Worsening Food Price Increases Gain Global Attention – UN Food and Agriculture Organization Tracks Highest Prices Ever Recorded

Some will say the food prices we are about to experience –and the crisis it will create– was deliberate. Others will say this was the cumulative outcome of major failures on the part of the government. At this point the former makes more sense, and the latter looks like a justification and excuse, because if government entities were really serious about food prices and shortages, they would be taking pragmatic steps to mitigate the problem; they are not.

#BareShelvesBiden trends on Twitter as Americans deal with empty shelves

#BareShelvesBiden became a leading Twitter trend on Sunday evening as social media users across the country took aim at President Joe Biden and his administration for failing to address the ongoing supply chain crisis.

The mandates regarding trucking between the USA and Canada will be going into effect between the middle of January and early February. Top Ag Traders Forecast “Mini Supercycle”

As we’ve previously noted, parts of South America and the Western half of the US are in a drought, affecting future harvest yields. Especially in the US, a megadrought is crushing farmers as reservoirs dry up, with many unable to water their crops.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration set the 2030 greenhouse gas pollution target aimed at increasing biofuels – this means the agricultural product is being diverted for fuel rather than food, driving up prices.

World’s largest cricket processing plant coming to London, Ont.

Many of us can’t imagine popping a cricket into our mouths as a snack. But studies show that eating insects could be good for you and the planet.

Insects are a great source of protein and minerals, such as iron, zinc and magnesium. They include a protein called chitin that encourages healthy bacteria to grow in your stomach.

Also, 100 grams of insects (crickets, beetles, red ants and grasshoppers) contains almost the same amount of protein as meat, but with less fat and fewer calories.
