Chrystia Freeland backs away from ‘out of touch’ comment about Disney+ that upset those stupid poor people she hates

Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland admitted her own privilege Monday as she acknowledged Canadian families’ struggles with the skyrocketing cost of living, after facing criticism over her family’s cost-cutting decision to cancel its Disney+ subscription.

“I am a very privileged person, for sure. Like other elected federal leaders, I am paid a really significant salary. I really recognize that it is not people like me, people who have my really good fortune, who are struggling the most in Canada,” said Freeland in Milton, Ont.

CBC Propagandists: Lets put a happy face on Trudeau’s mass immigration scam

Canada’s plan for more immigrants aims to boost workforce, but experts say they’ll need support

A plan to welcome a record number of immigrants to Canada includes bringing in needed workers, but experts and employers say more could be done to help newcomers arrive and thrive in their new home.

… “If we don’t have immigration, our workforce will not grow,” said Anil Verma, professor emeritus of industrial relations and human resources management at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

According to the government’s fall economic statement, “Immigration is core to our identity as Canadians, while also being a key driver of Canada’s economic growth.”

Absolute bullshit. Propaganda designed to serve the corporate class who want as large a pool of wage slaves as possible. That’s what “growing our workforce” means.

Canada lags in productivity because a low dollar and depressed wages serve as subsidies to business. Automation is making its impact felt in many sectors. Justin remains intent on destroying the oil and gas sector despites Freeland’s “Friend shoring” Happy Talk. And the Bank of Canada has told corporate Canada to hold down wages – so they can fight inflation, on the backs of the poor. Are all these immigrants going to learn to code?

Canadian Heritage Department Bought Maple Leaf Pins Made in China

The Department of Canadian Heritage bought over $300,000 worth of maple leaf pins made in China, according to records presented in the House of Commons, despite MPs condemning the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for genocide last year.

According to a House “Inquiry of Ministry” obtained by Blacklock’s Reporter, the department has spent exactly $344,513 over the past two years on Chinese-manufactured Canada flag pins.

Not an accident, just everyday Liberal corruption.

Loblaw tops big Canadian grocers in profit reports amid inflation surge: analysis

Canada’s top three grocers all posted higher profits this year compared with their average performances over the last five years, new research from Dalhousie University has found.

Critics have accused grocers of so-called greedflation, suggesting they are profiteering at a time when food prices are rising at the fastest rate in more than 40 years, and researchers say a lack of transparency in their financial results isn’t helping.

GOLDSTEIN: Ford and Trudeau are eroding our democratic rights

Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s use of the Charter’s notwithstanding clause to override collective bargaining rights poses the same threat to democracy as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of the Emergencies Act to override the rights of people protesting vaccine mandates.

Trudeau is guilty as charged but someone has to reign in the teachers & public service unions. Their collective greed impoverishes everyone else.

Free Bird: On Elon Musk and Twitter

In more than a decade on Twitter, Walter Kirn watched as the platform manipulated reality in real-time. Now? ‘Let the wild rumpus begin.’

Let me tell you about my strange time on Twitter, a so-called “social-media platform” of the early 21st century. In what I suspect is the increasing likelihood that digital records of our lives now will someday be erased, mislaid, or virtually composted in such a way as to make them irretrievable, the little story I’m about to tell may make little sense to future generations. It takes place during the period when the American establishment sought to control the flow of information in much the same way it once pursued dominion over resources such as land and oil.

This power grab caused a sort of virtual cold war, and I, as a consumer, a producer, and a conduit of information, got caught in it. Here is how the experience felt and how it went and a statement of what I hope will happen next, now that the purchase of Twitter by Elon Musk promises a better, freer day.

If you want to see media manipulation at work closer to home read the comments at CBC announcing Trudeau’s plan to flood the nation with 500K of immigrants a year. The majority are not in favour of Justin’s plan to sell us out to his corporate friends. The immigration announcement was timed for release after a story was planted in Canadian media outlets this week pushing the lie that Canadians are overwhelmingly in favour of mass immigration. We are governed by criminals.

Trudeau seeks to flood country with new goal of 500K immigrants per year … for your own good of course

The federal government is planning a massive increase in the number of immigrants entering Canada, with a goal of seeing 500,000 people arrive each year by 2025.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser revealed the new targets Tuesday, saying the move is necessary to ensure Canada’s economic prosperity.

Canadian industries are facing a significant labour shortage, with about one million job vacancies across the country.

Who benefits?

Corporate Canada gets the depressed wages it wants.

Bank of Canada gets to fight inflation on the backs of the working class.

The rich will get richer off the contrived shortages citizens will face in everything from food to shelter.

Trudeau gets to play divide and conquer and hope a few votes come his way.

Be clear about this. Your country is being sold to corporate interests by the Trudeau government.

Sikh independence referendum in Canada unfolds amid angry clashes, India’s condemnation

… The referendum — unofficial and binding on no one — has stirred up passions that are fuelling a spate of anti-Hindu hate incidents here in Canada, charges Manish, India’s acting high commissioner, who goes by just one name.

Attention has focused on the recent defacing of a Hindu temple in Toronto and a nearby statue of Mahatma Gandhi with pro-independence graffiti.

“They’re using Canadian territory for activities which could jeopardize India’s security and interests,” Manish said in an interview. “If the (Canadian) government can do something about (the referendum) and try to prevent it, that would be useful because it only creates a bad atmosphere and incites violence against India and Indians.”

Jamie Sarkonak: The Liberals’ illiberal diversity plan for government purchases

If you’ve dismissed identity politics as frivolous, artificial and American, you may want to reconsider. For Canadian businesses dealing with the federal government, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is very real, and its impact can be very expensive. Not only that — it’s unfair and illiberal.

The good news is that Trudeau and his ministers will be sentenced to lengthy prison terms at the future Truth and Reconciliation hearings covering Liberal Party Acts Of Racism against Canadian Citizens.

The MP to mayor pipeline: Why so many provincial and federal politicians are heading to city hall

Poke your head into any city hall across the country, and there’s a chance you’ll find a former MP or member of the provincial legislature sitting in the mayor’s chair.

Recent municipal elections in B.C., Ontario and Manitoba saw scores of seasoned politicians making the jump — or the return — to the local level.

Andrea Horwath is among them. The former Ontario NDP leader is the newly elected mayor of Hamilton, Ont.

”Certainly I had accomplishments that really did affect all of Ontario, as an opposition leader,” she told CBC Radio’s The House. ”But the municipal order of government really is the closest to the people.”

What horseshit. They’re Lifestyle Politicians leveraging whatever name recognition they may hold into yet another chance at the Public Tit. Tory was reelected with 29% voter turnout. It doesn’t take much to cross the goal line in municipal politics.

It’s what they do because it’s lucrative and feeds their sense of self-importance and entitlement.

We need term limits and reduced benefits.

MPs back motion calling on government to recognize residential schools program as genocide

Members of Parliament gave unanimous consent Thursday in favour of a motion calling on the federal government to recognize Canada’s residential schools as genocide.

Leah Gazan, the NDP member of Parliament for Winnipeg Centre, introduced the motion following Question Period Thursday afternoon. Gazan brought forward a similar motion in June last year, but it did not receive unanimous consent.

That sets a pretty low bar.

Chinese police operatives operating in Canada, U.S. says in new court filing

A recently unsealed indictment in the United States alleges that Beijing’s overseas campaign to put pressure on Chinese nationals to return and face criminal charges in the People’s Republic China includes enforcement efforts on Canadian soil.

These U.S. accusations have come to light about six weeks after Spain-based human rights group Safeguard Defenders alleged three of China’s more than 50 overseas police stations are operating in Toronto. China’s embassy in Canada has denied this.

Once again foreign nations, in this case Spain and the USA , are the source of information Canadians were in the dark about.

Emergencies Act Inquiry to hear CSIS evidence on ‘Freedom Convoy’ in secret

OTTAWA—A judge leading the federal inquiry into the Liberal government’s use of a special emergency law to end the ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests has agreed to hear evidence from Canada’s spy agency at a secret hearing.

In a ruling made public late Wednesday, Justice Paul Rouleau said the federal government asked for a secret hearing — behind closed doors and without other parties present — in order for his commission counsel to examine employees of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service on evidence related to the convoy protest that the agency claims is classified.

It all centres around evidence not yet tabled at the inquiry. And it is unclear what is the subject of the CSIS intelligence that the spy agency wants to protect.

What do they have to hide?
