The mother of two young kids and founder of the Ontario Families Coalition has advocated for in-class learning to be maintained throughout the pandemic, even if a moderate number of cases are reported in the community.

If Mandates Fail, What Will Politicians Do for an Encore?

The resort to “mandatory” measures by many governments around the world is, on the one hand, regarded as a power grab by publics who have seen once supposedly sacrosanct “rights” disappear one after the other, but it is also a sign of growing desperation among leaders who are no longer confident they can eradicate covid and return to “normal.” They are compensating for their powerlessness over nature by intensifying their power over men. The idea, born of frustration with the partial failure of previous and much-touted efforts, is that with enough control, the march to normalcy can be resumed.

The government could well end up unintentionally uniting groups it has spent decades playing against each other to increase federal power.

CNN Fires 3 Unvaccinated Employees Citing ‘Zero-Tolerance Policy’

CNN president Jeff Zucker, in a memo to staff, announced that three employees who went into the office unvaccinated have been fired.

In the memo, first obtained by the New York Times, Zucker explained that the firing had been the result of the network’s ‘zero-tolerance policy’ toward unvaccinated employees.

“In the past week, we have been made aware of three employees who were coming to the office unvaccinated,” he announced. “All three have been terminated.”

What provinces have to say about vaccine passports

With the Delta variant potentially fuelling the start of a fourth wave of COVID-19 in Canada, the question remains how the provincial and federal governments will handle dealing with vaccinated and unvaccinated Canadians.

Several provinces have already issued some form of vaccine passport or certificate, while others are waiting for a federal vaccine passport, and still other provinces have ruled out the idea entirely.
