JK Rowling vs the pronoun police

Ah, pronouns – those once-innocent little words have become the Molotov cocktails of the 21st century. We used to learn them in primary school, blissfully unaware that ‘he’ and ‘she’ would one day destroy friendships, careers and dinner parties. Once just humble substitutes for names, they’re now a litmus test for moral worth, a gateway to Twitter pile-ons and a fast track to declaring your side in a culture war. Say the wrong one and you’re a bigot. Say the right one, wrongly, and you sound like a hostage reading a script with a gun to your head.

Forget ‘Go Woke, Go Broke’ — Jaguar Went Stupid Instead

Pity poor Jaguar. The British-based luxury and performance carmaker has had a rough go of it this century, but nothing could prepare anyone for the most bone-headed move in corporate history — and I don’t mean Jaguar’s woke “Reimagine” ad from late last year.

Let me bring you up to speed.

They were on their death bed when they came out with this…

School councillor objected to one of those stupid land acknowledgements and got suspended by the usual Little Hitlers

Terry Newman: She objected to land acknowledgments. Now she’s paying the price for her heresy

An elected Ontario school board councillor has been suspended by her board for expressing an opinion about land acknowledgements. It was not explained to her the exact offence she had committed, or who complained, only that the opinion she expressed apparently caused harm.

Catherine Kronas was first elected to Ancaster High Secondary School as chair in 2023 and then re-elected as a council member in 2024.

Valedictorian told to stay home after making pro-Palestinian remarks in grad speech

The valedictorian at a west Ottawa high school says she’s been told not to come to school Monday after she made pro-Palestinian remarks during a speech at her commencement ceremony.

Elizabeth Yao largely focused on highlights from the past four years at Bell High School during her speech on Thursday, including a memorable waffle fundraiser and the days spent dozing off while reading Shakespeare.

Her comments on the war in Gaza came at the end, after a land acknowledgement.

Our brainwashed Valedictorian will no doubt rise to leadership in the Brave New Replacement Canada.

Canada’s schools resemble those under Stalin or Hitler.

They all indoctrinated children to venerate evil as virtue, lies as truth.

What is different is that the economic and ideological coercion of the teachers unions and colleges provided the muscle that allowed their Long March to succeed rather than the guns of revolution.

You would not be far off speculating that core subjects have been degraded into deep debates about how many transgender Palestinian children can dance on a fake residential school grave.

Parents and politicians with rare exception have said little as questioning teachers or schoolboards began to resemble a rendezvous with the Peoples Court.

Ideological capture of our institutions and mass immigration from incompatible cultures did this to our country.

Conrad Black: Let’s make a bonfire of Canada’s ghastly wokeness

It is irritating and distressing to see Canada robotically following the British and French and two other countries in imposing sanctions on two Israeli cabinet ministers over their comments related to the West Bank. It is also annoying that our new prime minister, who squeaked to a minority victory through a histrionic imposture of a modern Churchill against Donald Trump’s Hitler, trying to reconcile the extreme green zealotry of a lifetime with absolute commercial and political necessity, offers nonsense about “decarbonized” oil. Their Canadian and Britannic Majesties the King and Queen were recently dragooned into making a 24-hour visit to this realm to read the prime minister’s platitudinous throne speech, ritualistically beginning with what amounts to a false acknowledgment that we are occupiers of another people’s land. The king was allowed to present this fake confession of stealing the country from the then 200,000 indigenous people, almost all of them nomads, as “shared history as a nation,” (like the shared experiences of Poland, Germany, and the USSR from 1939 to 1945). We shout defiance at the Americans for reducing their trade deficit but prevail upon the King to tell us that we have no right to be here.

“Wokeism is a virus that destroys nations from within”—Political Scientist Agustín Laje

“It conditions us to be governed by minorities, dissolving the natural bonds of society,” says Javier Milei’s right-hand man.

Agustín Laje, Argentine political scientist, writer, and one of the most prominent intellectual voices of the new Latin American Right, is known as President Javier Milei’s closest ideologue. The author of impactful books like Cultural Battle and Idiot Generation, Laje has managed to combine theoretical reflection with political action. This year, he was one of the keynote speakers at CPAC Hungary 2025, held in Budapest—the largest gathering of the international Right in Europe. He shared his views on wokeism, the structural weaknesses of the European Union, the differences between European and Latin American right-wing movements, and the challenges facing parties like Vox in Spain.

Doctor Who Star Ncuti Gatwa “Axed” and BBC Show to be “Put on Pause” Amid Falling Ratings and Woke Storylines

Dr Who made deviant woke

… The BBC programme is also said to have been paused for an extended break amid criticism about plots about non-binary aliens and incels.

Fans of the show have also lamented some of the programme’s best loved villains being given ‘woke’ facelifts. In one episode Ncuti’s Doctor admitted he was gay.

It came after Gatwa’s withdrawal from presenting the UK’s Eurovision jury scores on Saturday night after Israel made the final. Gatwa has previously been vocal in his support for Palestine.

Land Acknowledgements: Either Give the Land Back or Stop Saying It’s Stolen

In response to Donald Trump’s various insults, threats, and tariffs, we have apparently never been prouder to be Canadian. Why, I flew a “God Save The King” flag on the Victoria Day long weekend and nobody threw a rock. Unless you count the Governor General, presenting the “Award of Merit” to various police persons on behalf of the King, recently throwing “We are gathered today on the traditional, unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg Nation” through the stained glass. Congratulations to you brave, noble social workers with sidearms enforcing settler colonialism. Brings a tear to your eye, doesn’t it?

What is really being taught to our children in history lessons?

History is an area of remarkable success in our schools thanks to recent education reforms. However, these impressive strides forward risk being undermined by a new wave of activism in classrooms.

Following the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, 83 per cent of schools have made changes to ‘diversify’ or ‘decolonise’ their curriculums in recent years. In many cases, this shake-up has brought politicised and one-sided narratives into schools. Inaccurate and poor-quality teaching resources are being used to give students a mistaken impression of the past.

Josh Dehaas: There’s no denying land acknowledgements are political

Last month, with the assistance of the Canadian Constitution Foundation, a group of University of British Columbia professors and a former student filed a lawsuit asking the B.C. Supreme Court to protect academic freedom by ordering the university administration to stop breaching its statutory duty to remain non-political: No more requiring fealty to DEI ideology from job applicants. No more statements about the Israel-Gaza war. No more land acknowledgements by the administration in academic settings where academic freedom is impinged.

WARMINGTON: RCMP land acknowledgement comes before news on missing Nova Scotia kids

The missing kids can wait – the land and cultural acknowledgements were the RCMP’s priority.

Most agree, the most important thing to the Nova Scotia RCMP should have been the search and whereabouts of six-year-old Lily Sullivan and her four-year-old brother Jack Sullivan.

I am so tired of the constant, deliberate stream of insults by our “betters”.
