Has the BBC met its nemesis in Trump’s formidable $5billion suit?

MAKE no mistake, Donald Trump’s $5billion (£3.7billion) defamation lawsuit against the BBC, filed yesterday, is a formidable document: it is a tightly constructed, meticulously argued claim that accuses the Corporation not merely of error but of intentional deception on a scale that, if proven, could be the most damaging legal defeat in its history.

Filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the complaint names the BBC, BBC Studios Distribution, and BBC Studios Productions as defendants. It seeks $5billion in damages for defamation and for alleged violations of Florida’s consumer protection laws.

Donald Trump sues BBC for $10bn

Donald Trump has filed a $10bn (£7.4bn) lawsuit against the BBC, accusing the broadcaster of defamation.

The US president’s lawyers filed court papers in Florida on Monday over a doctored speech that made Mr Trump appear to encourage the Capitol Hill riot.

In November, The Telegraph disclosed that Panorama spliced together parts of an address given by Mr Trump on Jan 6 2021, before some of his supporters attacked the US Capitol building. The edit omitted Mr Trump’s calls for people to march “peacefully”.

Fake News in the 21st Century: The egregious, unethical sin of omission

We have heard a great deal about Fake News over the decades. But we have not discussed the fake news that is the result of the egregious unethical omission of facts.

I am old enough to remember Donald Rumsfeld when he wrote about the known knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. Many laughed. I didn’t. I realized that he could be talking about the failure of MSM – the failure to report ALL the facts:The unknown unknowns. Sadly, once Fake News is shared online, it is there forever. Far too few people fact check. They just blindly believe.

Terry Newman: CTV delivers another shameful example of anti-Poilievre bias

With a federal election that could come any day now, and the Liberal government’s public favour continually waning, some, shall we say, unorthodox media practices appear to be afoot, particularly in terms of how Pierre Poilievre is being presented to Canadian viewers. The Conservatives are always complaining about progressive media bias. This is what they mean.

German Court: Reporting on ‘Remigration’ Conspiracy Was False

AfD’s legal representative says left-wing media dreamed up the Potsdam plot.

Claims by a German state-funded, left-wing media outlet about a conspiracy to conduct the mass deportation of migrants have been shattered in court. A ruling by a court in Hamburg prohibits public broadcasters from repeating the allegation that the expulsion of German citizens of foreign origin was discussed by participants at a meeting in Potsdam last November.

Germany funds something on the order of 27 “news sites.”

US: The New Real Hoaxes?

Recently former US President Donald Trump challenged the award of Pulitzer Prizes to the New York Times and the Washington Post for their investigative reporting on alleged collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and Russia.

The investigative reporting by these two organizations was so thorough and groundbreaking it turned up things that were not even there.

You have to hand it to them for this so-called “great reporting”: the Pulitzer Committee sure did.

US “Journalists” continue to spread “Mass Graves” lie

From the Daily Beast…

ROME—Pope Francis will arrive in Canada on Sunday to ask for atonement for the hasty burial of hundreds of Indigenous children—as young as 3—who died in the Catholic Church’s care from the 19th century to the 1970s.

The trip is a product of the 2021 discovery of an unmarked grave containing the remains of some 215 Indigenous children who died in a Catholic residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. Around 150,000 Indigenous children were taken from families to be “retrained” in Christian beliefs in the 19th century in a practice that carried on for decades.

There’s really no excuse for this nonsense. No graves, no bodies, no nothing but a twisted narrative.

The truth about Canada’s Indian graves

The indigenous industry is thriving off fake news

On 27 May 2021, the Chief of the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc — a First Nations government in British Columbia — announced that ground penetrating radar (GPR) had located the remains of 215 “missing children”. These were allegedly “undocumented deaths” from the Kamloops Indian Residential School, which had closed 52 years ago.

The young anthropologist who conducted the GPR search later added a note of caution: only a forensic investigation could confirm that these were indeed burials. But a moral panic had already been unleashed. Politicians and the media immediately seized on the first announcement, and “burials of missing children” was the storyline that ricocheted around Canada and much of the world. Meanwhile, several other First Nations that had at one time hosted residential schools hired their own anthropologists armed with GPR and announced similar discoveries. Weeks later, almost exactly a year ago, in June 2021, the Cowessess First Nation announced the discovery of 751 unmarked graves at the site of another former residential school in Saskatchewan.

Trudeau Government “Reminds Me Of Islamic Republic” Says Iranian Refugee

“It is not just the government that reminds me of the Islamic Republic. The current state of the legacy media, paid for by Justin Trudeau, is just as bad as anything I saw in Iran, arguably worse.”

“If I hadn’t seen the truth with my own eyes while on the ground here in Ottawa I would not be able to believe the level of lies and fake news being spread.”

Legacy media promotes leftist protesters while smearing conservative ones

The legacy media has a double standard when it comes to covering protests in Canada. According to the media, protesters on the political right are “angry and racist” but protesters on the left are righteous and worthy of interviews. Plus, a recent protest in Brampton debunks the media’s fake and dishonest narrative of “angry and racist” protests targeting leftist politicians.

Press group won’t investigate fake news by left-wing journalist

The Chair of the National News Media Council is refusing to investigate claims that a left-wing journalist misrepresented her arrest by RCMP officers during an anti-pipeline protest in subsequent reporting.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Chair John Fraser claimed that the matter was outside of the organization’s mandate – despite that mandate involving investigating breaches of journalistic standards among members.

No evidence of terrorist activity during convoy protests: RCMP financial crime director

The Trudeau government has repeatedly claimed that the convoy was foreign-funded and involved terrorist financing. Those claims were in part used to justify the use of the Emergencies Act, which allowed banking institutions to freeze assets of protesters and donors by applying terrorism and money laundering rules.

The Press Has Lied To Drag The United States Into War Before. Don’t Think They Won’t Again

When you see talking heads uncritically parroting propagandist stories about Ukraine that turn out to be false, from the “Ghost of Kyiv” to that Snake Island story to old photos taken years ago, you should be asking why the corporate media is so willing to spread such fake news (while it censors conservatives for factual critiques of disproven Covid narratives, no less). It wouldn’t be the first time the press lied to pull Americans into war.
