Collin May: How the ‘Islamophobia’ Accusation Damaged Me

Collin May, attorney and former director of the Alberta Human Rights Commission (AHRC) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, spoke to a May 5th Middle East Forum Webinar (video) in an interview with Dexter Van Zile, managing editor of the Middle East Forum’s Focus on Western Islamism (FWI). May discussed his ouster from the AHRC in 2022 after being accused of “Islamophobia.” The following is a summary of May’s comments:

Because May wrote a positive review of a book they deemed “Islamophobic” thirteen years earlier, the provincial government in Alberta terminated his employment. May has filed a wrongful dismissal suit against the Alberta government and a notice of defamation on media outlets. May attended Harvard University, where he studied Islamic philosophy. His book review of Efraim Karsh’s Islamic Imperialism was published while he attended law school. In the book, Karsh, former editor of the Middle East Forum’s Middle East Quarterly, addressed the “political dynamics” of Muslim majority countries by covering the “imperial background” of different caliphates in Islam’s history.

The answer to campus radicalism and antisemitism? Defunding

It took the City University of New York (CUNY) nearly three weeks to do it, but the public university’s chancellor and board of trustees eventually got around to condemning an antisemitic speech made at the CUNY Law School graduation ceremony on May 12.

The oration was delivered by graduating student Fatima Mousa Mohammed of Queens, N.Y., a member of Students for Justice in Palestine, the activist wing of the antisemitic BDS movement. In it, she uttered egregious lies about Israel and Zionists but anchored her attacks on the Jewish state in far-left talking points about the evils of capitalism, imperialism, colonialism and “white supremacy.” She railed against the police as well as the federal prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation, which served as fundraisers for the Hamas terrorist group. She spoke of the mission of the future lawyers getting their degrees that day as waging an ongoing battle against the rule of law.

Defunding could work, at least in the short term, but the culture has permanently changed. Below a NYTimes piece defends the Muslima.

She Attacked Israel and the N.Y.P.D. It Made Her Law School a Target.

A student gave a commencement address at the famously progressive CUNY law school. Two weeks later, she was attacked by the tabloids and the mayor, and the school disavowed her speech.

How Sweden Became a Gangster’s Paradise

After the Russian invasion of the Ukraine in February 2022, Sweden and Finland abandoned generations of neutrality to apply for membership in the NATO military alliance. However, there is already a gang war going on in Swedish streets, and it has nothing to do with Russia.

Between January and May 2023, Swedish police recorded on average one completed bomb detonation every two days. If you add the bombs that were in preparation, but not yet detonated, Sweden experienced one explosives-related crime per day. Rival gangs increasingly continue to target each other’s relatives with revenge attacks.

Europe: demography makes history and numbers make culture

Gibbon in The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire wrote what would have been had al-Rahman won at Poitiers:It is happening now.

The name Bordeaux – the sixth metropolitan area of France (1,200,000 inhabitants) – evokes a legendary wine, the cathedral, Montaigne, Montesquieu and the Bourbons.

But demography makes history and numbers make culture.

So a few days ago some parents of students from the Emile Combes college in Bordeaux discovered that the meal offered was halal. An exclusively halal menu, says Bfmtv. Parents are “restless”. And they are right to be. Maybe they remember when, ten years ago, Le Monde branded the fear of halal in schools as a “right-wing conspiracy”. The left lügenpresse.

Debunking the grooming gang debunkers

The focus on this issue is right and proper

“‘Inaccurate’ grooming gang claims putting children at risk” read the Guardian headline, as it reported a new open letter. Hosted by the University of Bedfordshire and signed (so far) by 60 organisations or researchers, it warned the Prime Minister and Home Secretary against making “partial, inaccurate or divisive claims about child sexual abuse”.

What the letter is really worried about is the government’s focus on “group based child sexual exploitation in the community” — commonly known as “grooming gangs”. In the aftermath of the GB News film “Grooming Gangs: Britain’s Shame, Home Secretary Suella Braverman announced new measures, including a new Grooming Gangs Taskforce, which was one of the policies the documentary called for.

The only topic on which a European academic needs armed protection today begins with “i” and ends with “m”

They call them safe houses, but they are the graves of our failed tolerance

“Two men executed for offending the Koran”. It happened in Iran just recently (in the meantime Teheran was elected to lead a UN Human Rights Forum), but it could have been in France, Holland, Germany, Sweden or England, given that large parts of Europe are becoming, in the words of Boualem Sansal, “would-be Islamic republics” and the only topic on which an academic today needs armed protection begins with “i” and ends with “m”.

Canadian Forces Trained Mohammedan On Way To Meet Allah In Hell

Canadian Forces reservist died fighting with ISIS

The Canadian Armed Forces has confirmed that one of its former reservists was killed after making his way to Iraq to join the so-called Islamic State.

Private Bilal Khan enlisted in the terrorist group shortly after he was released from the Canadian military in October 2014, a spokesperson said.

“We are aware that he travelled to Iraq in early 2015 and was killed in November 2015,” said Daniel Le Bouthillier, the Canadian Forces head of media relations.

Marked for death by Islam

He gets 600 death threats a year for criticizing Islam in Europe.

In the country where Spinoza became a prophet of atheism, Karl Marx investigated the roots of capitalism, the Founding Fathers started their journey, Descartes, Rousseau and Sade published their writings and Locke put his hand to the “Letter on Tolerance”, there is a man transformed into a ghost for criticizing Islam: he is the most protected in Europe.

Commencement speaker slams CUNY Law for supporting ‘fascist’ NYPD, oppressive systems

A graduate speaking at the City University of New York’s law school commencement called for a “revolution” to challenge oppressive institutions in the US — name-checking the “fascist” NYPD, the military, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the prison system.

Future lawyer Fatima Mousa Mohammed, a Queens native who was selected by the graduating 2023 class to speak during the May 12 ceremony, praised CUNY for supporting student activism — but said the school still managed to fail students by supporting the NYPD.

Who thought it was a good idea to let these ungrateful bastards into the country?

Briton who called himself the ‘Jihadi Hipster’ jailed for life

A former grammar school boy who called himself the “Jihadi Hipster” has been jailed for life on his return to Britain after spending three years with Islamic State in Syria.

Shabazz Suleman was living with his family in a detached, seven-bedroom house in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, when he vanished on a family holiday to Turkey in August 2014 at the age of 18. He tried to cross into Syria but was captured by Turkish forces. He was then part of a prisoner swap with Isis, which was holding a number of Turkish diplomats.

Bedlam at City Council: Somali ‘Culture’ Takes Minneapolis by Storm

In a May 11, 2023 article, we explored the oft-repeated claim that all cultures are created equal—or, in Pope Francis’s words, “Never again can the Christian community allow itself to be infected by the idea that one culture is superior to others.”

Two days later, that claim was put to test right here in the USA, when all bedlam broke lose in Minneapolis.

The Jihad on Christians in Mozambique

A savage jihad — replete with massacres, beheadings, and sexual enslavement — has been raging in the Christian-majority nation of Mozambique since 2017.

Few in the West are aware of this, not least as the situation has been garbed in Marxist language that seeks to depict radical terrorists as “victims” and those resisting them, including the Mozambican government, as “oppressors.”

Tareena Shakil, From ISIS Recruit to Fashion Blogger

Tareena Shakil – ISIS whore

And guess who she thinks the victim is?

Strange things happening every day, as Sister Rosetta Thorpe once sang, and that is especially true when it comes to the bizarre world of Islam. It’s sometimes necessary, in reading these stories of Muslim goings-on, to believe six impossible things before breakfast. That’s how I felt when I read recent news about Tareena Shakil, a Muslim who was living a perfectly normal Muslim life (if such can be said to exist) in the UK when she up and left to join ISIS…
