The edible insects coming to a supermarket near you
It has long been suggested that we should start eating insects to help the environment, but for many of us it is not a palatable thought. One Israeli firm is hoping to win over the squeamish by adding different flavourings.
Dror Tamir opens a packet of brown, jellied sweets. “Try one,” says the boss of food tech firm Hargol.
The little gummies are packed with protein, but not from soy or gelatine. They are instead made from an edible, jumping insect – locusts, which are a type of grasshopper.
“Hang the Greens!”

“Hang the Greens!”
A German administrative court on Tuesday (September 22) banned a poster campaign by a small neo-Nazi group, initially authorized with conditions. The higher administrative court of Saxony overturned the decision of an administrative court of Chemnitz which had authorized this violent poster campaign, less than two weeks before the legislative elections, on condition that the posters of the small group ” IIIe Voie ” be stuck to more than 100 meters from those of the Greens.

Germany: parking row brews as Green mayor plans to increase fees by 600%
The mayor of the southern German city of Tübingen has attracted praise and scorn alike for a new plan to increase parking fees by 600% in an effort to discourage cars – especially large ones – from the city.
Boris Palmer, a member of the Greens party, has won initial support for his proposal, which would see the annual parking fee for SUVs rise from 30 euros to 180.
Palmer had originally pushed for a fee of 360 euros, but did not secure sufficient backing from city officials in the climate committee.

An infamous “hall of shame” listing of China’s top 10 “ugliest” buildings has kicked off with 87 bizarre designs in the running, including a violin-shaped church and an Inner Mongolia hotel in the form of a monstrous babushka doll.
Over the past 11 years a Chinese architecture website, archcy.com, has been inviting people to vote in the lighthearted annual contest that it hopes will encourage people to ponder the flexible notion of beauty.
Texas mom hijacks school board meeting to rage about library book’s graphic anal sex content
A Texas mother stood before her school board on Wednesday to complain about the descriptions of anal sex appearing in middle school library books – leading officials to cut off her microphone.
The woman, later identified as Kara Bell, told the Lake Travis Independent School District board on Wednesday that the book Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Perez contained inappropriate language, discussing the idea of a ‘p***y’, anal sex, and saying ‘A Mexican is a Mexican is a Mexican.’
The truth behind the Texas bridge migrants

While the president took a long weekend relaxing at the beach in Delaware, another self-imposed crisis blew up in his face.
The migrant shantytown under a concrete overpass in Del Rio, Texas, had ballooned to 15,000 souls, mainly Haitians. They were running out of food and water amid dangerously unsanitary conditions. With a pipeline of hundreds more flooding across the Rio Grande from Mexico every day, a humanitarian disaster was unfolding and the media were starting to pay attention.

One picture shows a poster declaring “F–k Amerikkka, This is Native Land” and another taking aim at law enforcement officials.
Islamist Sh^thole Pakistan begins dialogue on “inclusivity” with Islamist Sh^thole Afghanistan

Pakistan PM says he has started dialogue with Taliban over inclusivity
Pakistan’s prime minister says he has initiated a dialogue with the Taliban to encourage them to form an inclusive government that would ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.
Imran Khan tweeted on Saturday that he took the initiative after his meetings this week in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, with leaders of countries neighbouring Afghanistan.
Last week the Taliban announced an all-male interim government that included no women or members of Afghanistan’s minorities, contrary to their earlier pledges on inclusivity. They have also since moved to curb women’s rights, harking back to when they were in power in the 1990s.
