“Anti-White Racism”

I think by now most of us can spot a double standard when we see one. So let me try two out on you. In what situation is it acceptable to denounce an MP or parliamentary candidate as ‘not very British’ or even someone who ‘doesn’t get our values, our culture, or our history’. When it is said by a Reform candidate about an MP from an ethnic minority? Or when Jeevun Sandher MP says it about Matt Goodwin, the Reform party candidate for Gorton and Denton?

Doubtless you have already guessed the correct answer. The above phrase was used this week by Labour’s Sandher to denounce Goodwin, and as a result it has passed without any serious comment. By contrast, if Goodwin had described Sandher in similar terms I think we can all agree that the news cycle would have stopped (even Jeffrey Epstein would have fallen off the front pages) and Labour MPs would be gearing up to talk about Enoch Powell again.

IN THE heart of Britain’s education system, a troubling narrative is unfolding, one that disproportionately targets white British boys under the guise of combating misogyny.

The updated Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum in England, with similar lessons already being taught in Scotland, pushes lessons on online harms, pornography, incel (involuntarily celibate) culture, and what the Government calls toxic masculinity. Boys are told they are the problem. Girls are framed as potential victims while the same behaviours in girls often go unexamined.

Anti-white invective was mainstream and pervasive not long ago.

Earlier this month, Mayor Zohran Mamdani faced controversy for his appointment of advisor Cea Weaver to run the Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants. Weaver, X users and the media soon discovered, had made several social-media posts asserting that homeownership was “racist” and “a weapon of white supremacy,” and calling for policies to “impoverish the white middle class.”

I dislike the attitudes expressed in these posts. I even think they’re racist. But it’s easy to treat them as aberrant. In fact, at the time they were made—the late 2010s—those attitudes were culturally dominant.

They are still culturally dominant in Canada.
