Justin Trudeau wants a “just transition” away from Canada’s energy sector

As Justin Trudeau’s government seeks to “decarbonize” Canadian industry, the Liberals are advancing what they call a “just transition” devoted to “helping workers and communities thrive in a net-zero carbon economy.” While it sounds noble, it’s an initiative based on the idea of phasing out jobs in Canada’s oil and gas sector. Moreover, it neglects to recognize the work being done by the energy industry, such as investing in carbon capture and storage, which reduce emissions without punitive carbon taxes.

Philip Cross: Ottawa can’t cap oilsands output so Trudeau should stop saying he can

During a weekend campaign stop at Granby, Que., Justin Trudeau defended his government’s purchase of the Trans Mountain pipeline by saying “The biggest concern that people have around the pipeline is, ‘Oh, we’re going to see oilsands expansion.’ No, we’re not.” The promise to curtail the oilsands echoes his famous 2017 remark to a gathering in Peterborough, Ontario, that “We can’t shut down the oilsands tomorrow. We need to phase them out.” This is just the latest example of Trudeau’s penchant during election campaigns to promise whatever the audience wants to hear without considering whether he can conceivably deliver it.

Leftists lick their chops for Big Oil here after leftist judge in the Netherlands blames Shell for global warming

In what has to be the most appalling court ruling coming out of western Europe in years, a leftist judge in the Netherlands held Royal Dutch Shell at least in part responsible for global warming and therefore obliged to cut emissions to Paris climate accord-dictated levels, which should put a damper on its productive capacities.

The trial of three members of an outspoken First Nations protest group is a case about “suppression of Indigenous voices” and “over-policing” of Canada’s First Nations people, a judge has been told.

Nicole Manuel, Chantel Manuel and Isha Jules, members of the Tiny House Warriors, are facing charges of mischief, causing a disturbance and assault stemming from an altercation with security and police outside a December 2018 meeting about the ongoing Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project.

Colonial paid nearly $5 million ransom & Biden won’t be doing anything

Colonial Pipeline had to pay almost $5 million crypto-ransom after they were hacked. Colonial provides fuel to much of the East. Crypto-criminals can hack our infrastructure and seriously harm us, but Joe Biden doesn’t see the need for interfering in a private company’s problems.

The cost will undoubtedly be passed down to consumers.

Why will it take a WEEK to fix the Colonial Pipeline?

Colonial Pipeline says it is still days away from resuming full operations after falling victim to a cyberattack as questions being to mount over why it is taking an entire week to get the nation’s biggest fuel pipeline back in action.

Gas prices have already spiked to a seven-year high and reports of gas shortages and panic buying are emerging up and down the East Coast with motorists lining up from Florida to Virginia for fuel.
