The scandal that shocked Parliament in the spring is slowly fading from memory

For a few weeks in June, concerns ran high on Parliament Hill about unnamed MPs or senators possibly being compromised, perhaps even consciously, by foreign states — fears raised by a startling but opaque report by the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians.

“We cannot and must not remain indifferent in light of such a revelation,” Bloc Quebecois MP Rene Villemure said.

Under Weak Democrat Leadership, U.S. Unprepared For Looming War With China

The Commission on the National Defense Strategy recently released a report warning that the United States faces the most severe and pressing defense challenges since 1945. The report not only emphasizes the potential for a near-term major war but also underscores the urgent need for action, making the gravity of the situation clear.

The commission, having meticulously reviewed both public and classified information, has identified China and Russia as major adversaries seeking to undermine the United States’ global influence. However, the commission’s greatest concern lies with China. Its report reveals that “in many ways, China is outpacing the United States and has largely negated the U.S. military advantage in the Western Pacific through two decades of focused military investment,” which is a cause for grave concern.

Liberal Party director claims ignorance on alleged Chinese election interference

Azam Ishmael, the Liberal Party’s national director, testified that he did not know whether Chinese Communist Party agents played a role in helping elect a Liberal MP in 2019.

Blacklock’s Reporter says his remarks came during an intense questioning session at the Commission on Foreign Interference, where Ishmael repeatedly stated, “I don’t know” when asked if foreign interference had impacted the election outcome.

In Bid for Global Dominance, Beijing Builds EV Factories in Africa

JOHANNESBURG—China has started to build factories across Africa to manufacture electric vehicles, a strategy market analysts say will likely flood the world with cheap EVs and allow Chinese companies to dominate the global automobile industry far into the future.

Automakers under the communist regime are already benefiting from huge subsidies, resulting in dramatic increases in production and allowing China to severely undercut prices of EVs made elsewhere, including in the United States.

One study shows Beijing has given China’s EV manufacturers at least $231 billion in state aid over 15 years, from 2009 until the end of 2023.

China to train thousands of overseas law enforcement officers to create ‘more fair’ world order

China will train thousands of foreign law enforcement officers so as to see the world order “develop in a more fair, reasonable and efficient direction”, its minister for public security has said.

“We will [also] send police consultants to countries in need to conduct training to help them quickly and effectively improve their law enforcement capabilities,” minister Wang Xiaohong told an annual global security forum.

Wang Xiaohong made the announcement in the eastern city of Lianyungang on Monday in front of law enforcement representatives from 122 countries, regions and international organisations such as Interpol.

China Casting the Decisive Vote in U.S. Election

The U.S. Department of Justice on September 4 announced it was seizing 32 internet domains “used in Russian government-directed foreign malign influence campaigns colloquially referred to as ‘Doppelganger.'” DOJ also announced criminal charges against two Russian media executives.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control at the same time designated 10 individuals and two entities “as part of a coordinated U.S. government response to Moscow’s malign influence efforts targeting the 2024 U.S. presidential election.” The State Department also took actions against Russian parties for such conduct.

Outrage at White House’s ‘Dismissive’ Attitude Toward Damning Report on China Subsidizing Fentanyl Production

A congressman, speaking exclusively to the Sun, is expressing outrage over the White House’s dismissal of a congressional investigative report finding that the Chinese government is actively incentivizing and promoting the production of fentanyl, which has greatly exacerbated America’s opioid epidemic.

The House Select Committee On The Strategic Competition Between The United States And The Chinese Communist Party released a lengthy investigative report earlier this year unveiling new evidence that Communist China — already acknowledged as a primary source of fentanyl precursors — is also directly fueling the exports of “illicit fentanyl materials” through government subsidies in the form of tax rebates to companies that produce them for use outside of China, among other findings.

Hunter and Joe must still be getting a cut.

Nearly two-thirds of Canadians support tariff on Chinese-made EVs, poll finds

Nearly two-thirds of Canadians show some level of support for Ottawa’s plan to add a 100-per-cent tariff on Chinese-made electric vehicles, a new poll has found.

Ten per cent of respondents polled said they oppose the tariff and 17 per cent said they somewhat oppose it.

Freeland tells court federally-chartered digital bank compromised by Chinese Communist Party

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has alleged Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents have infiltrated Wealth One Bank of Canada and coerced shareholders.

The news comes just two months after a special committee confirmed there are 11 spies on Parliament Hill who have worked for or cooperated with CCP operatives.

The Liberal Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the CCP.

CHARLEBOIS: ‘Charging’ ahead, canola be damned

Canada’s decision to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) last week was a predictable move. Ottawa fully anticipated retaliation, which came swiftly as China announced an anti-dumping investigation into Canadian canola exports. While there is no evidence of actual dumping, the facts are largely irrelevant in this case. China will proceed with sanctions regardless of the explanations provided by the Canola Council or Canadian diplomatic channels. Much like in 2019, when Canada faced a similar impasse, we could see borders close again for Canadian agricultural exports.

Liberal MP won’t comment on affidavit alleging Chinese election interference in her riding

Liberal MP Leah Taylor Roy (Aurora-Oak Ridges, ON) on Monday would not comment on an affidavit alleging Chinese Communist Party (CCP) operatives interfered in her riding.

Taylor Roy was honoured as a “new local star” at a Chinese Canadian banquet nine days before the election was called, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

The Not-So-Secret Dirty Facts About China’s ‘Clean Energy’ Production

China’s production of batteries for electric vehicles is “definitely not clean,” says energy expert Diana Furchtgott-Roth.

Without its own vast natural energy resources, China is the world’s largest energy importer, but has seized on the economic opportunities of the “green energy” movement. Yet the production of products such as EVs is causing harm to the environment, says Furchtgott-Roth, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment.

Chinese government hackers penetrate U.S. internet providers to spy

Chinese government-backed hackers have penetrated deep into U.S. internet service providers in recent months to spy on their users, according to people familiar with the ongoing American response and private security researchers.

The unusually aggressive and sophisticated attacks include access to at least two major providers with millions of customers as well as to several smaller providers, people familiar with the separate campaigns said.

“It is business as usual now for China, but that is dramatically stepped up from where it used to be. It is an order of magnitude worse,” said Brandon Wales, who until earlier this month was executive director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA.

Important New Poll Reveals Most Americans Know China Is Funding the Fentanyl Murder of More than 100,000 Americans Each Year

In a recent national poll, more than half of responding Americans believe that China is deliberately exporting fentanyl to the United States for the purpose of harming, or even destabilizing our nation.

Were that true, some might reasonably describe that strategy as an act of war.

For China, it would be historic payback time.

Having lost a generation, a nation, and an empire to opium introduced by Imperial Britain during the 1800s, no one knows better than the Chinese that a drug scourge can bring a country literally to its knees.

CCP’s Harassment and Intimidation of Canadians a ‘Serious Problem’: Think Tank Study

Canada has a “serious problem” when it comes to foreign interference by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), according to a new study that investigated the regime’s harassment and intimidation of Chinese-Canadians on Canadian soil.

The research, based on a survey conducted by think tank SecondStreet.org, highlighted that most respondents believed they were targeted for their beliefs—specifically, whether they practised the Falun Gong spiritual faith or Christianity, expressed support for Hong Kong, or simply spoke out in favour of democracy.
