Other writers also had their number, including black authors James Baldwin and Ralph Ellison. The event Wolfe documents may not be familiar to a rising generation charting similar territory as chic revolutionaries on social media. It’s therefore worth providing a summary here. In the season of radical chic, as Wolfe refers to it, super-rich celebrities and socialites were indulging in a political cocktail of nostalgie de la boue and noblesse oblige, by staging fundraising parties – where sumptuous hors d’oeuvre were served – at New York duplexes on Park Avenue. Their pet causes were those raised by ethnic groups who were politicised – often rightfully so – by grievances that needed airing, axes that needed grinding.

Many black people will attest that it isn’t unusual to fall prey to “well-meaning” assumptions about our supposed “victimhood”. There are those, usually on the Left, who think that we ethnic minorities are always suffering and that we therefore require their support and counsel, whether we know it or not.
That is what seems to have happened at the broadcaster Sky, where a diversity officer told a colleague of Latina heritage that she must have been “oppressed”. The colleague rightly objected and she later won a claim of race discrimination at an employment tribunal for the comments.

Jane Bradbury was left “distressed” after Rosemary Cook made the remark as she prepared to deliver a presentation about racism in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement.
I have no idea where the video came from, but I think it’s worth noting because it seems to show that the Democrat party has so successfully racialized America in the last 15 years or so that we are beginning to live out Charles Manson’s “Helter Skelter” madness. The U.S. SCOTUS ruling correcting federal law by returning the issue of abortion back to the states has prompted Black women to become a focal point as leverage for leftist/progressive actions and agitations.
If Black women confirmed the KKK wanted them to abort their babies, they’d double down on having as many babies as possible in revolt. If Black women confirmed evil racists wanted to exterminate their race via targeting them for abortion, they would reject and denounce abortions. If Black women confirmed abortion was specifically concocted to enshrine and uphold “White Supremacy,” they would reject it altogether. It’s time to tell Black women historical facts and truth instead of purposeful attempts to use and manipulate them for evil.
What exactly is “white supremacy”? People these days seem to have their own definition for this ever-present phrase, molding it into whatever suits their particular agenda. Since it appears to be fluid, I’d like to present another definition.
White supremacy is a belief system that holds black people as continuous victims in a white-majority society, deeming them incapable without the benevolence of white people or the government and constantly portraying them as impoverished, weak-willed, overly emotional, mentally fragile and without fortitude.
… I am overstating, but not by much. A significant number of American students are reading fluently and with understanding and are well on their way to becoming literate adults. But they are a minority. As of 2019, according to the National Association of Education Progress (NAEP), sometimes called the Nation’s Report Card, 35 percent of fourth-graders were reading at or above proficiency levels; that means, to spell it out, that a strong majority—65 percent, to be exact—were less than proficient. In fact, 34 percent were reading, if you can call it that, below a basic level, barely able to decipher material suitable for kids their age. Eighth-graders don’t do much better. Only 34 percent of them are proficient; 27 percent were below-basic readers. Worse, those eighth-grade numbers represent a decline from 2017 for 31 states.
Princeton University’s president is demanding one of the school’s most distinguished professors be fired, following student uproar over the educator’s criticism of woke school policies and racial politics that emerged after the murder of George Floyd.
The recommended dismissal, sent by University President Christopher Eisgruber to the school’s board of directors last week, accuses classics professor Joshua Katz of not cooperating with a 2018 investigation into alleged sexual misconduct.
The investigation looked into a relationship Katz, 51, had with a student in 2006. It saw the tenured professor briefly suspended, after being resolved internally.
