‘I had to downgrade my life’ – US workers in debt to buy groceries

Stacey Ellis, a lifelong Democrat from Pennsylvania, should be the kind of voter that US President Joe Biden can count on.

But after four years of rising prices, her support has worn thin – and every time she shops at the supermarket, she is reminded how things have changed for the worse.

Ms Ellis works full-time as a nurse’s assistant and has a second part-time job.

But she needs to economise. She has switched stores, cut out brand-name items like Dove soap and Stroehmann bread, and all but said goodbye to her favourite Chick-fil-A sandwich.

Why US-Mexico border crossings are at a record low

President Joe Biden imposed asylum restrictions one month ago to “gain control of the border” ahead of the November elections. Migrant encounters subsequently crashed by 40%, with the White House boasting this week that they’d hit a record low.

Anecdotal stories from the Mexican side of the border suggest many migrants and the smugglers are taking a wait-and-see approach with the new executive order, which restricts asylum claims after encounters reach 2,500 between ports of entry. As a result, shelters along stretches of border regions have run out of space as asylum seekers are returned to Mexico. Other migrants have preferred to try their luck with an application known as CBP One, which allows them to request appointments for entering at ports of entry and presenting asylum claims.

Everything Dim Bulb Justin Trudeau has said publicly about Donald Trump

Everything Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said publicly about Donald Trump

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took a measured tone when talking about Donald Trump during his first presidency, the Canadian leader has been a little more direct since.

“It wasn’t easy the first time and if there is a second time, it won’t be easy either,” Trudeau told the Montreal Chamber of Commerce in January. “There are clearly issues where I do not agree at all with Mr. Trump.”

Citing topics like climate change, Trudeau said another Trump presidency would be a “step back” and a win for a type of populism “that reflects a lot of anguish and fury … without necessarily providing solutions.”

Says the guy who turns everything he touches into shit.

Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden are used to being underestimated. That’s not helping now

The day after the disastrous presidential debate, CNN convened a panel that included Katie Rogers, a New York Times reporter who covers the White House. When the host asked her what those closest to President Joe Biden, including First Lady Jill Biden, were telling him, she paused to set the table first.

“I think it’s important to understand how this family works in a way, and her place in it, but also the children, the grandchildren,” she said. “They view obstacles as part of his story, as part of his tapestry, his long life in politics. And the way they’re talking about this is, ‘We’ve been here before, we can keep going.’”

Collaborator Intelligence Agency

Where jihad is “a holy struggle in pursuit of a moral goal” and CIA bosses share information with Communist regimes.

It has now emerged that Gina Haspel, director of the CIA from 2018-2021, was aware of the October, 2020 letter from 51 “intelligence community” officials charging that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation.” The signatories included three former CIA directors –Mike Hayden, Leon Panetta, and John Brennan, plus acting CIA directors John McLaughlin and Mike Morel. A full 41 signers were from the CIA – some still on contract to the agency at the time.  In 2022, many of the signatories refused comment on the letter or ducked the question.

US cities can now punish homelessness. Will it help or hurt a crisis?

“I still have 20 more minutes before I have to move,” Anthony yelled from his green tent on a Hollywood sidewalk as he heard footsteps approaching.

Officials in Los Angeles had come by earlier to warn him that he could face arrest if he didn’t move his belongings.

They told him about the recent Supreme Court opinion that opened the door for cities and states across the US to punish anyone sleeping outdoors — the most significant ruling on homelessness since at least the 1980s, when many experts say the modern US homeless crisis began.

Ilhan Omar Slapped With Ethics Complaint From Conservative Watchdog Over Holding Rally With Ex-Somali PM

US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has been slapped with an ethics complaint by the American Accountability Foundation (AAF), a conservative watchdog group, for holding an event with former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

Last weekend, Khaire took the stage with Omar in support of her reelection campaign. AAF argued Khaire’s presence at Omar’s campaign rally constituted a violation of the US Federal Election Campaign Act and demanded the congresswoman step down from office.

Michelle Obama Only Democrat to Best Trump in Hypothetical Matchup

Former first lady Michelle Obama easily bested former president Donald Trump in a hypothetical polling matchup, making her the only Democrat to do so.

Obama garnered 50 percent support among registered voters compared to Trump’s 39 percent, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday. Only 4 percent said they would not vote at all in a potential race between Obama and Trump. In comparison, the presumptive Democratic nominee, President Joe Biden, was evenly matched with his Republican opponent at 40 percent. Eight percent said they would vote for another candidate in that case, and an additional 8 percent said they wouldn’t vote.

Justin Trudeau and Joe Biden are two leaders with one problem: Many of their supporters think their time is up

Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that he’s headed for Washington next week. What will he and President Joe Biden be talking about, behind the scenes at the NATO summit?

Endurance might be one topic. It’s been a bad week for Trudeau and Biden — arguably their worst weeks — with increasingly open questions of whether either leader should be hanging on.

New Cuban radar site near US military base could aid China spying – report

Satellite images appear to show that Cuba is building a new radar site likely to be capable of spying on the US’s nearby Guantánamo Bay naval base, in the latest upgrade to the country’s surveillance capabilities long thought to be linked to China.

The base, under construction since 2021 but previously not publicly reported, is east of the city of Santiago de Cuba near the El Salao neighborhood, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) said in a report published on Monday and later referenced by the Wall Street Journal.

Cuban vice foreign minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio denied that Cuba was harboring Chinese military interests on the island.

Counting The Most Horrific Crimes Allegedly Committed By Illegals Who Crossed The Border Under Biden’s Watch

If it wasn’t clear at the beginning of President Joe Biden’s tenure at the White House, which kicked off the largest border invasion this nation has ever seen, it is clear now that every state is a border state suffering from the consequences of unchecked, preventable crimes committed by foreigners.

United States looking at all options to halt Trudeau government’s digital services tax

The Office of the United States Trade Representative says it will do what’s necessary to halt Canada’s tax on large foreign digital services companies.

Last month, Parliament approved the government’s plan to add a three per cent levy on foreign tech giants which generate revenue from Canadian users. It means the companies will have to pay taxes on that revenue in Canada.

Many of those companies are based in the United States and American industry is demanding action.

We could be in trouble if Dementia Joe can remember Canada.

Nate Silver Has Some Bad News for Biden and the Democrats

Left-leaning political model master Nate Silver has some very bad news for Presidentish Joe Biden with his second election projection, just out Monday evening.

PJ Media’s own Matt Margolis brought you Silver’s first damning report on Biden’s chances last week. “Based on his simulations, he currently gives Trump a 65.7% of winning the Electoral College,” Matt reported two days before Thursday night’s debate debacle, “and a 49% chance of winning the popular vote.”
