four bomb attacks.

Majority of students hide Jewish identity, pro-Israel views, Hillel Ontario poll finds

A new poll by Hillel Ontario found that a significant majority of Jewish students had refrained from expressing their pro-Israel believes in public for fear of being criticized and slightly more than half had downplayed their Jewishness in social settings.

Hillel Ontario, which describes itself as the largest regional Hillel in the world with a combined Jewish student population of 14,000 across nine universities, released the findings from the “student pulse check survey” after polling nearly 500 Jewish students between November 2022 and January 2023.
