Teenager Ellis Wheeler was left fighting for his life after Rebaz Mohammed attacked him as he was walking through a leafy park on his way back from the gym.
Mohammed, who came to the UK illegally on a small boat, was arrested at the scene and told police he had attacked his victim so he could be sent home to Iraq.

The teacher, who is in his late 20s, showed the controversial image to children at Batley Grammar School in West Yorkshire in March 2021, sparking days of heated protests by parents and activists at the school gates.
He was immediately forced to flee his housing association home in Batley with his partner and four young children and since then has been living in a secret location outside the Yorkshire area. He has also been provided with a new identity.

Iran’s supreme leader has called the suspected poisoning of Iranian schoolgirls in recent months an “unforgivable” crime amid signs that hundreds of schoolgirls have been treated in hospital, many more than the regime had previously admitted.
“Authorities should seriously pursue the issue of students’ poisoning. This is an unforgivable and big crime … The perpetrators of this crime should be severely punished,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said. He added there would be no amnesty for those found guilty.
Last week, a 14-year-old British boy was forced to flee his home and go into hiding, fearing for his life. Rather, his is a story of our times – the latest example, some would argue, of what happens when zealotry trumps common sense.

To what end, remains unclear. There was no malicious intent involved, but even for an impulsive adolescent it was obviously foolhardy, particularly given that the holy book, once inside school, became accidentally damaged, though only ‘slightly’ and not by the boy’s hands.
In his defence, he is autistic and, says his mother, ‘doesn’t always realise what is appropriate and what is not appropriate’.

An Islamic schools trust praised for promoting British values is facing questions from the charity watchdog after branding gay people as “evil”.
The Charity Commission has launched a compliance case into the Abu Bakr Trust, which runs three schools and a nursery in Walsall, in the West Midlands, after staff used social media channels to promote anti-gay views.
While one of its schools, which are independent but have received government grants, was found to be inadequate at the last inspection, another was praised by Ofsted for promoting equality and British values. The Telegraph can reveal that just months after the inspection last year the trust posted on Facebook that accepting homosexuality was part of “a fallen culture” and shared a video which said that “when homosexuality is praised and elevated you know the culture has fallen.”

Kaye Forest and Sierra Rayne, in an American Thinker article analyzing the RAND report, go one better than Donald Trump in advocating “a complete moratorium on further immigration from the geographies and ideologies of concern.”

Pakistan’s blasphemy laws have once again been made even more stringent by the country’s lawmakers. Amid a long-running international outcry against the notorious blasphemy laws, the National Assembly of Pakistan on January 17 unanimously passed “The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Act 2023,” which increased the minimum punishment for those found guilty of insulting the Islamic Prophet Mohammad’s companions, wives and family members from three years to 10 years’ imprisonment, along with a fine of 1 million Pakistani rupees ($4,122).
A 10-year-old Dutch girl who got stabbed in the stomach in Gothenburg city center on Thursday afternoon is in a “serious but stable” condition, the police said on Friday. The police have found no connection between the 35-year-old man in custody for the stabbing and the young victim or her family. The suspect has a criminal record and mental health problems, local media reported.

A new report purports to shine a light on how a Hindu nationalist movement has become entrenched in influential circles in the Indian diaspora in Canada and how politicians at all levels have been drawn into its sphere.
The report, commissioned by the National Council of Canadian Muslims and the World Sikh Organization, focuses on the operations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a paramilitary volunteer organization. The RSS is based in India, but has a flourishing global network.
Supporters of the RSS adhere to an ideology known as Hindutva, which espouses the idea of India as a Hindu-first nation. The report points out that the founders of the RSS admired Nazi Germany’s attempts to “keep up the purity of race and culture.”

A Fairfax, Virginia, school board member recommended curriculum materials for teachers to use for their lesson plans which opposed using terms such as “radical Islamic terror,” “Islamic terrorists” and “jihadists” when discussing the history of the Sept. 11 attacks.
Abrar Omeish is a school board member and Georgetown law student who has become marred in controversy over a series of controversial statements. In one instance, she refused to vote on a motion to commemorate 9/11 victims.

A young female student who refused to enter an arranged marriage was brutally murdered by her uncle with a metal spike in her chest in a suspected ‘honour killing,’ a court has heard.
Somaiya Begum was found with the 11cm-long ‘Bradawl’ tool – a sharpened metal woodwork implement – stuck in the right side of her chest.
Prosecutors allege the 20-year-old’s uncle, Mohammed Taroos Khan, used the tool to kill her.
A Moroccan convicted of belonging to an Islamic State-affiliated ring and sentenced to death for the beheadings of two Scandinavian tourists has killed himself in prison, Moroccan officials said.
