New report finds increase in anti-Sikh hate

Every day, Sukhmani, an 11th grader from Scarborough, carefully ties her turban, a practice rooted in faith, discipline, and identity. But she says that the same visible expression of who she is has made her conscious of her identity.

“They are making fun of the fact that I am wearing a Dastaar now, making fun of the fact of me being vegetarian, making fun of the fact that I have hair on my arms and my legs. It’s really not the most encouraging thing to go through, especially right after the pandemic,” she says.

No one buys the article’s “Won’t somebody think of the children” opening anymore.

Joly credits immigrants for Terrebonne victory as Liberals targets African immigrants

OTTAWA — Liberal Industry Minister Mélanie Joly pointed to changing demographics following her party’s performance in the Terrebonne byelection, as new figures show Ottawa has spent millions promoting immigration from French-speaking countries abroad.

“Very important community from Haiti, also from northern Africa… things are changing across the country,” Joly said when asked about the result.

There’s no reason for courts to be setting Canadian immigration policy

There’s no reason for courts to be setting Canadian immigration policy

In a recent ruling, Court of Quebec judge Antoine Piché tore a strip off Crown prosecutors who appear before him for discounting sentences based on offenders’ immigration status, to avoid non-citizens being flagged for deportation — which is supposed to happen after a criminal sentence of six months or more is handed down.

I was most intrigued by Piché’s annoyance at the widespread insistence that this doesn’t happen. This is one of those Canadian phenomena that clearly exists — National Post has reported many such cases, many of which wouldn’t be known to the public otherwise — but that we’re supposed to pretend does not.

IRCC orders asylum claimants who crossed U.S. border irregularly to leave or face deportation

Asylum seekers who crossed the border from the United States irregularly and claimed asylum are being ordered by the immigration department to leave Canada as soon as possible or face being deported, after the passing of a new law tightening up asylum rules.

Immigration lawyers have expressed fears that many foreign nationals receiving warning letters from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will now cross back into the U.S. and be detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and deported.

And deported? They say that like it’s a bad thing.

France: Knife-point rape of mother in Vannes leads to arrest of 19-year-old Malian migrant

Between 2012 and 2021, the French court system dismissed 94 percent of rape complaints and 86 percent of sexual violence complaints

A 19-year-old Malian national has been arrested in connection with the rape of a young mother in Vannes, France, on the afternoon of Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Prosecutors state that the two had been in contact over social media when the suspect showed up at her apartment uninvited. Once he had the woman alone, he pulled out a knife and forcibly raped her.

How One Former Migrant Exposed Germany’s Contempt for Free Speech

How One Former Migrant Exposed Germany’s Contempt for Free Speech

A former migrant from Burkina Faso, now a German citizen, has inadvertently laid bare the mechanisms of power and contempt for free speech operating in Germany today.

Until last week, only very few in Germany—outside of Munich—would have heard of Hamado Dipama. This changed after it emerged that he had filed a complaint against the popular online news portal Apollo News for defamation and libel. Apollo has since reported that one of its journalists is facing criminal investigation as a result.

Judge accuses Montreal prosecutors of suggesting lower sentences to prevent deportations

Judge accuses Montreal prosecutors of suggesting lower sentences to prevent deportations

A Quebec judge has condemned what he considers to be a two-tier justice system in Montreal after alleging that prosecutors often recommend more lenient sentences for criminals at risk of being deported.

The Quebec Crown prosecution office, however, is denying the judge’s accusations, saying no directive to such effect has been issued.

In a decision handed down on Wednesday, Quebec Court Justice Antoine Piché slammed prosecutors in Montreal for “regularly” suggesting that offenders receive less severe sentences, including an acquittal in some cases, so as not to jeopardize their immigration status.

Lawyers are merde. You’re right they do hate us.

Geoff Russ: How Canada is becoming a low-trust country

During Easter and Passover, heavily armed police officers were deployed to guard places of religious worship in Toronto. Those are not the traits of a high-trust society, and there are many more pointing to the further barbarization of our country.

Another historic church property in Miramichi was torched over the same Easter Weekend.

Church magazine poet sacked after writing verses about migrants

Church magazine poet sacked after writing verses about migrants

A poet was dropped by a parish church magazine after she sparked anger for writing about migrants and overweight benefit claimants.

Diana Hunt, a regular contributor to the Uplyme Parish News, penned two poems on the state of modern Britain, taking aim at “benefits scroungers”, “boat loads of illegals” and fat people who say they cannot afford to eat.

But a number of residents in the small village of Uplyme, on the Devon-Dorset border, took objection to what they felt were her less than charitable tones.

Toronto mans: The strange, multicultural slang of Toronto’s teenagers

Toronto mans: The strange, multicultural slang of Toronto’s teenagers

“That’s my crodie,” the teenage girl squawks loudly, slapping her male friend on the chest as she lets the final word of her sentence roll on: “-deeeeeeeeeeeee”. Passers-by in Jane Finch, a shopping centre in a downtrodden Toronto suburb, do not recoil at this strange pronunciation. They push past the pair into McDonald’s, where, slumped across seats, schoolchildren roll large spliffs. Their sentences are similarly strange, flecked with terms like “gerbert” and “two-twos”. Asked about Shoreham, a nearby estate, an aggrieved teenager exclaims “oppblock”.

Deportation hearing for Indian extortion suspect halted when officials can’t find him

Deportation hearing for Indian extortion suspect halted when officials can’t find him

The deportation of a Bishnoi extortion gang member was put off on Thursday after federal officials could not find the suspect.

Just minutes into Abjeet Kingra’s deportation hearing, the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) said it had lost track of the Indian citizen.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), which is attempting to deport Kingra, also said it no longer knew his whereabouts.
