Elon Musk starts Twitter poll on whether to reinstate Trump

Elon Musk is running a Twitter poll on whether he should reinstate former President Donald Trump to the platform, with early results showing slightly half of participants voting “yes.”

“Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” tweeted Musk, mere minutes after posting the poll at 7:47 pm Friday. The Latin phrase means “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” The poll was set to remain open for 24 hours.

Not sure if Trump would come back. Given his announced run it would make sense.

Business as usual. Never think an oligarch is your friend.

You’ll miss Elon Musk when he’s gone

The new Twitter CEO isn’t like other billionaires

Even before he bought Twitter and started trolling AOC, expressing disdain for Elon Musk was regarded as a sure sign of sophistication among all correct-thinking people. All that had to be done was point out that his dad had owned an emerald mine and that he wasn’t the founder of Tesla. Richest man in the world? Anyone could do it.

Usual cranks who seek to deny your voice worried about Musk’s Twitter

Will Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover have ‘big implications’ for Canada’s upcoming — and already contentious — online harms bill?

… Canadian lawmakers are already thinking about the battle ahead.

“The reality is Elon Musk and his takeover of Twitter have been disastrous, not just for the complete incoherence of Twitter, but the fact that he has — in a very real sense through his words and his actions — helped to promote hate,” said NDP heritage critic Peter Julian, who will be one of the MPs tasked with scrutinizing the online safety bill when it is introduced.

“The fact that they have gutted many of the jobs that were designed to curb hate through Twitter, and his deliberate fostering of disinformation and hate, is going to have an even greater impact.”

‘A new low’: ‘Woke’ Twitter employee cries that he ‘got fired while sleeping’

Some now-fired Twitter employees are unintentionally making headlines left and right over their post-termination behavior, including their crying and whining.

Now on one hand, it’s very understandable that these former employees are upset. Being fired is a horrible experience. But on the other hand, say critics, these employees were responsible for God knows how many Americans being silenced and censored.
