The Corners-to-Prison Pipeline

This past June, federal prosecutors, working with the Baltimore Police Department, indicted 15 members of a lethal gang known as “CCC” or “Triple C” (which, in a revealing indicator of our cultural decline, reportedly stands for Cruddy Conniving Crutballs, not the Civilian Conservation Corps). Gang members had allegedly committed 18 murders and attempted 27 more between 2015 and 2020. Though that’s less than 1 percent of Baltimore’s stratospheric homicide total during that period, onlookers might still be tempted to find in the news grounds for optimism that Baltimore’s long-running crime wave is cresting.

Baltimoreans know better.

‘They Knew Everything and Did Nothing’: Is This Why the Feds Dithered On Going After Jeffrey Epstein?

He was a terrible human being. No one is really sad that he’s gone, but there are a lot of questions about Jeffrey Epstein and his untimely death. Was it suicide? That’s the official designation. I don’t think there’s anyone in America who isn’t suspicious of what happened to the wealthy and connected hedge fund manager who reportedly had tapes of debauchery with prominent individuals. His “pedophile island” was also reportedly wired for sound. He had connections to some of the most powerful people on the planet, including the Clintons and members of the British Royal Family. It’s not hard to see how there could be many, MANY people with a vested interest in seeing Epstein dead after his indictment for trafficking underage girls, which was handed down in July of 2019. On August 10, 2019, he was dead.

Fired bureaucrat was ‘ringleader’ of group that took millions in government money, court hears

The Ontario bureaucrat fired after the alleged theft of $11 million in pandemic aid was a “ringleader,” whose “co-conspirators” are now being investigated for a wider fraud, court has heard.

Crown lawyer Christopher Wayland said Thursday that further allegations against Sanjay Madan are being pursued and predicted others would soon be hauled into court.

In documents filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the province alleges “some or all of” Madan, his spouse Shalini, their adult sons Chinmaya and Ujjawal, and associate Vidhan Singh perpetrated “a massive fraud” to divert COVID-19 funds to numerous bank accounts at branches of TD, Bank of Montreal, Royal Bank of Canada, Tangerine, and India’s ICICI Bank.

It really pays to be a white collar criminal in Canada.

I, Criminal – Channeling a view from the other side

I am a criminal. Nice to meet you. I am 21 years old, right at the peak of my criminal power. I live in a big city. I have been to juvenile placement, county jail, and state prison. Let me tell you what I think about today’s criminal-justice system.

Before we go any further, please disabuse yourself of the notion that I am dumb. I watch, listen, and learn from what happens around me. In some ways, I’m probably smarter than you. I bought three kilograms of cocaine for $93,000 last week. Quick: tell me how many quarter pounds, ounces, and eight-balls I have, and what should I sell each amount for if I need to make $250,000. I did that in my head while you were reaching for a calculator.

Philadelphia as a case study in the wave of shootings nationwide

Like most major cities around the country, Philly saw a sharp rise in shootings and murders last year which hasn’t abated. But unlike most of those cities, Philly’s crime wave is on track to surpass even the very worst years of the early 1990s. In other words, whatever it is that is happening with regard to violent crime nationwide is happening even more so in Philly.

The City of Anarchy: Calling Chicago “Chiraq” is now an insult to Iraq

Every Monday in the city of anarchy, on what Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot once called “Accountability Mondays” without irony, the media tallies the number of the weekend murdered dead and the wounded.

And the Democrat politicians point fingers at each other.

More than 70 people were shot this past weekend, with 12 dead. Over the July 4 weekend, more than 100 people were shot, among them more than a dozen children, and 19 were killed. And so on, weekend after weekend, weekday after weekday.
