I don’t have any assets in Canadian financial institutions or subsidiaries, but if I did, I’d transfer them out right away. For the same reason I wouldn’t hold assets in any other lawless country run by a tinpot dictator who weaponizes the private sector to carry out his political purge.

With the world reopening, and even US blue states and cities repealing mandates, how optimistic should we be? A little bit is warranted but not that much. On Monday, the nation of Canada witnessed what should be the most frightening scene a free country can witness. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoked Canada’s version of “The Emergency Powers Act.” This effectively has given Trudeau total power over the government and Canada’s citizens. Almost immediately after doing so, he suspended most if not all rights the citizens of Canada enjoy by invoking “Martial Law.”
Canadian Police on Friday moved in to break up the more than three-week-old “Freedom Convoy” demonstration in the capital of Ottawa, as video and photos of the action posted on social media appeared to shock many people.
A group of Canadian premiers and U.S. governors has urged U.S. President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to abandon a vaccine mandate for truckers traveling across borders. On Wednesday, a coalition of 16 governors and two premiers sent a letter to Canadian and U.S. governments requesting that truckers crossing between the two countries be granted vaccine and quarantine exemptions. The mandate, according to the letter, is putting additional strain on already stressed supply chains.

Ottawa’s Stella Luna Gelato Café was forced to close Tuesday after receiving threats when owner Tammy Giuliani’s name appeared on a hacked list of GiveSendGo donors to the Ottawa “Freedom Convoy.”
Giuliani says that she now regrets making her $250 donation on Feb. 5 and that staff in the shop had begun receiving threats Monday morning after her donation was posted on Twitter.

Marion Isabeau-Ringuette parted ways with Premier Doug Ford’s government on Tuesday afternoon, 10 days after she donated money to the so-called “Freedom Convoy.”
“Ms. Isabeau-Ringuette no longer works for the Ontario government,” Ivana Yelich, Ford’s executive director of media relations, said Tuesday evening.
N.B. business owner says he donated $75,000 to Freedom Convoy
A business owner from the southern New Brunswick village of Sussex Corner has confirmed he made what appears to be one of the largest donations to the Freedom Convoy that has gridlocked the streets of Ottawa around Parliament Hill.
In a written statement Monday afternoon, Brad Howland, president of the pressure-washing company Easy Kleen, called the protest “a beautiful, legal, peaceful protest,” which he visited on the weekend.

Speaking with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Ezra Levant, the founder of Rebel News, detailed how outlandish the statements from Trudeau were. He stated, “There is no revolution in the streets of Canada. You see for yourself, it’s a festival environment. There’s no violence. It’s happy — moms and dads and kids. Trudeau is claiming they’re dangerous, claiming they’re terrorists so he can seize bank accounts. The most scary thing announced today by the finance minister, who was on the World Economic Forum board, is that banks will be directed to seize your accounts without due process and you can’t even sue them. They’re indemnified. He is going after his political opponents to seize their resources Venezuela style.”
Since invoking the Emergencies Act at 4:30 pm on February 14, multiple banks have been complying with Trudeau’s order to freeze the accounts of Canadians who donated $25 or more to the Freedom Convoy’s fundraising campaigns.
