John Ivison: Liberals’ climate plan comes with too much of the messianic message

As George Orwell once said of Christianity and socialism, the worst advertisement for environmentalism is its adherents.

In particular, Justin Trudeau in full messianic flow is enough to make even the most ecologically conscious among us request a plastic bag next time we go to the supermarket.

It’s theft.

Delusional Narcissist Goes Full Reset

Recovery from coronavirus pandemic must include ‘ambitious’ climate change plan: Trudeau

Countries rebuilding from the devastation left by the novel coronavirus pandemic must do so in a way that includes an “ambitious plan to take strong action against climate change,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Saturday.

“We will raise our emission reduction ambitions,” he said in a pre-recorded video. “And in partnership with provinces and territories, we as a country will strive for the upper end of a range of 32 to 40 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030.“

Doug Ford Goes Off On Federal Gov’t Over Carbon Tax ‘Green Scam’

TORONTO — Ontario Premier Doug Ford reverted to his pre-pandemic self Friday after the federal government said it would increase the carbon tax every year for a decade and spend $15 billion to reduce emissions.

“Folks, this carbon tax is gonna be the worst thing you could ever see,” Ford said at a press conference about the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I’m a strong believer of protecting the environment. But you don’t have to protect the environment on the backs of the hard-working people of this province and of this country at a time that people are just barely holding on by their fingernails.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau ‘Great Reset’ is to break his promise on carbon taxes

After his Liberal government repeatedly assured Canadians prior to last year’s election that his carbon tax would be frozen at $50 per tonne of emissions in 2022, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Friday he will raise it to $170 per tonne by 2030.

That will increase the cost of gasoline by about 38 cents per litre, plus the cost of home heating fuels such as natural gas and oil.

Trudeau’s cash grab useless to the environment carbon tax is going up. Here’s how much more you could pay at the pumps

The federal government’s carbon tax in provinces without their own emissions reductions plans will keep rising after 2022 to hit a total of $170 per tonne by 2030 under a major new climate plan unveiled Friday.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and several ministers announced the details of how they plan to fulfil the pledge to get the country to exceed its 2030 emissions reductions targets under the Paris Accord.

GOLDSTEIN: UN critical of Canada, global elites on greenhouse gases

The United Nations Environment Program says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is failing to meet his greenhouse gas reduction targets and rich, global elites are fouling the planet with their obscene level of energy consumption.

The UN’s annual emissions gap report, released Wednesday, said even if Canada’s emissions for 2020 are down by the estimated global average of 7% because of the pandemic recession, Trudeau is unlikely to meet his 2020 target of cutting emissions to 17% below 2005 levels.

GOLDSTEIN: Recession cutting greenhouse gases, not Trudeau’s policies

The good news is Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is presiding over the largest annual drop in Canada’s industrial greenhouse gas emissions linked to human-induced climate change in three decades.

The bad news is this is happening not because of government policies like Trudeau’s national carbon tax/price, but because of the global recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Musk: Electric Cars Will Require a Lot More Electric Power Than We Currently Have

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Tuesday that electricity consumption will double if the world’s car fleets are electrified, increasing the need to expand nuclear, solar, geothermal and wind energy generating sources.

Wind, Solar and Geo-thermal are non-viable as large scale sources of energy. Nuclear is the only solution but the environuts will block necessary construction.

That reveals the end game.

They don’t want you to have cars, they don’t want you to have the freedom of travel.

They want you as serfs in the yoke of eco-tyranny.

Good news! Green fanatics to self extinct: People aren’t having kids because of impending climate ‘apocalypse,’ study suggests

People are deciding to not have kids over fears of them having to live through what they describe as an impending climate apocalypse, a new academic study found.

Researchers found that in a survey of 607 people aged 27 to 45 who considered climate change as a factor in their choice to have kids, over 96 per cent were either “very” or “extremely concerned” about the “well-being of their existing, expected or hypothetical children in a climate-changed world.”

There’s an upside to everything if you look hard enough.

Electric Vehicles Will Drive Us to Serf City

Love them or hate them, electric vehicles (EVs) are in our future. If you doubt that, look at signs. Car companies around the world are in a mad rush to pivot to EV manufacturing. Some examples follow.
“Since March 2019, General Motors has committed to invest more than $4.5 billion in three U.S. manufacturing sites to prepare for EV-related production. The company announced it plans to release at least 20 new electric vehicles globally by 2023.” This includes a monstrous Hummer which GM is repositioning as a pickup truck to compete directly against Tesla.

Bjorn Lomborg: The electric car won’t get us very far

Electric cars will achieve only tiny emissions savings at a very high price

In a move to jump-start the market for electric cars in Quebec, the government of Premier François Legault this month announced a ban on the sale of new gas-powered cars from 2035. Similarly, leaders across the rich world, including U.S. president-elect Joe Biden and U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who just announced an even more ambitious deadline of 2030, promise lavish carrots along with sticks to outlaw gasoline cars. Unfortunately, electric cars will achieve only tiny emissions savings at a very high price.

The Return of Obama–Biden Energy Cronyism

Green lobbyists and other Obama favorites are about to enter a new golden age.

After 47 years in government, hundreds of relationships with Washington insiders, and a son who made millions off the family name from foreign regimes, the media is “shocked” that the incoming Biden administration is planning on filling dozens of high-level positions with lobbyists.

From pharmaceutical to Big Tech lobbyists, the Biden administration is placing the “Open for Business” sign at the D.C. trough. Among those most excited to start feasting are the energy industry lobbyists, who made millions during the Obama–Biden years.

Canada’s climate-change child soldiers: The exploitation of children to front a climate-change lawsuit is ethically troubling

On Nov. 12 an Ontario judge refused to strike out a lawsuit by a group of two minor children and five youths alleging that the Ontario government’s 2018 reduction in its climate-change target by 15 per cent violates their constitutional rights to life, liberty and security of the person. This judgment conflicts with a judgment of the Federal Court two weeks earlier, striking out an almost identical claim. The Ontario court should have followed the Federal Court precedent.
