Ottawa stops funding temporary accommodations for Afghan migrant applicants waiting in Pakistan
43 Million spent on dubious “refugees”
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has stopped subsidizing temporary accommodations in Pakistan for people applying through a special immigration program for Afghans who worked for the Canadian government or armed forces.
Special measures for Afghans trying to move to Canada were introduced by the federal government in summer 2021, after the Taliban swept to power and sent many former employees of western governments into hiding.
How many thousands “worked” for Canada in Afghanistan?

Update – I have found a reference to the city celebrating it’s 650th anniversary which was themed as a “Festival of Diversity”
A “Festival of Diversity” began on Friday to mark the 650th anniversary of the city of Solingen. It was to last until Sunday. The announcement states: “Solingen Mitte will become a large festival mile: the celebrations will take place from Neumarkt to Fronhof and Mühlenplatz.” A program with music, cabaret, acrobatics, arts and crafts, entertainment for children and much more awaits visitors in the streets.

Elon Musk cut down 500,000 trees at Tesla’s German gigafactory
Elon Musk’s Tesla felled half a million trees in order to build his giant Berlin electric car factory, satellite analysis shows.
Imaging from environmental intelligence firm Kayrros suggested around 329 hectares of local woodland were felled between March 2020 and May 2023 to expand the plant. This is equivalent to around 500,000 trees.
Work on the plant, which has capacity to produce 500,000 electric vehicles each year, began in 2020 and it officially opened in 2022. It is Tesla’s only so-called “gigafactory” in Europe.

Australian court rules man is a woman
A transgender woman from Australia has won a discrimination case against a women-only social media app, after she was denied access on the basis of being male.
The Federal Court found that although Roxanne Tickle had not been directly discriminated against, she was a victim of indirect discrimination – which refers to when a decision disadvantages a person with a particular attribute – and ordered the app to pay her A$10,000 ($6,700; £5,100) plus costs.

Afghanistan’s Taliban has banned women from looking at men and speaking loudly in public and inside their homes.
In a 114-page document of new orders seen by The Telegraph, the regime announced strict measures governing everyday life for Afghan citizens.

Gunman targets Sikh activist behind contentious Canadian referendum
