Now That Cuomo Is the Accused, Liberal Outlet Calls for Due Process in MeToo Era

Due process, you’re now officially uncanceled.

Sure, you had your temporary reinstatement last spring when a woman named Tara Reade (remember her?) accused then-candidate Joe Biden of sexual assault. All woman couldn’t be believed, it seemed, as journalists began uncovering damning evidence about Reade’s history, like the fact that she, um, had issues with landlords and former acquaintances called her “deceitful” and “manipulative.”

Cuomo’s fall raises questions for media

Cuomo’s fall raises questions for media

The political fortunes of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) have dropped like a stone — and his decline is sharpening hard questions about the favorable image he enjoyed in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by two former staff members, Lindsey Boylan and Charlotte Bennett. New York’s attorney general, Letitia James (D), is overseeing an investigation into those allegations.

In addition, Cuomo has come under significant political pressure following the revelation that his administration withheld information about the number of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes.

An AG probe is now a must for Andrew Cuomo: Goodwin

It was a freewheeling conversation in a Manhattan restaurant about how to change Albany. Andrew Cuomo, then New York’s attorney general, was a lock to be elected governor in 2010 and was gaming the hurdles and opportunities.

His conclusion would prove prophetic in ways he couldn’t imagine. “The answer is to do it in two terms,” he told a companion. “Third terms are always a mistake.”

#MeToo and #BLM Were Pretexts for Massive Cultural Power Grabs

The hashtag identity politics activism that generated #MeToo and then #BLM has little to show for it except increased misery. MeToo got rid of a handful of real monsters like Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, whose abuses were hardly a secret, a group of second-tier creeps like Charlie Rose whose abuses were more obnoxious than dangerous, and ended up giving a pass to other public figures whose political standing was more secure, like Neil deGrasse Tyson, who has his career fully restored to him. It also scapegoated countless people over minor, perceived, or invented offenses while creating a state of victimhood.

Ex-aide Lindsay Boylan details sexual harassment allegations against Gov. Cuomo

A former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday provided new details to back up her claims of sexual harassment — including an allegation that New York’s top elected official kissed her “on the lips” without warning inside his Manhattan office.

Lindsey Boylan — now a Democratic candidate for Manhattan borough president — made the stunning allegation in an essay posted on the Medium website.

Boylan said the incident took place after her 2018 promotion to be Cuomo’s deputy secretary for economic development and special advisor to the governor — a job she initially turned down “because I didn’t want to be near him.”

IN HER WORDS: One of the women behind Vance allegations tells her story

Maj. Kellie Brennan says the time has come to tell her story.

For years, she says she felt she had nowhere to turn despite telling military superiors in the chain of command about the intimate, sexual relationship she says she had with former chief of the defence staff Gen. Jonathan Vance while he was her superior.

But always, she says the response was the same.

Sajjan dodges questions about why Vance kept his job when sexual impropriety allegations surfaced

Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan was grilled by parliamentarians Friday on why he didn’t remove Canada’s top soldier when first told about allegations of sexual impropriety by Gen. Jon Vance in 2018.

But Sajjan didn’t answer the question and many others like it, citing the need to protect an ongoing investigation into the former chief of the defence staff.

Military Police Investigated Vance in 2015, No Charges Laid, DND Says

OTTAWA—The Department of National Defence says military police opened an investigation in 2015 into Gen. Jonathan Vance’s conduct while he was serving in Italy the previous year, but that no charges were laid.

The Defence Department says the investigation was launched before Vance’s appointment as defence chief in July 2015, but did not reveal the specific allegations that were investigated.

This is starting to smell like the Ghomeshi case where everyone was a little bit off.
