Justin Trudeau’s grip on power is precarious — and we witnessed that not once, but twice this week

Canada’s Parliament did not fall this week, which means the country was spared a spring election.

Now normally, one wouldn’t dwell too long on what didn’t happen in politics, or even what almost happened. But on two occasions this past week, two opposition parties seemed determined to use votes in the Commons to show Justin Trudeau’s Liberals how precariously they remain in power.

It’s even more remarkable when you consider this was the only week this month that the Commons would be sitting. Of all the things MPs were determined to cram into it, we ended up with not one but two brushes with Liberal defeat.

How the NDP’s motion on Israel could bring a profound shift in Canadian foreign policy

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly made it clear within minutes of the passage of the NDP’s motion on the Gaza war and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that the government didn’t regard it as just another non-binding opposition day motion that could be swiftly forgotten.

“This is clearly the intent of this government, to make sure that we follow what is written in this motion,” she said. “And that is why we’ve worked very hard to make sure that we could get to a text where we could abide by it.”

Mob Rule Versus Survival of the West: Why Americans Should Be Watching the UK

It’s been hard to watch the effects of forced diversity, multiculturalism, and mass immigration on the tiny island of Great Britain—the most densely populated nation in Europe. At least in America we still have so much land area that most people are not yet feeling the effects of large-scale population displacement stemming from all forms of immigration.
In the UK, however, every day feels like an episode of “Survivor” as people who are being crammed in like sardines are increasingly made to fear that they’ll be voted off the island.

Intelligence watchdog completes report on Chinese interference allegations, sends it to PM

One of Canada’s intelligence watchdogs has finished its investigation into allegations of foreign electoral interference and has sent its findings to the prime minister and members of his cabinet.

It will still be a while before the public can read it, however — and it remains to be seen how much of the report will be redacted.

Just over a year ago, when the Liberal government was under constant fire over claims that China meddled in the 2019 and 2021 elections, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asked the country’s two intelligence review bodies — the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) and the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) — to investigate the issue.

Andrew Evans: Canada’s electrical grid cannot handle the coming demands

In 1905, Sir Adam Beck, (who created the precursor to Ontario Hydro), spoke in the Ontario Legislature about the “very great influence upon the commercial development of the Province [that] will be exercised by the furnishing of cheap power.”

In the time since, cheap power has been the backbone of the prosperity Canada achieved. Fed mostly from large hydroelectric dams, this cut-rate, abundant supply of electricity enabled mass electrification and quality of life soared. Today, we continue to reap the benefits and have a reliable, largely non-emitting grid that is the envy of the world.

Canada Can Learn From Sweden When It Comes to ISIS ‘Victims’

On the surface, Canada and Sweden have a lot in common. We are both northern nations used to cold, snowy winters. We are both hockey mad. And we are both normally associated with liberal-ish political systems that are open, democratic, generally immigrant friendly, and often seen as a haven for those fleeing oppression and terrible living conditions abroad.

And we are both nations which have been the target of Islamist terrorist attacks. In April 2017, an ISIS wannabe drove a truck into a crowd in Stockholm, killing five and wounding 14. We of course have had several ISIS-inspired attacks in Ontario and Alberta, and several foiled ones thanks to the efforts of CSIS and the RCMP.

Anti-authority narratives could tear ‘fabric of society,’ intelligence report warns

OTTAWA — Threats against politicians have become “increasingly normalized” due to extremist narratives prompted by personal grievances and fuelled by misinformation or deliberate lies, warns a newly released intelligence report.

The report, prepared by a federal task force that aims to safeguard elections, says the Canadian violent extremist landscape has seen the proliferation of conspiracy theories, a growing lack of trust in the integrity of the state and more political polarization.

Baseless theories, disinformation and misinformation have spread to larger audiences, exposing online users to a vast network of narratives that undermine science, systems of government and traditional figures of authority, the report says.

Barbara Kay: Is TikTok responsible for Gen Z’s hostility toward Israel and Jews?

Last week, with bipartisan support, the United States House of Representatives voted to force the sale of TikTok, the video-sharing platform owned by ByteDance, a company under the influence of the Chinese Communist Party, to non-Chinese owners, or face a ban in the U.S.

The loss of TikTok would have little to no impact on the lives of most mature Americans. But TikTok users are overwhelmingly young, and many are addicted to the platform for a spectrum of reasons — including, for many influencers and small businesses, their own financial benefit.

It is widely acknowledged that TikTok is a powerful force in shaping adolescent users’ self-perceptions and beliefs. The platform’s influence has been plausibly linked to devastating consequences for individuals, but also to the “ mass formation ” of unhealthy cultural trends.

Under the guise of “anti-racism” we have made the hatred of White children normal in our schools.

If applied to any other race or religious group the usual suspects would howl with righteous indignation.

Our school boards, governments, teacher’s unions, the corporate class and even our human rights commissions have deemed the hatred of White people to be publicly acceptable.

To fight back serves only to affirm our racism and so hating White people has been institutionalized in Canada.

That same hate has been weaponized against Zionist Jews who have been declared “White” by the left.

Tik Tok certainly plays a role as all social media does but Gen Z is more likely acting out a Stockholm Syndrome scenario thanks to being subjected to “anti-racist” struggle sessions from elementary school through university.

For Muslim children the hatred of Israel, Jews and western civilization is bred in the bone and they need no help from Tik Tok or the left.

Welcome to Trudeau’s Canada.

Two Canadian men switched at birth nearly 70 years ago finally get apology for life-changing mistake

Two Canadian men who discovered they were switched at birth from a DNA test finally received a formal apology from the government nearly 70 years after the life-changing mistake.

Richard Beauvais and Eddy Ambrose, 68, were born on the same day in the same hospital in Arborg, Manitoba, in 1955, according to the BBC.

However, a major error in the hospital led to Beauvais and Ambrose being taken home by each other’s biological parents.

Cory Morgan: RCMP Report Warning of Growing Civil Unrest Due to Declining Living Standards Must Be Heeded

A redacted version of a report crafted by Canada’s RCMP titled “Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends for Canada” has been released and it warns Canada could soon descend into civil unrest due to several factors, including a bleak economic outlook.

Canada was once known as one of the most easygoing nations on earth. Canadians were quick to apologize and polite to a fault. It was never imagined this population of passive, laid-back people could experience large-scale civil disorder and pushback against authorities. Recent events have exposed a nation frustrated with the actions of its government to the point of bringing citizens to the streets in protest, and the RCMP expects this trend to become more acute.

Douglas Todd: Canadian Muslim organizations flex their political muscles

Analysis: With Muslims now making up five per cent of Canadians, politicians are responding to their leaders’ activism over the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Many Muslim leaders in the West have been flexing their electoral clout since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas’ war.

U.S. President Joe Biden, British Labour Party Leader Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have been warned by thousands of Islamic representatives that their support for Israel, however much they mix it with concern for Palestinians, will cost them access to mosques and their votes.

The LGBTQ Conquest of America

The mind boggles, reels, and whirs at the speed with which the LGBTQ agenda has swept across America.

We saw it flex its muscles in the rapidity with which same-sex marriage became legalized. But Obergefell v. Hodges was only the start. Less than a decade since that historic ruling, society has flipped from where certain sexual behavior was stigmatized to where it is now celebrated and endorsed, even by the government.

Canada’s Ceasefire Motion Is Much Ado About Nothing

Canada was thoroughly embarrassed last fall when a former Nazi was applauded in Parliament.

So why are Liberals now shaking hands with a notorious Holocaust denier?

Or openly praising a Hamas zealot who joked about baking a Jewish baby with baking powder, as NDP MP Heather McPherson did when she introduced the Gaza ceasefire motion?

The ceasefire motion means nothing to Israel.

It is a turning point for Canada’s Jewish community.

The GTA is now 10% Muslim. Time to get out. For all of us.
