Destroying American Democracy – An Inside Job

Over the last few years, there has been much written about the destruction of American democracy. Frequently the threat has been of alleged interference in U.S. elections by Russia, China or other state actors. Government agencies, the name of election integrity, were assigned to identify and disrupt these foreign intrusions. As more and more information is revealed about these agencies, it seems that America’s Intelligence Community participated in these activities domestically, and in a way that poses a grave threat to both election integrity and American democracy.

What unites Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tate

There’s no moral equivalence between the pair – but their cults have more in common than you might think

So, are you Team Tate or Team Thunberg? Do you side with the muscled misogynist who has convinced tragic TikTok incels that he’s a ‘real man’? Or with the pint-sized prophetess of doom famous for scaring the world witless about the coming climate apocalypse?

I say neither. I can’t be the only person who finds both of them annoying. The world will be a better place in 2023 if we hear less from woman-hating Tate and future-fearing Greta and their clashing armies of wide-eyed followers.

Why the media ignored female black cop Melvina Bogard’s shooting of unarmed white man Ariel Roman

Late last month, Chicago Police Officer Melvina Bogard was acquitted of felony battery charges in the shooting of an unarmed man at a Chicago train station in 2020. While a handful of local media outlets reported on the story at the time, the case received far less attention than most in which a cop shoots a civilian.

Perhaps this has something to do with Bogard’s race — she is black and the shooting victim, Ariel Roman, is white. Whenever a white cop shoots and injures a black victim in the US, the media explodes with outrage, as journalists seek to prop up the narrative of systemic white supremacy and brutality within the police force. But there is far less appetite for the reverse scenario, even when that white victim isn’t armed, doesn’t appear to be a danger to police and is shot at close range.

Ken Burns Hysterically Warns of ‘Authoritarianism,’ ‘Nationalism’

Documentarian Ken Burns took his book tour to PBS’s Amanpour and Company on Tuesday where he hysterically warned that “authoritarianism” and “nationalism” are on the rise in America putting everything from elections to the independent judiciary in trouble. With analysis such as that, it should not be surprising Burns was both short on facts and hypocritical when making his assessment.

Barbara Kay: As this B.C. teacher found out, even speaking the truth in class is enough to get an educator cancelled

Who’d be a high school teacher in these woke times? Not me. It’s a “feelings” minefield in classrooms: all too easy for a student to take offence where none was intended, and all too easy to act on it at a teacher’s expense.

A hostile student — uncommitted, grudge-nurturing, frequently expecting higher marks than he or she gets — may allege that a teacher said terrible things in class: say, that he wished his cancer-stricken wife would die so he could find a new one; or that he described Paul Bernardo’s sex crimes in detail. Chances are good such charges will be taken at the student’s word, not the teacher’s.

Flashback: Lib Journalists’ Tearful Eulogies for Cuba’s Communist Dictator

Six years ago today, November 26, 2016, news broke of the death of Fidel Castro, the former communist dictator of Cuba. Castro’s communist regime executed hundreds of political opponents and drove tens of thousands more into exile. The U.S. State Department, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch all listed Castro’s Cuba as among the worst violators of human rights on the planet.

Universities told to teach about colonialism and white supremacy – even in computing courses

… Chris McGovern, of the Campaign for Real Education, said: “It’s alarming. Campuses are being ordered to go woke.

“This QAA enforcement of anti-white and anti-Western racial hatred and division is iniquitous.

“It will undermine racial integration in our country and breed either resentment or self-loathing.”

World ‘plunging towards societal collapse’ as era of cheap money ends

The global economy is on the path to hyperinflation and risks societal collapse if soaring prices are not brought under control, one of the world’s biggest hedge funds has warned.

Elliott Management, the hedge fund founded by Wall Street billionaire Paul Singer, hit out at central bank rate-setters in an apocalyptic warning to clients as rate-setters bring the era of ultra-cheap money to an abrupt end.

The world economy faces an “extremely challenging” outlook and hyperinflation could result in “global societal collapse and civil or international strife”, the letter to clients said, the Financial Times reported. It said central banks have been “dishonest” in deflecting blame for the price surge from their prolonged use of ultra-loose monetary policy.

No Boys Allowed? New CyberStart Canada Program Will Cater Only to Girls and Non-Binary Students

… Canadian liberals have decided to follow America’s lead on creating their new cyber initiative that reeks with overtones of overt anti-male discrimination, as Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, which is Toronto Metropolitan University’s National Centre for “training, innovation, and collaboration in cybersecurity,” has recently announced a new program called CyberStart Canada.

The program, which is funded by Canadian taxpayers via Public Safety Canada’s Cyber Security Cooperation Program, will initially provide services and education to 700 girls and non-binary students from Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia in 2022-23 in what is being described as a “gamified environment,” and then throughout Canada the following year.

According to the eligibility requirements listed on the program’s website, “Priority in 2022 will be given to students in Ontario, Alberta or British Columbia who self-identify as girls or non-binary. Students must be over the age of 13 to participate.”

Immigrants make up nearly a quarter of Canadian population: census

The latest release of 2021 census data shows immigrants make up nearly a quarter of all people in Canada, and are projected to represent a third of people in the country by 2041.

Immigrants now make up the largest portion of the population since Confederation, with more than 8.3 million people in the country who were, or had ever been, a landed immigrant or permanent resident.

Statistics Canada says immigration is the main driver of population growth, in part because of the aging population and low fertility rates in the country.

Sweden ditches ‘feminist foreign policy’ … Justin Trudeau Hardest Hit

Justin Trudeau crying on cue.

Sweden’s new foreign minister has ditched its pioneering “feminist foreign policy”, saying the label has become more important than its content.

But Tobias Billstrom said “we will always stand for gender equality”.

The previous left-wing government launched the policy in 2014, becoming the first in the world to put gender equality at the heart of its dealings with other nations.

The self-labelled “feminist government” had ruffled feathers globally.

British Ruling Pins Blame on Social Media for Teenager’s Suicide

The internet, according to the ruling, “affected her mental health in a negative way and contributed to her death in a more than minimal way.”

Sitting in the witness box of a small London courtroom this week, a Meta executive faced an uncomfortable question: Did her company contribute to the suicide of a 14-year-old named Molly Russell?

Videos and images of suicide, self-harm and depressive content that the teenager viewed in the months before she died in November 2017 appeared on a screen in the courtroom. The executive was read a post that Molly had liked or saved from Instagram, and heard how it was copied almost verbatim in a note filled with words of self-loathing later found by her parents.
