Olivia Chow warns Toronto faces tax increase — or people on the streets — due to shelter funding cuts

The city of Toronto is now facing cuts to its shelter funding from the province, threatening another one of the municipality’s key funding sources to house homeless people.

According to a letter from Mayor Olivia Chow published Friday, the province recently informed the municipality it is reducing allocated funding for next year to almost $8 million, compared to $19.75 million the city received this year and $38 million it got in 2024.

No homeless means no money to funnel to her commie pals for pet projects employing fellow toxic commies.

How many of the Liberal party’s “asylum seekers” use shelters in TO – nearly 30% of the total.

It’s extortion.

Toronto group calls for $15 congestion fee for vehicles entering downtown core

A civic group is advocating for Toronto to adopt congestion pricing, following the route taken by cities such as New York, London, Stockholm and Singapore.

It’s a tactic aimed at reducing traffic in downtowns, with the collected congestion fees meant to go toward improving public transit and urban infrastructure.

Toronto sucks, this will make it suck more.

Toronto Real Estate’s Latest Record? Distressed Listings

Forget bidding wars—distressed listings are Toronto real estate’s hottest trend. Power of Sale listings have surged more than five-fold in three years, according to data from Valery Real Estate. A record volume of distressed sellers are flooding record inventory, shredding the narrative of a quick recovery. It’s a brutal reminder that real estate corrections are measured in years, not months.

Doug Ford’s speed camera plan sparks anger at Toronto city hall

Mayor Olivia Chow defended Toronto’s speed cameras as an essential safety tool Wednesday, following news that Premier Doug Ford is planning to scrap the devices.

Speaking at an unrelated press conference one day after the Star revealed Ford is preparing legislation this fall to get rid of the cameras, Chow said automated enforcement has proven effective at getting drivers to slow down.

New poll shows why Chairman Chow might not get re-elected

With just over a year until the Toronto municipal election, a solid majority of residents think it’s time for a new mayor, according to a public opinion survey that could signal trouble for incumbent Olivia Chow.

The poll of Torontonians conducted by Ipsos for the Star found 58 per cent want change in the city’s highest office, and 42 per cent believe Chow is doing well enough to deserve re-election.

There’s significant anxiety among residents about the direction of the city — six in 10 of poll respondents said Toronto’s best days are behind it — “and as a result of that, people look to what they can do in order to change that situation,” said Darrell Bricker, Ipsos global CEO of public affairs. “One of the things that they can do is elect a new mayor.”

Chow is not Mayor she barely qualifies as a figurehead. The city is run by the usual left wing lunatics and their toxic allies.

When ‘saving lives’ with bike lanes means costing them

“Bike lanes save lives.” That’s the slogan repeated endlessly by the cycling lobby, shouted as if it’s beyond question. But slogans don’t save lives — emergency response times do.

And according to data obtained through a Freedom of Information request by Balance on Bloor, the bike lanes on Bloor Street West are causing delays of up to two and a half minutes for ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars. In the world of emergency medicine, that delay is a death sentence.

WARMINGTON: Toronto taxpayers to pay for gender-affirming care for city staff, including surgeries

Move over, all-gender washrooms, the city of Toronto could be soon using taxpayer money to help pay for municipal employees to receive gender-affirming care.

And potentially pay for breast or penile prosthetics, special underwear, wigs and other transgender aids not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance plan).

Another 12-year-old boy is charged with murder. What has become of us in Toronto?

The 12-year-old boy is described as a youth. But a 12-year-old is still a child.

Typically, if attending school, in Grade 7.

But this 12-year-old is charged with second-degree murder and five violent robberies. And we don’t really know how to profile them, apart from the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which deems that anyone aged 12 or older can be charged with a criminal offence.

That child is the weaponized product of the Liberal-left’s war on western civilization.

Sticky floors, damp seats, blaring TikToks first thing in the morning: Is this Toronto’s worst commute?

3rd World Toronto, seriously this is not a North American city.

So. Many. TikTok videos.

The unending barrage of grating, trendy music blares beside me. Surely this isn’t how I — or anyone — would choose to start their day.

It’s just after 7 a.m., and my bus seatmate is scrolling through TikTok on his phone. He’s swiping so quickly the music blurs into an incoherent spew. The sound fills the bus — no headphones, just raw speakers echoing through the entire ride.

Welcome to my first trip.

The 3rd World is complaining about Toronto’s 3rd world transit system.

John Tory critics ramp up attacks as former mayor holds talk on possible mayoral campaign

Tory and Bimbo

John Tory’s political adversaries are stepping up their attacks on the former mayor — including the affair he resigned over — as some sources close to him say he’s now likely to run against incumbent Olivia Chow next year, and has held talks with key political insiders about a potential campaign.

The Star reported in June that Tory — who abruptly stepped down as mayor in February 2023 after the paper revealed he had a relationship with a staffer almost 40 years his junior — was considering running in the October 2026 mayoral election.

Toronto is such a mess even Tory looks good and I mean that in the very worst way.
