“Jussie is currently in a psych ward at the Cook County Jail,” Jocqui Smollett said in a video posted to the Empire actor’s Instagram. “What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to his paperwork today and put on the front of his jail cell saying that he’s at risk of self-harm.”

On Thursday Smollett – once a darling of the music and TV world for his success on the show Empire – was sentenced to 150 days in jail.
The star was convicted last year of five felony counts of disorderly conduct for lying to police repeatedly when he claimed he was the victim of a race hate attack in January and February 2019.

The Cook County Jail where the “Empire” actor will spend the next 150 days has faced hundreds of lawsuits over the years, with inmates alleging overcrowding, violent treatment and not enough protection against other inmates.
In the past few months alone, a person behind bars accused the jail of forcing him to share a cell with someone who had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx penned an op-ed in the Chicago Sun-Times expressing her outrage over the conclusion of actor Jussie Smollett’s sentencing hearing on Thursday after being found guilty of staging a hate crime in 2019.
Foxx accused Smollett’s trial of being “damaging, costly, and disingenuous criminal prosecution” that showed “the system can be easily manipulated in furtherance of thinly veiled political agendas.”

CHICAGO – The Jussie Smollett saga has come to an end – for now.
A Chicago judge sentenced the fallen star to 150 days in jail and 30 months of probation Thursday for lying to police more than three years after he asked two men to “fake beat him up” and shout racist and homophobic slurs at him in an elaborate scheme to raise his public profile.
The actor then told the court angrily: “I am innocent. . . I did not do this.”

Republicans and Democrats in the Senate came together unanimously on Monday to expand federal hate crime laws by passing an “anti-lynching” bill inspired by the “attempted modern day lynching” of Jussie Smollett three years ago in MAGA country.
Sentencing is set to take place on March 10 for former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, after being found guilty near the beginning of December of five of six counts of lying to the police and staging a fake hate crime.
Jussie Smollett’s legal team have filed documents to request a new trial unless the judge reverses the verdict and finds him not guilty of disorderly conduct for faking the police report, according to TMZ.
The actor requested the new trial two months after he was found guilty by the jurors of five of the six felony charges against him.
The outlet reported that Jussie claimed his constitutional rights were violated after his legal team was blocked from participating in the juror selection process.

As every good Leftist knows and very much wants you to admit, America is a racist, hate-filled country in which people of color, Muslims, and other victim classes are routinely subjected to discrimination, harassment, and even violence. The only problem with our culture of “systemic racism,” which Critical Race Theory advocates claim to be working hard to transform for the good, is that it’s not even close to being backed up by reality. Again and again, the hate crimes that are invoked as evidence of the “white supremacist” violence that the government and media tell us so much about turn out to be fake. Just before Christmas, yet another hate crime was unmasked as a hoax; the Critical Race Theory crowd would be embarrassed by all this fakery, if they were capable of embarrassment.
