I hope Musk can save it.

You can wage Jihad on Twitter, but don’t mess with gender

Islamists can justify wife beating and call for killing millions of French on Twitter, but do not dare say “men cannot get pregnant” or you will be blocked.

Libertarian magazine Reason compared it to George Orwell’s “Ministry of Truth”. To ensure “the safety of users”, or to protect them from incorrect thoughts and words (Islamophobic, homophobic, migrantphobic, transophobic …), Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey had seen fit to create an internal consulting group with a disturbing name: “Council for trust and security”. It may take a few years to figure out that it is tasked, as in Orwell’s 1984, with eliminating forbidden words and thoughts, so let’s look at what it has been doing.

The famous American satire site, The Babylon Bee, has just been suspended from Twitter. It had violated “trust and security”. Its director, Seth Dillon, said they were banned for a tweet mocking Rachel Levine, who identifies as a transgender and US public health service officer. “Babylon Bee’s Man of the Year is Rachel Levine,” reads the tweet.

Twitter Declines To Censor Tweets Reportedly Linking To Hacked Freedom Convoy Donor List

Twitter is allowing posts to remain on its platform containing the private information of Freedom Convoy donors reportedly obtained through hacking, according to a review of Twitter’s platform by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Crowdfunding service GiveSendGo was reportedly hacked late Sunday and the personal information of donors to the Freedom Convoy, a group of truckers and individuals protesting Canada’s COVID-19 restrictions, was given to leak-hosting site Distributed Denial of Secrets, the organization said on its website. GiveSendGo has yet to publicly confirm the hack, and the company did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment early Monday.

Big Brother Alert! US Gov’t Submitted More Info Requests To Twitter Than Any Other Country

Twitter VP Sinéad McSweeney warned of unprecedented authorities crackdowns on free speech and requests for surveillance of web customers within the platform’s newest transparency report.

It speaks volumes when Huge Tech executives sound the alarm on censorship. “In a change from our final reporting interval, the USA grew to become the one largest supply of presidency info requests with 3,026 requests, accounting for twenty-four% of the worldwide quantity we acquired throughout this era,” Twitter defined in the transparency report issued on Jan. 25. “These requests accounted for 27% of all accounts specified from around the globe and Twitter complied, in entire or partly, with 68% of those U.S. info requests.” “We’re going through unprecedented challenges as governments around the globe more and more try and intervene and take away content material,” the report quoted firm Vice President of World Public Coverage and Philanthropy McSweeney as saying. “This menace to privateness and freedom of expression is a deeply worrying pattern that requires our full consideration.”

Twitter Allows Iranian Threats To Assassinate Former President Trump

Twitter is allowing official Iranian government accounts to issue death threats against former president Donald Trump and other Trump administration officials.

Twitter’s refusal to remove these ongoing threats is renewing congressional scrutiny on the social media platform. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the regime’s paramilitary fighting force that engages in terrorism and assassination plots, tweeted during the weekend that it will take revenge for the death of terror mastermind Qassem Soleimani, who two years ago was killed in Iraq in a drone strike ordered by Trump.

Iran’s Khamenei Threatens Trump on Twitter. Twitter yawns.

On Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, tweeted: “Martyr Soleimani is an eternal reality that will live on forever. His assassins – including Trump & the like – will go down in history’s garbage bin, but of course after receiving retribution in this world for the crime they committed.” This is a clear threat, but Twitter has not banned or suspended Khamenei’s account. After all, he was threatening Donald Trump, and as far as Twitter is concerned, what could be wrong with that?
