A lot of powerful people have a lot to be embarrassed about.

Last week, President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team released a statement acknowledging the existence of an investigation under the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office probing Hunter Biden’s tax affairs. The investigation joins a broader probe examining Hunter’s finances underway by the securities fraud unit in the Southern District of New York, reported by Politico, and another targeting James Biden, Joe Biden’s brother, in Pennsylvania related to a series of hospital deals.

For at least seven years, many when his father was vice president, Hunter Biden pursued a lucrative deal to run an investment firm founded by millions of dollars from a Chinese partnership.

Joe Biden claims he never spoke with Hunter about his dealings, and never profited from any group his family set up, but e-mails and text messages found on Hunter Biden’s old laptop hard drive — first published by The Post — show “the big guy” being referenced repeatedly. A federal investigation into Hunter is ongoing, and Republicans vow to continue to probe how Hunter profited off his father’s name, and what President-elect Biden knew about it.

New documents reported by Fox News Wednesday show communication between Hunter Biden and a Chinese businessman, further implicating former Vice President Joe Biden in his son’s foreign business dealings, Federalist Senior Editor Mollie Hemingway said on “America’s Newsroom” Thursday morning.

“You don’t want the president’s son having ties to corrupt foreign adversaries or governments because you worry how that will affect U.S. policy,” Hemingway said.

In a newly released email, incoming President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden sent “best wishes from the entire Biden family” to the Chinese Communist Party-linked Chinese energy company with whom Hunter Biden intended to launch a firm. After claiming to speak for the whole family — which very much includes Hunter’s father, the former vice president — Hunter Biden asked the chairman to wire $10 million to “properly fund and operate” the company he intended to launch.

Despite claiming his son Hunter “did nothing wrong” as he raked in buku bucks as a manager of “private equity” from places like China after he followed his father around on his trips as vice president, Joe Biden now says things will be different now that he’s going to be president.

Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, is under criminal investigation as federal authorities scrutinize his foreign business dealings, and while the full scope of the federal inquiries have not been made public, the younger Biden’s financial dealings with China are likely at the forefront.

Concerns about Hunter Biden gained broader attention last week after multiple outlets reported that he is being investigated in connection to his taxes and overseas business with China and other countries in a federal inquiry that was opened as far back as 2018. President-elect Joe Biden’s campaign, along with many in the media, had dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story and other allegations as being part of a Russian disinformation operation, even though Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said that “there is no intelligence that supports that … Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign.”
